Central govt releases Rs 1,066 cr for flood, landslides affected states

on Thursday approved the release of Rs. 1,066.80 crore to flood, landslides, affected states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala and Uttarakhand.
"Today the central government has approved Rs 1066.80 crore for flood- and landslide-affected states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala, and Uttarakhand as part of the Central share under
State Disaster Response Fund
," Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.
Among the six affected states, Assam received Rs. 375.60 crore, Rs. 29.20 crore was given to Manipur, Rs. 30.40 crore to Meghalaya, Rs. 22.80 crore to Mizoram, Rs. 153.20 crore to Kerala, and Rs. 455.60 crore to Uttarakhand, as Central share from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
These states have been severely affected due to extremely heavy rainfall, floods and landslides during the south-west monsoon.
This year, Centre has already released Rs. 6,166.00 crore from SDRF to 14 States and Rs. 1,988.91 crore from NDRF to 12 States. In addition, Rs. 726.20 crore has been released from State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) to five States and Rs. 17.55 crore from National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) have also been released to two States.

"More than Rs 8,000 crore from State Disaster Response Fund /National Disaster Response Fund has been provided to 19 states this year," Shah said.
The government has also provided logistic assistance, including deployment of requisite NDRF teams, Army teams and Air Force support to all the flood, landslides, cloudburst affected States. During the ongoing monsoon, 104 teams of NDRF are deployed in the 21 States/UT for rescue and relief operations.

90 die in April-July rain: Karnataka among 5 worst-affected states; over 3.9k houses damaged
BENGALURU: Karnataka has reported at least 90 deaths due to hydro-meteorological disasters between April and July this year, putting it among the top five worst-affected states in the country, according to figures compiled by the MHA based on inputs from state govts. Bhatti reviews monsoon preparedness
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that police and forest officials should not unnecessarily enter ROFR lands where farmers are engaged in agriculture. "The state govt has decided to provide solar pump sets, sprinklers, and drip irrigation equipment free of cost to these farmers under the Congress govt's Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme, at an estimated cost of Rs 12,600 crore over three years," Bhatti said. At a review meeting with the officials in Kothagudem Bhadradri district, Bhatti reviewed monsoon preparedness and stated that the water levels in Godavari at Bhadrachalam remain under control. However, he instructed officials concerned to implement all relief measures and ensure the availability of life jackets. C'magaluru dist officials directed to clear encroachments, address rain damages
Chikkamagaluru: District in-charge secretary Rajender Kumar Kataria has directed the district administration to remove the encroachments in the Amrit Mahal Kaval area. During a review meeting at the zilla panchayat on Friday, Kataria expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of action despite previous instructions to clear the encroached land. He instructed officials to conduct a joint survey and reclaim the Amrit Mahal Kaval area. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of action against aided schools that scored less than 60% in the SSLC exams. The deputy director of public instructions reported that notices were issued to schools with less than 60% results, and the recognition of 13 aided high schools with less than 50% results is being revoked. Instructions were given to implement a 29-point programme effectively for the 2025-26 SSLC results, he said. Deputy commissioner CN Meena Nagaraj, highlighting the rain damages, said that from June to date, 1,273 electricity poles were damaged due to rain and wind, causing a loss of Rs 2.2 crore to Mescom.
