MP Mallu Ravi Stresses Collective Effort for Effective Implementation of Welfare and Development Schemes in Nagar Kurnool
During the meeting, the MP reviewed the progress and implementation of programs across various sectors, including education, healthcare, rural water supply, agriculture, rural development, banking, Panchayati Raj, child welfare, civil supplies, and industries.
Recognition for Gattu Block's Achievement
Mallu Ravi congratulated the district administration for Gattu Mandal's recognition as one of the Top-5 ranked blocks nationwide in a NITI Aayog assessment. He praised the District Collector B.M. Santosh and other officials for their dedication.
Banking and Financial Inclusion
He directed banking institutions – public, private, and rural – to ensure adequate disbursement of loans across priority and non-priority sectors. He instructed them to resolve all pending applications and provide crop loans without delay. He also recommended the immediate establishment of SBI branches in Erravalli and Dharur mandal centers. Additionally, he urged banks to take swift action to set up digital libraries in the region.
MGNREGS and Rural Development
The district issued 1.56 lakh job cards under the MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme). Over the past three months, 2,074 man-days were generated, paying ₹307 per day, with a total of ₹14.45 crore distributed as daily wages. Under the Vanamahotsavam program, MGNREGS funds are being utilized for nurseries, planting, fitting, and maintenance work.
Swachh Bharat and Social Welfare
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the district provided ₹12,000 per toilet for sanitation infrastructure. Also, 17,549 beneficiaries, including senior citizens and widows, are receiving pensions.
Under the Mahila Shakti scheme, aimed at empowering one crore women to become economically independent, the district plans to set up petrol bunks and solar power units.
Agriculture and Soil Health
The Agriculture Department, with Central Government support, is collecting soil samples from 6,000 farmers to issue Soil Health Cards for improved crop productivity.
Healthcare Initiatives
Under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS):
Medical screenings were conducted for women, with necessary medications provided.
BP was detected in 57,400 individuals and diabetes in 26,000 individuals, who are now receiving treatment.
661 tuberculosis (TB) patients are receiving free treatment and a monthly allowance of ₹3,000.

Educational Progress
Under the Education Department:
3,994 students are studying in 12 KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya) schools.

A new menu has been introduced under the Midday Meal Scheme to provide nutritious food to all students.
Textbooks and uniforms were distributed to all students.
Instructions were issued to renovate dilapidated schools and repair toilets wherever needed.
Drinking Water Supply
Under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, clean drinking water is being supplied via pipelines to households in 255 village panchayats and habitations. As part of the Summer Action Plan, water tankers and repaired borewells were arranged to ensure uninterrupted supply during the dry season.
Infrastructure and Roads
Pending road works under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) were instructed to be completed immediately. MP Mallu Ravi called for inter-departmental coordination to achieve the proposed targets and to effectively implement Central and State welfare schemes.
Collector's Remarks
District Collector B.M. Santosh, in his address, appreciated the MP's commitment to monitoring welfare programs. He informed that the district is actively reviewing the implementation of schemes from over 40 departments on a regular basis.

‘Certainly our duty to keep roads in good condition': Gujarat CM asks officials to not take media coverage in negative manner
When the Gujarat government has increased the road network in the state, it is certainly its duty to keep those roads in good condition, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on Tuesday. The CM made the remark while addressing a public gathering — Sampurnata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh — at Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar where two aspirational districts and 11 aspirational talukas of Gujarat who performed well on different indicators were felicitated. On the occasion, the CM talked about the issue of complaints of damaged roads during monsoon. He said that earlier, there were not many complaints related to conditions of roads since there were very limited roads. But now, the CM said, there is an extensive road network. 'Now, it won't do… that the roads are damaged after people start using them,' he said. The CM asked officials not to take media coverage about bad condition of roads negatively and to move on by repairing those roads. '…now when we have increased the proportion of roads, then it is certainly our duty to keep those roads in good condition,' the CM said. The CM also asked the officials to maintain quality in any work being done by them in the state. The function was also attended by Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Shankar Chaudhary and Additional Secretary and Mission Director of Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme at Niti Aayog Rohit Kumar, among others. The two aspirational districts from Gujarat, which were felicitated on the occasion, include Dahod and Narmada. The 11 aspirational talukas that were felicitated for their performance on the six indicators include Lakhpat, Rapar, Kukarmunda, Nizar, Tharad, Ghoghamba, Sayla, Garbada, Nandod, Santalpur and Subir. Performance of the districts and talukas were assessed on the basis of six indicators on issues like antenatal care, supplementary nutrition for pregnant women, generation of soil health cards, screening for people with diabetes and hypertension, and self-help groups receiving revolving fund. Launched in January 2018, the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) aims to quickly and effectively transform 112 most under-developed districts across the country, according to the website of Niti Aayog. The programme focuses on the strength of each district, identifying low-hanging fruits for immediate improvement and measuring progress by ranking districts on a monthly basis, it added.

