Madbouly Congratulates Sudan's Newly-Appointed PM

Prime Minister (PM) PM Mostafa Madbouly held a phone call this evening with Sudan's newly appointed Prime Minister (PM), Kamal Al-Tayeb Idris.
During the phone call, Madbouly congratulated Idris on assuming his new position as head of the Sudanese government, wishing him success in carrying out his responsibilities.
PM expressed his hope for continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Cairo and Khartoum across various sectors, in a way that enhances coordination between the two brotherly nations on issues of mutual concern.
He reaffirmed the deep-rooted historical ties between the leadership and peoples of both countries, and reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for Sudan's security and stability.
For his part, Sudanese PM Kamal Al-Tayeb Idris voiced his keenness to deepen the shared bilateral relationship between Egypt and Sudan in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of both peoples.

Israel continues its genocidal war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip- the photo published by Palestinian journalists in Gaza on their Telegram channel on May 17, 2025 CAIRO - 12 June 2025: Eight Palestinians were killed on Thursday in Israeli airstrikes targeting Gaza City, Jabalia refugee camp, and Khan Yunis. Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted medical sources as saying four citizens were killed and others were injured in a strike on Al-Maqousi Towers area northwest of Gaza City. They added that two citizens were killed as a result of the occupation forces' shelling of the Bir al-Na'ja area, west of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. Two other citizens were killed in an Israeli attack on Batn al-Sameen area, south of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, the sources said. Some 103 citizens were killed and 427 others were injured in the past 24 hours, according to the sources. The death toll from the aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 55,207 while 127,821 were wounded since then.

Egypt's FM: Threats to Red Sea security directly impact global economy

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty during a meeting on Wednesday, June 11, with Annette Weber, the European Union special envoy to the Horn of Africa CAIRO – 12 June 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Badr Abdelatty, stressed the importance of safeguarding the stability of international shipping lanes and enhancing regional cooperation among Red Sea coastal states to ensure maritime security and the freedom of international navigation. He warned that any threat to Red Sea security would have direct consequences on the global economy, particularly amid the growing challenges facing the region. His remarks came during a meeting on Wednesday, June 11, with Annette Weber, the European Union special envoy to the Horn of Africa, held on the sidelines of his participation in the Oslo Forum. During the meeting, Minister Abdelatty outlined Egypt's perspective on developments in the Horn of Africa and listened to the EU envoy's assessment of the ongoing crisis in Sudan. He underscored the urgent need to protect Sudanese lives, alleviate their suffering, and preserve the unity, institutions, and capacities of the Sudanese state. He also highlighted Egypt's efforts to resolve the conflict and its active role in supporting mediation and peace initiatives. The two officials also exchanged views on the broader security and political challenges affecting the Horn of Africa. Minister Abdelatty emphasized the need for intensified international and regional cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism across the region. Addressing the situation in Somalia, Abdelatty spoke about the critical security and political challenges facing the country, and reiterated Egypt's support for peacebuilding efforts through strengthening state institutions and safeguarding Somalia's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. The discussion also covered the transition from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to the African Union Mission to Support Stabilization in Somalia (AUMSOM), highlighting the importance of securing sustainable funding and Egypt's continued troop contribution in line with its commitment to regional stability. For her part, EU Envoy Annette Weber expressed strong appreciation for Egypt's active and pivotal role in promoting stability across the Horn of Africa. She affirmed the EU's desire to deepen consultation and coordination with Egypt on regional matters to foster security and peace in the region.
