BEIJING, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 11, iQIYI, China's leading online entertainment platform, hosted the annual Golden Screenwriters' Night, honoring 62 screenwriters and 20 outstanding works spanning films, drama series, and animation. Now in its fifth year, the event has become a signature initiative that highlights iQIYI's leadership in cultivating China's screenwriting ecosystem, champions emerging talent, and reinforces the platform's long-term commitment to premium storytelling.
This year's event showcased a wide spectrum of screenwriting voices and styles. For example, iQIYI's acclaimed drama series "We Are Criminal Police" and "To the Wonder" received "Most Influential Screenplay" and "Most Innovative Screenplay," respectively, for their resonant storytelling. The emotionally charged film "Like a Rolling Stone" was awarded "Best Female-Centered Screenplay," while the heartwarming theatrical release "Viva La Vida" earned "Best Adapted Screenplay for Theatrical Film." In animation, the creative comedy "Oh My School Season 5" received "Best Original Screenplay for Chinese Comics."

He shared that creators are being innovative in their understanding, expression and the emotional depth in their works. He added, "What we saw in this year's works shows both a relentless pursuit of quality and a willingness to push boundaries."
Newly introduced honors this year also spotlighted outstanding writing in both modern and period drama adaptations, alongside female-centered narratives. These additions reflect iQIYI's continued refinement in celebrating genre-specific storytelling and its growing efforts to create space for a broader range of creative voices.
Since its launch in 2020, Golden Screenwriters' Night has made meaningful strides in raising the visibility of screenwriters across the industry. Reinforcing the event's reputation for professionalism, this year's honorees were selected by a distinguished panel of film directors, actors, scholars, and industry experts through a rigorous evaluation process based on criteria including thematic depth, artistic merit, originality, and audience impact.
Beyond recognition, iQIYI actively supports emerging talent through long-term programs such as the Online Film Young Creators Project, which offers funding, mentorship, and comprehensive support for promising new filmmakers. These are three perfect Game Pass games to dive into this weekend (August 8-10)

August is going to be a big month for all of us Xbox fans out there. Xbox has already confirmed it will have a big presence at Gamescom, with tons of playable demos for upcoming video games, as well as its new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds on the showfloor. That's a ton to look forward to later in the month, but there are a slew of new Game Pass games you can get excited to play this very weekend. The first wave of games has been announced and I did the difficult work of sorting through the new additions to pick out only the three standout games you should play this weekend. Whether you want a big single player adventure, a more introspective narrative game, or something that can't be so easily described, these are the games to play. Assassin's Creed Mirage Assassin's Creed Mirage is a bit of a forgotten and overlooked entry in the franchise. This game followed Valhalla and was an attempt to bring the series back to its more stealth-focused roots as opposed to the giant open world RPGs it had become since Origins. It features Basim, a side character from Valhalla, in ninth-century Baghdad as he joins the order of the Hidden Ones to become an assassin. This game evokes a lot of the same feelings as the first entry, but with far smoother gameplay and deeper systems. It wasn't the perfect return to the old formula some fans wanted, but if you're burnt out on the huge open worlds of the current games, this is a great change of pace that you can beat in a reasonable amount of time while getting your assassin fix. Recommended Videos Assassin's Creed Mirage is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Mobile, and PC. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector January feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it? Now that we've had so many game of the year contenders come out, it can be easy to forget the first indie darling of the year, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. While the gameplay mechanics and world are connected to the first game, there's nothing stopping you from jumping straight into this sequel. You play as an android called a Sleeper who rewrites their own code to try and eek out a life in a ruthless space future. Gameplay is time and dice-based, where you need to choose what activities you do in a day and spend your dice to give yourself the best odds of succeeding in said task. If you like games where you constantly feel on the brink of defeat, you'll love this. It sounds complicated but it makes perfect sense when you play. This is a game you will fall in love with for its story. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC. Rainworld For the most experimental game on this list, I had to include Rainworld. At its core, it is a survival game where you play as a strange alien cat slug thing on an alien world where you're at the bottom of the food chain. There's no direct story or goals beyond survival, but the visuals and mysterious wonder of the world and creatures make it somehow cozy. I find it has similar vibes to old adventure games like Out of This World, if that means anything to you. All the animations are generated in real time, resulting in fluid and unique movements. You can choose to play the game just a few times to get the gist, but there's a huge world to explore here if you want to fully immerse yourself. Rainworld is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

PlayStation Plus just added three amazing games you need to play this weekend (August 8-10)

I go back and forth almost every month debating whether or not the PlayStation Plus Essential or Extra games added to PS5 are better. The fact that I can never decide is a great problem to have, but I have a hard time believing that the Extra games will be able to hold a candle to what PlayStation has given us here. It isn't new, but getting access to one of 2023's best games of the year, which recently got a meaty piece of DLC, is reason enough to clear your weekend plans. Even if you're not a soulslike kind of player, the other options are just as exciting for different audiences. That's enough teasing, so let me dive right into these amazing PlayStation Plus games you need to play this weekend. Lies of P The big title this month is the hit soulslike that, to some, even surpasses FromSoftware's efforts. I'll leave that up to you to decide for yourself, but the fact that it is even a discussion should tell you that Lies of P is doing something special. This is a dark reinterpretation of the old Pinocchio story, where you play as a puppet in a world where all the other puppets have gone mad and started rampaging through the city. Combat is closer to a Bloodborne than a Dark Souls, meaning it encourages aggression and dodges rather than turtling behind a shield. The atmosphere and world are absolutely stunning, and the team clearly saw the rough edges in FromSoftware's design and tried to smooth them over. Now that it also has difficulty options, everyone should give it a shot. Recommended Videos Lies of P is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. DayZ Last week I suggested World War Z as an alternative zombie shooter, but that game doesn't have the same intense survival vibes as DayZ. This game, which has its origins as a mod, is wildly influential for both survival games and helping inspire the Battle Royale genre. You will be dropped into a huge map filled with other players and NPC zombies to scavenge for loot in an effort to survive. You'll need to find food, water, weapons, and medicine while trying to avoid zombies and other players who are looking to take all your stuff. If you've played PUBG before, imagine that, only there are hordes of zombies around the map. It is hardcore, unforgiving, and incredibly addictive. DayZ is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. My Hero One's Justice 2 For all you anime fans out there, PlayStation has you covered this weekend with a fun romp with the cast of My Hero Academia in My Hero One's Justice 2. Look, I'm not going to overhype this game because it is average at best as a game. But, for a fan of the anime/manga who wants to see some awesome fan service (not that kind) and smash your favorite characters against each other like a kid playing with toys, this game nails it. The combat system is more flashy than deep, which makes it an ideal game to snag for free to play for a weekend and then uninstall. I do wish we would get better anime games in general, but this one is at least cool to look at and mess around with. My Hero One's Justice 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