It's about economic ambition on a scale that could reshape western India's industrial landscape. By 2047, it aims to anchor an economic region worth $1.3 to $1.5 trillion, a figure that would represent 35% of Gujarat's projected economic engine runs on small and medium enterprises. The city ranks second nationally in Udyam registrations, cementing its status as an MSME hub that attracts entrepreneurs from across India and beyond. NITI Aayog has already begun assisting MSMEs in decarbonising their operations, while the Gujarat Textile Policy 2024 now includes renewable energy equipment under 'plant and machinery', making businesses eligible for capital and interest the most immediate challenge facing Surat's MSMEs is cash flow management during production cycles. When buyers delay payments, small manufacturers often face crippling credit crunches. To address this, the MSME Facilitation Council in Surat, which is one of six established across Gujarat, serves as a mediator between buyers and council currently handles over 3,500 cases. Yet, Dave pointed out that many entrepreneurs remain unaware of their rights, including the legal requirement for payments within 45 days. This knowledge gap represents both a challenge and an opportunity for the city's business the MSME Development Act undergoing revision and a new MSME policy in development, Surat stands at an inflection point. Plan for immediate and long-term needs of Wayanad landslides-hit families sees progress
Special schemes formulated by the Local Self-Government department to ensure livelihood for the survivors of the Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslides in Wayanad district are progressing well, Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh said in an official statement on the eve of the first anniversary of the disaster. Micro plans were prepared for each family to address their immediate and long-term needs, with skill training and employment provided to the survivors. Mr. Rajesh lauded the efforts of the Kudumbashree Mission and the MGNREGS State Mission for their crucial role in the reconstruction efforts at Mundakkai-Chooralmala. As part of the micro plan implementation, livelihood interventions have been completed for 349 families (including sponsorship) through Kudumbashree. In livelihood interventions, Kudumbashree has mobilised and provided livelihood support to 186 people through sponsorship. Livelihood Agricultural implements were distributed to 13 people through the Agriculture department. A total of 351 people have received skill training and training of 238 people is in progress. Out of these, 21 people have been provided employment till now. A team of 30 people who were trained in tailoring have started a bag manufacturing unit. Counseling support is being provided to the families through the Kudumbashree's Snehitha initiative. Other provisions Required nutritious food is being provided to 971 people through the Women and Child Development department. Health service interventions are in progress for 1,113 people through the Health department. The Education department and the local bodies have provided educational support to 223 children. Kudumbashree has received ₹3.61 crore from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to provide a start-up fund and credit linked subsidy for families who have lost house, land and employment following the disaster. The initial interventions regarding this have been completed for 90 families. The government is considering an interest subsidy scheme loan scheme by including 437 disaster-affected Kudumbashree neighborhood group members in the CMDRF fund, with the government taking over the interest payment. An interest subsidy of ₹1.67 crore is expected on the loan requirement of ₹8.57 crore. Discussions were held with the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) regarding the implementation of a new interest-free loan scheme for disaster-affected families. The scheme will be implemented through Kudumbashree. A total of 1,084 families have been included under the micro plan which were prepared by considering the needs related to health, food and nutrition, education, livelihood, skill development and employment, and livelihood loan interventions. After the disaster, 28 neighborhood groups were provided with a revolving fund of ₹15,000 each. Vulnerability Reduction Fund of ₹1.5 lakh was provided to Attamala, Mundakkai and Chooralmala wards. MGNREGS extension Special permission was accorded to provide up to 150 days of employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to families here, through which a total of 12,681 work days were provided to 561 families. A total of 149 small roads, 8 drainages and 1 culvert have been completed at a total cost of ₹8.39 crore. Under the ₹38-crore project which is being implemented through MGNREGS, 236 small roads, 31 drainages, 22 culverts, 4 anganwadis, 3 cyclone shelters and 1 crematorium will be completed. The tendering of all the projects have been completed.
