Cancelled Wile E. Coyote film may be released after all
The cancelled Warner Bros film Coyote vs. Acme is reportedly close to being acquired by Ketchup Entertainment for $50 million.
Coyote vs. Acme, starring John Cena, Will Forte, and Lana Condor, was initially shelved as part of a US$30 million (£23m) tax write-off which also saw the films Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt axed.
Ketchup Entertainment previously rescued another Looney Tunes film, The Day the Earth Blew Up, which saw a successful theatrical release in 2024.
Coyote vs. Acme follows Wile E. Coyote's lawsuit against the Acme Corporation, with Forte playing his lawyer and Cena as the Acme boss.
Fans have expressed excitement about the film's potential revival, praising Ketchup Entertainment for saving projects discarded by Warner Bros.

Seth Rogen, Kieran Culkin Voice Ambitious Pigs in First Footage From Andy Serkis' ‘Animal Farm'
Seth Rogen does not have high expectations for Kieran Culkin in the first footage from Andy Serkis' animated feature Animal Farm. Serkis directed the adaptation of George Orwell's 1945 novella of the same name that focuses on a group of animals rising up against their owners. Animal Farm premieres this month at the Annecy Animation Festival and does not yet have a domestic release plan. More from The Hollywood Reporter America's Top Animation Schools Jennifer Lopez Takes Center Stage in First Trailer for 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' 'Care Bears' Movie in the Works From Josh Greenbaum at Warner Bros. Rogen and Culkin lead the extensive cast that also includes Gaten Matarazzo, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Steve Buscemi, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner, Iman Vellani and Serkis. The footage shows pig Napoleon (Rogen) bonding with impressionable Lucky (Matarazzo) when Squealer also tries to connect with them. 'Please remove yourself from this,' Rogen warns Culkin. 'We're trying to have a father-son moment.' Serkis helmed the movie from a script by Nicholas Stoller after Serkis and Rupert Wyatt had penned a previous draft. Producing the film are Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish, Adam Nagle, Peter Nagle and Dave Rosenbaum. Animal Farm has long been in the works, with Serkis' work on the project first announced back in 2011. Netflix acquired distribution rights to the movie in 2018 before later letting them go. Serkis told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 that he did not foresee the film taking an overtly political tone. The late Orwell had said that his story reflected events ahead of the Russian Revolution in 1917 and the later regime of Joseph Stalin. 'We're keeping it fable-istic and [aimed at] a family audience,' Serkis said at the time. 'We are not going to handle the politics in a heavy-handed fashion. It is going to be emotionally centered in a way that I don't think has been seen before. The point of view that we take will be slightly different to how it is normally portrayed and the characters. We are examining this in a new light.' Best of The Hollywood Reporter 13 of Tom Cruise's Most Jaw-Dropping Stunts Hollywood Stars Who Are One Award Away From an EGOT 'The Goonies' Cast, Then and Now

‘Superman' Final Trailer Shows David Corenswet 'Doing Important Stuff'
The final trailer for James Gunn's Superman isn't afraid to rattle a few teeth. Warner Bros. released the latest trailer for the DC Studios movie that hits theaters July 11. Superman stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. More from The Hollywood Reporter Ariel Winter's Friends Start to Vanish in Trailer for Thriller 'Don't Log Off' (Exclusive) Rachel Brosnahan to Lead 'Presumed Innocent' Season 2 at Apple TV+ 'The Lunar Chronicles' Animated Movie Lands 2028 Release From Warner Bros. The new film focuses on the titular superhero, who made his way to Earth from the planet Krypton and grapples with his powers while blending in as journalist Clark Kent. This trailer shows Superman being warned to 'stop messing around,' to which the superhero replies, 'I'm not messing around. I'm doing important stuff.' The footage also shows a punch from Superman knocking out some teeth, which appear to hit the camera. Additionally, the trailer includes Guy Gardner (played by Nathan Fillion) telling Superman menacingly, 'Make a move, Big Blue.' Superman's release marks a pivotal and high-stakes moment for Warner Bros., in addition to DC Studios bosses Gunn and Peter Safran, who produce this project. The film co-stars Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) and María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer). Previously released footage showed an injured Superman getting rescued when his trusty dog, Krypto, drags him to the Fortress of Solitude. After Superman thanks a robot crew for their help, one of them replies, 'No need to thank us, sir, as we will not appreciate it.' Gunn joined his stars on the CinemaCon stage earlier this year, where Corenswet discussed how he felt to portray the Man of Steel. 'It's a great honor to play a role that exists so clearly in the public consciousness,' the star said.
