EXCLUSIVE Mary Fowler looks tense as she leaves Nathan Cleary's place after worrying signs about their romance - as star reveals a telling detail

Daily Mail3 days ago
A stressed-looking Mary Fowler has paid her boyfriend Nathan Cleary a quick visit during her surprise trip to Australia amid signs that their romance could be facing difficulties.
The 23-year-old Manchester City star - who landed in Sydney last Wednesday - was photographed arriving at and departing the Penrith halfback's home on Friday, as she leaves her fans wondering about the reason for her journey Down Under.
Fowler was wearing black when she was first seen at the Panthers star's house, before changing into jeans and a blue top on her way out.
It's not likely she has based herself at her partner's house for the duration of her stay in Sydney, however.
A quick comparison of the luggage in Friday's photos and the baggage she brought with her when she flew in to Sydney shows she only took part of her belongings with her as she visited Cleary.
Fowler and Cleary have both refrained from posting anything about each other on social media during her time in Sydney, and some recent changes in the way they interact on and offline have provided fuel for speculation about how their relationship is going.
The Matildas star wasn't any happier when she left - and the baggage she was carrying told a story of its own
The Matildas star has made several trips to Sydney since going public with Cleary in November 2023 and he usually meets her at the airport - but he was nowhere to be seen this time.
Cleary's absence isn't the only unusual change to the dynamic of Australia's most high-profile sporting romance, however.
The four-time NRL premiership winner has long had a set of paw prints on his Instagram bio, likely as a nod to the Panthers.
Fowler used the same emojis on her Instagram bio - but they disappeared recently.
Ever since they got together, the couple have regularly shared and liked posts from and about each other, but that has also changed in the last few weeks.
In an unusual change, Mary didn't like Nathan's raw post about the embarrassment he felt after NSW fell to a heavy loss in the Origin decider against Queensland, in which he referenced the 'self-loathing and hurt' that come with defeat.
Cleary has also dropped the ball when it comes to liking Fowler's posts.
He last did so on June 6, when the 22-year-old posted a selection of photos, one of which featured her and Cleary, who commented, 'Must be nice having a personal photographer follow you around.'
The stars' social media accounts have recently featured signs that could point to a change in their relationship
That was the most recent time Nathan was pictured on her Instagram. She was last pictured on his account on May 13.
Fowler hasn't revealed the reason for her trip to Sydney, but the timing has some fans wondering why she didn't come down a week sooner so she could be there for one of the biggest games of her man's career when NSW tried to win the interstate series.
She has previously explained that despite being born in Cairns, she shifted her allegiance from Queensland to the Blues because of Nathan.
In the past, Fowler has also gone out of her way to back him for big games despite being on the other side of the world - as she did by wearing a Penrith jersey to mark the team's fourth straight grand final win last October.
A more cheerful detail to emerge from the most recent photos of Fowler concerns her comeback from the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.
Unlike Sam Kerr's recovery from the same setback - which has taken far longer than the year that was originally predicted - Fowler's rehab appears to be going very well.
She wasn't wearing a brace on the knee in the photographs, unlike Kerr, whose joint still needed that support when she went into camp with the Matildas in April, 15 months after rupturing her ACL.
Fowler has also posted videos showing her working on her rehab in the gym, featuring her jumping without discomfort in a great sign for fans who are desperate to see her return to the field.
'I have recently made a conscious effort to think that I don't have like a bad knee that needs to be fixed, but I'm getting an upgrade and I'm getting an even better knee,' she said last month.
'I have heard that a lot of girls when they come back … it can be up to a year to feel like probably normal again.

