Scots wife left husband covered in blood after twisting privates when he refused sex
A woman left her husband covered in blood after twisting his testicles amid claims he would not have sex with her.
Sharon Irvine, 55, grabbed hold of her husband David as he lay in bed at their home in Blantyre, Lanarkshire.
She accused him of performing a sex act on himself and then seized hold of his scrotum and twisted it.
Irvine then called police in January this year and told them she had attacked her husband of 14 years and that there was 'a lot of blood'.
He was taken to hospital where he needed stitches for a laceration to his scrotum but he refused to cooperate with police officers.
Irvine appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted assault to severe injury. The couple are still together and Mr Irvine was in court to watch his wife plead guilty.
Depute fiscal Sinead Corrigan said: "Around 5.30pm the accused contacted police to report that she had grabbed him with his testicles and that there was a lot of blood.
"The accused then afforded officers entry and said she had contacted police because she had hurt him and done wrong.
"They then attended at the bedroom area where she was cautioned and she stated that she had heard him pleasuring himself and that had angered her because he was not engaging in sexual activity with her and she then grabbed him and caused injury.
"He refused to provide a statement but did say she had jumped on him, grabbed him and pulled and twisted them.
"She was then cautioned and arrested on suspicion of assault and confirmed that she understood before she was conveyed to Motherwell police office."

Sheriff Kevin McCallum KC deferred sentence on Irvine until next month for reports and continued her bail.
He told her: "This is a very unfortunate set of circumstances, highly regrettable and there is no doubt embarrassment on all sides but it is quite serious as whatever went on to cause you to behave in that way a quite significant injury was caused to your husband."
Prosecutors are not seeking for a non-harassment order after Mr Irvine told them he did not want one put in place. The couple declined to comment.

Heartbroken sister still searching for brother last seen 25 years ago in Glasgow
Richard Doolan went missing from Croy in Glasgow in 2001. Despite extensive searches and public appeals by Richard's family and police, no-one has seen or heard from him. A heartbroken sister has spoken of the extraordinary steps she's taken in a decades-long search for her brother, who vanished without a trace nearly 25 years ago. Jean Mahon last saw her brother Richard Doolan on March 24, 2001, in Croy, Glasgow. Now living in Dublin, she has never given up hope that he may still be alive. Richard was officially reported missing when the family grew concerned after his mother visited his flat and found his wallet, driving licence and personal belongings still inside. That gut feeling quickly turned into a nightmare. Despite extensive searches, there has never been any sign of him, reports the Irish Mirror. Speaking on Venetia Quick's podcast The Grief Pod, Jean opened up about the emotional toll of the uncertainty that has haunted her family for nearly a quarter of a century. 'When someone asks and you say my brother is a missing person, he's missing for 24 years, the first reaction from them is to say, 'I'm so sorry',' she said. 'But I actually don't feel as if I have the right to grieve because I haven't lost him. 'You could ask me today and I would be pretty confident that Richard has passed. But yesterday Richard moved to London and he has a wife and a couple of kids and he's happy there. 'And that's the difference with this type of loss because you don't know. We don't have any way to grieve, there's nowhere for us to go.' In her desperate search for answers, Jean once went as far as taking a job within the Irish Government's Department of Social Protection, hoping to find clues in Richard's welfare records. At the time of his disappearance, Richard had been claiming benefits. 'After six months I got a promotion to a separate building where I had access to Richard's files,' she said. Despite knowing she could lose her job for doing so, she checked the records. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! They stopped when he became a missing person,' she said. 'In a sense, I found what I needed to know but I didn't find what I was looking for. I was hoping maybe he had moved away and claimed somewhere else and there would be a forwarding address.' Jean described the last 24 years as 'an endless cycle of grief with a bit of hope thrown in now and again'. Even now, she admits to scanning faces in every crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of her brother. 'It happens every day. We went to Croke Park there, 83,000 people, and 90% of the time you are looking at people—the way they walk, the way they turn their head, their height, their stature—just for the slightest chance maybe you could see him,' she said. 'I have jumped and thought, 'Oh my God, that's Richard'—then it's not. And they are the ones that hurt the most.' Richard Doolan remains listed as a missing person. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.

Some 80 young men and women were at the bash, and a lot of alcohol was said to be served. The partygoers reportedly alerted emergency services after finding Cinà's lifeless body in the pool. However, mystery has deepened over her death after the family's criminal lawyer Gabriele Giambrone said the events at the party seemed strange to her. He said: "No one saw or heard anything, yet some were still wet, a sign they'd just gotten out of the pool. "How is it possible they didn't notice anything?" The lawyer said that initially Cinà's parents were not alerted about the situation, according to L'unione Sarda. He said it was only when her mum called her cell phone to check up on her, a young boy answered, saying her daughter was ill. Her mum and dad then rushed to the party house, only to find her dead. Mr Giambrone said that another key mystery was the party scene, which had zero evidence of alcohol, even though the invitation suggested there alcohol would be served at the party. The lawyer said: "The house was clean and there was no trace of alcohol. "It seems strange [because] the invitation sent to guests on WhatsApp guaranteed 'we want to keep you hydrated' with alcohol symbols next to it. "Yet when we arrived, there were only plastic bags with empty water bottles inside. Why was everything removed?" He added that Simona was a "health-conscious person" and was very careful about her diet, suggesting she may not have consumed any alcohol. Investigative authorities also found blood at the scene, which is now being investigated. One of the partygoers reportedly claimed that they accidentally hurt themselves during the bash. Cops are said to be conducting a DNA test to identify the blood sample. An investigation into the case continues.
