South Korean actor Park Bo-gum has been officially named the honorary ambassador for 2025 Korea Tourism at a ceremony in Seoul on July 29.
Park, 32, who recently starred in the hit K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025), appears in three separate tourism videos, including a music video for On My Way .
Performed by the actor himself, the original song is the result of a collaboration between the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO), South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the K-pop industry.
Park said at the event that one of his favourite places is the area surrounding Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung.
'But I hope you'll also explore regions outside of Seoul. I'd especially recommend Busan, where I recently filmed (TV series) Good Boy ,' he added.
He also recommended Seoul's public bike-sharing service, Seoul Bike, officially known as Ddareungi.
'I love riding a Ddareungi along the Han River,' the star said. 'If you haven't tried it yet, I'd really like to introduce you to it.'
First launched in 2015, South Korea's tourism promotional videos, featuring celebrities such as boy band BTS, actor Lee Jung-jae and girl group NewJeans, have drawn increasing global attention, particularly following the breakout success of the Feel The Rhythm Of Korea series in 2020.
It has since become a cultural phenomenon, with its videos collectively amassing more than 240 million views across multiple platforms.
Meanwhile, Jennie of K-pop girl group Blackpink will lend her star power to Seoul, the Seoul Tourism Organisation announced on July 29.
The South Korean singer was tapped as the honorary ambassador to promote tourism in the capital city in 2025, and a campaign video featuring the 29-year-old will be unveiled on July 31.
Under the catchphrase 'Absolutely in Seoul', the first promotional video – Daltokki – will follow Jennie as she explores spots in Seoul, from Gyeongbokgung to Seongsu-dong.
The second video will incorporate her song Seoul City (2025), from her first solo full-length album Ruby , released in March.
In 2024, South Korea welcomed approximately 16.37 million overseas visitors, a 48.4% increase from the previous year and reaching 94% of the pre‑Covid‑19 peak of around 17.5 million in 2019, according to the KTO.

One of the biggest creators in the mukbang scene is South Korean YouTuber Tzuyang (쯔양), who currently boasts 12.2 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform. The YouTuber recently appeared on the MBC variety show 'Radio Star', where she shared more about her online career. During the show, the hosts expressed curiosity about Tzuyang's income, given her massive subscriber count and the average viewership for her videos. The content creator then candidly revealed her monthly income, saying she can earn more than KRW100 million (approximately RM306,340) per month. Tzuyang said, 'If you estimate my channel earnings at KRW100 million a month, there were times in the past when I made much more than that.' However, the YouTuber added that her salary fluctuates, meaning she could earn a lot less in other months. Additionally, Tzuyang notes that her actual profit isn't as much as one might expect because most of what she earns goes back to her channel and business. The social media personality said, 'The more that comes in, the more that goes out. I have a lot of employees, and I run a restaurant too, so the food costs are huge. The actual profits aren't as high as people might think.' In the same episode, Tzuyang shared her monthly food expenses, explaining that she spends a lot of money on food in her videos. The 28-year-old also revealed that she once spent KRW3 million (approximately RM9,190) on a single meal. While on the topic of YouTube income, one of the show's hosts, Kim Gura (김구라), also shared his online earnings from when he uploaded golfing videos. The emcee said he could earn around KRW30 million (approximately RM91,900) to KRW40 million (approximately RM122,530) per month. He also noted that his golfing videos have long runtimes but high retention, resulting in millions of views in total. It's also worth noting that Tzuyang has travelled to other countries to film her mukbang videos, showing the lengths she goes to for her YouTube channel. Last month, K-pop boy groups ATEEZ (에이티즈) and CRAVITY (크래비티) shared the stage, performing for Malaysian fans at the 2025 KPop Masterz in Kuala Lumpur. In one of their interviews with local media, the members not only had the chance to sample some Malaysian snacks but were also given duit raya. Duit raya in June? Why not! Here's what happened: Earlier this week, ERA FM posted the second part of their interview with CRAVITY during the group's recent visit to Malaysia. In the video, host Muna Bella told the members that a part of their song Break All The Rules had gone viral among Malaysians during Hari Raya due to a case of misheard lyrics. She then asked the group to sing the misheard line '이제 그 두 발을 내디뎌봐', which sounded like: 'Encik, ketupat rendang di depan.' Since Hari Raya had come up in conversation, and with Aidiladha, or Hari Raya Haji, being celebrated at the time of the interview, Muna took the opportunity to gift each member an envelope containing duit raya. 'Selamat Hari Raya!' she said cheerfully as she handed them out. Another highlight of the interview was when the host introduced the group to a variety of nostalgic Malaysian childhood snacks, including Tiger Biscuits, Apollo, Mamee Monster, and Nyam Nyam. Taeyoung, who lived in Malaysia when he was younger, recognised one of the foods on the table. 'Sangat Sedap!' the members said after trying the local snacks. The interview quickly went viral on social media, with fans praising the CRAVITY members for their politeness when receiving duit raya from Muna. The host herself echoed the sentiment, saying it was one of the most fun interviews she had ever done. Hsu, aged 48, passed away on Feb 2 in Japan due to complications from influenza, leaving a profound void in the lives of her loved ones. Since her passing, the 55-year-old DJ Koo has reportedly been a constant presence at her graveside in Chin Pao San Cemetery in Taipei. Rain or shine, he can often be found sitting silently for hours, a poignant testament to his enduring grief. A recent encounter at the cemetery underscored the depth of his devotion.