‘Selfless' Garry Ringrose praised after concussion withdrawal

Garry Ringrose has been praised for self-reporting the concussion symptoms that have cost him the chance of playing his first Test for the British and Irish Lions. Ringrose pulled out of a Lions team that shows three changes from the opening 27-19 victory over Australia, with Andrew Porter, Ollie Chessum and Bundee Aki given starts. On the bench Owen Farrell is poised to make his first international appearance since helping England finish third at the 2023 World Cup and he is joined by Jac Morgan, the only Welshman in the touring party. The starting XV is made up of nine players from Ireland – seven of whom represent Leinster – four Englishmen and two from Scotland. The Ireland and Leinster contingent would have increased by one had Ringrose not told head coach Andy Farrell shortly before he was due to officially announce the team that his concussion symptoms had returned. An injury that initially surfaced after July 9's win over the ACT Brumbies forced him to sit out the first Test but having made a successful comeback against the First Nations and Pasifika XV on Tuesday, he was poised to replace Huw Jones at outside centre. Instead, he will be watching from the stands with Jones continuing in midfield for the Lions' shot at completing a series victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground. 'Garry was actually selected and unfortunately after training he's had to pull out,' Andy Farrell said. 'It's head-related again. It was literally as I was walking off the field. He came to me and once that's mentioned, that's that. 'With these type of things players are getting very good at telling the truth of how they feel, so it was a no-brainer to make the change straight away. 'It's very easy to keep it to yourself and lie and not be honest and open. It was very big of him and the right thing to do, 100 per cent. For the team as well, not just for Garry.' Lions captain Maro Itoje echoed the view of his head coach. 'I'm gutted for him that he's in this position but it also shows the measure of the man to be so selfless,' Itoje said. 'All we ask of all of us is to be selfless and put the team first. When push comes to shove, you see who really does it. Garry is a man who really did it.' Had Ringrose been fit, he would have formed an all-Ireland partnership with Aki at the expense of Sione Tuipulotu and Jones, the Scotland combination who impressed in the series opener at Suncorp Stadium. Tuipulotu is struggling with a tight hamstring but the indications are that he would have been dropped even without the injury. Joe McCarthy has failed to recover from his foot problem so Chessum slots into the second row, while loosehead prop Porter is preferred ahead of Ellis Genge in the front row. James Lowe is lucky to retain his place on the left wing after a poor display in the first Test, but with Blair Kinghorn present on the bench after overcoming a knee problem Andy Farrell has a high-quality alternative ready.

Trolls call my man a ‘good looking lad' but say I'm ‘average'…I don't care, I'm the best thing that ever happened to him

A MOTHER has confidently clapped back at trolls after she was accused of 'punching' with her hot hubby. Brooke Sherbert hit the headlines last year after haters accused her of being out of her partner's league. 2 And now, the curvy mum has shone a light on yet another rude remark from a keyboard warrior labelling her as 'average.' Alongside a short clip of the influencer with her tattooed husband, Tom Leeds, Brooke responded to a nasty comment from an anonymous troll that read: 'He's quite a good looking lad whereas you're very average, so it won't last.' But the stunner couldn't disagree more with the insult and was eager to set the record straight. After being together for over a decade and sharing two kids together, in response, Brooke, who is known online as Raising Romey, wrote: 'Funny how 14 years later, he still looks at me like I'm the best thing that ever happened to him.' She then continued: 'Maybe 'average' is your word for effortless.' The couple shared a kiss in the short clip and Tom admired his stunning wife, before cheekily grabbing hold of her breast. Clearly unbothered by the remark, the mum-of-two, who looked jaw-dropping in a glam midi dress and heels, later wrote: 'I'll take average if it gets me another 14 years of this!' The blonde beauty also flicked her hair, laughed and smiled at her husband and then the camera, poking fun at the "jealous" hater. Speaking about her close relationship with Tom, Brooke previously pointed out that their marriage goes deeper than appearance. Brooke said: "We have seen so many versions of each other, we have shared so many memories, been through so much together. "We have been there for each other through the lowest lows and the highest highs. We are each other's family and home, forever and always." Not only this, but she also shared a message to keyboard warriors who comment on other's bodies, as she expressed: "To the faceless, nameless people that think it's OK to speak like this to strangers on the internet, I really hope you get the help you need to get out of that dark hole. "Do some inner work and reflect on yourself rather than project onto others." Social media users react Brooke's TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ brooke_sherbert, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it was shared just 24 hours ago, but has quickly racked up 158,600 views. Not only this, but it's also amassed 4,170 likes, 1,064 comments and 72 saves. Celeb relationships who've faced cruel 'punching' claims BUT this isn't the first time we've seen someone be accused of 'punching'. Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith Keely Shaye Smith was the subject of cruel trolling last year after trolls made a dig at the American journalist for how her body changed after 20 years and two children. Declan Rice and Lauren Fryer Lauren Fryer, the long-term partner of Arsenal player and England captain, was the target of horrific online abuse earlier this year, when keyboard warriors accused the woman of being 'out of his league'. Jay Z and Beyonce The couple have been married for 16 years, but are often met with cruel criticism from trolls claiming that 'Jay Z is punching above his weight, he's lucky to be married to Beyonce.' Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy Peter Crouch, who shares four children with model Abbey Clancy, has admitted that he is punching with his beautiful wife, as he claimed he would be a "virgin" if he wasn't a professional footballer and said: "I couldn't pull a hamstring until I was about 21. I was ridiculed by every newspaper, every press outlet, I was different. I was just incredibly tall.' Social media users were gobsmacked by the troll's nasty remark and many eagerly rushed to the comments to praise the good-looking mother. One person said: 'If this girl is 'average' then there's no hope for the rest of us.' Another added: 'Why would someone comment something so nasty. Think someone might be jealous.' A third commented: 'I just see an equally beautiful and happy couple.' Meanwhile, someone else asked: 'Average where?' Not only this, but another user chimed in and wrote: 'That comment is clearly from someone who has never had a genuine connection in their life, keep shining.'

