Mauricio and Soto lead Mets past Giants 5-3 for 7th straight win
Mauricio had a career-high four hits, going 4 for 4 with two doubles and a tying homer from the bottom spot in the batting order. Jeff McNeil doubled twice to help the Mets complete a three-game sweep and extend their NL East lead to 1 1/2 games over Philadelphia.
Matt Chapman homered twice and drove in all three runs for the Giants, who loaded the bases in the ninth on two walks and a hit batter. Edwin Díaz struck out Willy Adames and Chapman to end it.
The Mets, who also had a seven-game winning streak in April, trailed 3-2 following Chapman's second homer, a two-run drive off starter Kodai Senga in the fifth.
Mauricio tied it when the rookie drove a 1-0 slider from reliever Randy Rodriguez (3-2) into McCovey Cove leading off the seventh. After Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor struck out, Soto hit his team-leading 25th home run to left, giving the Mets a 4-3 lead.
They added an insurance run in the ninth on consecutive doubles by Mauricio and Nimmo.
José Buttó (3-1), the second of four Mets relievers, retired three batters for the win. Gregory Soto pitched a perfect seventh in his New York debut, and Díaz worked the ninth for his 23rd save.
Senga walked five in five innings. He allowed three runs and four hits.

Robert and Montgomery homer as the White Sox beat the Phillies 6-2
CHICAGO (AP) — Luis Robert Jr. and Colson Montgomery homered to help the Chicago White Sox beat Cristopher Sánchez and the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 on Monday night. Davis Martin pitched six-hit ball into the sixth inning as Chicago improved to 7-3 since the All-Star break. Lenyn Sosa had three hits, including a run-scoring single. The last-place White Sox need two more wins to match their total from all of last year, when they went 41-121 to break the modern major league record for most losses in a season. Bryce Harper had two hits and two RBIs for Philadelphia, which dropped to 2-2 on a six-game trip. Kyle Schwarber walked three times, and Brandon Marsh finished with two hits. Sánchez (9-3) allowed four runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings in his first loss since June 8. The wiry left-hander went 4-0 with a 1.40 ERA in his previous seven starts. Eugenio Suárez says X-rays were negative after he was hit on index finger by pitch against Tigers
DETROIT (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez hopes he avoided major injury when he was hit in the right index finger by a pitch late in Monday night's 5-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Suárez, who is a candidate to be traded to a contender, was hit by a 95.6 mph sinker from Will Vest in the ninth inning. He immediately doubled over in pain and quickly left the field. 'The good news is that the X-rays were negative, but it still obviously hurt,' said Suárez, who was not bending the finger. 'There are more tests scheduled for (Tuesday) and we will go from there. I'll come back as quickly as I can.' The 34-year-old is hitting .247 with 36 homers and 87 RBIs in 104 games this season — the seventh time he has hit at least 30 homers in the last eight full seasons. 'He's very tough and he never even winces,' Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. 'When he reacts like that, you know it isn't good.' Lovullo said he didn't blame Vest. 'I don't think there was any intent there,' Lovullo said. 'He's one of the most impressive hitters in MLB and you don't want to take those type of players off the field.'