‘The right thing to do - 100%': Farrell praises Ringrose over late Lions concussion call

Garry Ringrose has been lauded for self-reporting concussion symptoms that forced the British & Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell into a last-minute reshuffle for Saturday's Test against the Wallabies. Ringrose was slated to start the second Test at the MCG along with nine other Ireland players but approached Farrell after Thursday's training session, moments before he was due to announce his team. As a result, Huw Jones earns a reprieve at outside-centre, partnering Bundee Aki in midfield with Sione Tuipulotu - who has reported a tight hamstring - dropped. Ringrose missed the first Test after suffering a concussion two weeks ago in the victory over the Brumbies. He made his comeback in Tuesday's 24-19 win over the First Nations & Pasifika XV, coming on after 16 minutes to replace the injured Darcy Graham and proving his fitness to Farrell. Ringrose's 11th-hour withdrawal could end up costing him a Lions cap against Australia given he must be considered a doubt for the third Test in Sydney, but Farrell was full of praise for the 30-year-old's honesty which has denied him a Lions Test debut in Melbourne., 'It's head-related again,' said Farrell. 'It was literally as I was walking off the field, he came to me, and once it's mentioned, that's that. There was no incident. He was feeling good, well in advance of Tuesday, and fit and ready to play. 'No incident through the game at all, nothing yesterday and nothing this morning at all, but with these types of things, players are getting very good at telling the truth of how they feel, so it was a no-brainer to make the change straight away. 'It is actually [an unbelievably unselfish act]. I thought exactly [that] the minute that he mentioned it because it's tough to do that. It's very easy to keep it to yourself and lie and not be honest and open. It was very big of him and the right thing to do, 100%. For the team as well, not just for Garry.' Farrell has made three changes, with Ollie Chessum replacing Joe McCarthy at second row and Andrew Porter coming in for Ellis Genge at loosehead prop. Owen Farrell comes on to the bench and is in line for a seventh Lions cap on his fourth tour. It would have been four changes to the starting XV had Ringrose not withdrawn and the captain, Maro Itoje, was equally taken aback by the Ireland centre's selflessness. 'Firstly, absolutely gutted for Garry,' added Itoje. 'To play with him and get to know him over the last couple of months has been a real privilege and honour. I'm gutted for him that he's in this position. But, also, it shows the measure of the man to be so selfless. All we ask of all of us is to be selfless and put the team first. When push comes to shove, you see who really does it. Garry is a man who really did it.' Chessum, who forms an all-England second-row partnership with Itoje, added: 'For him to be selfless like that - he has to think of himself but also for the team. You know how much everyone in this camp wants to be involved with this game at the weekend and it would have taken absolutely everything from him to pull himself out. That's just testament to Garry's character and the type of person that he is.'
