Apple's newest app update just made following tennis a whole lot simpler in time for Wimbledon

Tennis fans can now follow every point from all men's and women's singles matches. Scores update live, just like they already do for other leagues supported in the app, such as the NBA and NFL. Fans can track their favorite players throughout the tournament, from the opening round to the finals.
Alongside tennis support, Apple Sports also received a redesigned home screen. The updated layout allows fans to customize their experience more easily. Events are now grouped by league, and users can set the order they appear in. Teams marked as favorites are pinned to the top, giving quick access to relevant scores and match updates.
Live Activities are also available for tennis matches. This feature sends real-time updates to the iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch, so fans can follow the action without constantly checking the app. Another existing feature, Game Card Sharing, allows users to share matchup cards from supported leagues with friends.

There was a report back in May suggesting that the company is working on two smart robots, one of which has a robotic arm. The new report from Bloomberg builds upon the earlier leak. The new findings confirm that Apple is working on not one, but several robot projects. The one that's going to be particularly interesting to the end consumer is an iPad-like device with a robotic arm that can naturally respond to human interaction. It can even turn to the person speaking to it. The small robot will be able to track a person during a FaceTime call and keep them in frame at all times. The device will feel alive thanks to Siri. Reportedly, Apple is working on an improved version of Siri that's able to hold a conversation more naturally and chime in during a conversation. For instance, when two people are talking about dinner plans, the robot may politely suggest a nearby place. Some believe that Apple will use the Finder logo smiley face from macOS, so it's more relatable and has a "presence" in the room. Allegedly, there are multiple teams involved in Apple's robot projects - hardware, software, AI and interface design teams, while the overall lead is Kevin Lynch, known for his involvement in the smartwatch software and automotive projects within Apple. Apple is likely working on more than just a robotic arm in the future. A wheeled robot similar to Amazon's Astro and even a humanoid model are actively being discussed around Apple's quarters. Additionally, Apple is eyeing the manufacturing industry too. A large robotic arm codenamed T1333 is under development, and it's designed to be used in manufacturing. This government no longer wants to open your iPhone's encrypted backdoor – so why are iCloud users still at risk?
For six months the UK has been trying to force Apple to open a "backdoor" to get access to encrypted data on iPhones, but now, the requests have been withdrawn. The good news comes from none other that US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who made the announcement on X: Over the past few months, I've been working closely with our partners in the UK, alongside @POTUS and @VP, to ensure Americans' private data remains private and our Constitutional rights and civil liberties are protected. As a result, the UK has agreed to drop its mandate for… — DNI Tulsi Gabbard (@DNIGabbard) August 19, 2025 The so-called iPhone "backdoor" was first discussed publicly at the beginning of February and Gabbard says it would have "enabled access to the protected encrypted data of American citizens and encroached on our civil liberties".Of course, this got US lawmakers fuming shortly after and the UK request drew strong criticism from both Republican and Democratic lawmakers in the United States. Members from both parties argued that the request could put Americans at risk. Their concern was twofold: not only could such a backdoor be exploited by malicious actors, but it would also grant UK authorities the ability to access encrypted data belonging to US users. The lawmakers even warned that forcing Apple to weaken its software would undermine the privacy of federal, state, and local agencies that rely on Apple devices to handle sensitive or classified information. In their reported letter, they went as far as describing the UK's approach as tantamount to a foreign cyberattack carried out through political means. A month ago, in mid-July, there were rumors that Britain might drop its iPhone-related requests, but it's only now that it's officially confirmed. However, for UK Apple users, the situation is not particularly care-free. In February 2025, Apple was forced to disable Advanced Data Protection in the country, a feature that had provided end-to-end encryption for iCloud backups, photos, notes, reminders, and more. Some categories, such as passwords, Messages, FaceTime, health data, Apple Card payments, and Safari browsing, remained fully encrypted. Xiaomi might give you a reason to wait before you grab that Galaxy or Pixel

And if you've been eyeing one, a fresh leak just dropped some good news about pricing, at least for buyers in Europe. The word is that Xiaomi won't be raising prices this year. Both models are expected to debut at the same cost as last year's Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro. The regular Xiaomi 15T is rumored to come in just one version – 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage – priced at €649 (around $760 when directly converted). Color options should include gray, black and gold. This is the Xiaomi 14T and the next generation might look quite similar. | Image credit – PhoneArena As for the Pro model, the entry configuration with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage will reportedly go for €799 (around $930 when directly converted), while the upgraded 512 GB storage option could set you back €899 (around $1000 when directly converted). Just like the base model, it is also expected to come in gray, black and course, Xiaomi's T-series – and most of its phones, really – rarely make it to the US through official channels. The company mainly targets Europe, Asia and other regions, with its phones usually missing from major US carriers and retailers. That said, you can still find them on sites like Amazon, though always make sure to check compatibility with US carriers before getting it. Yeah, it can be hit-or-miss depending on the global version you buy. Still, Xiaomi phones often cost less in the US compared to Europe. So if prices hold steady this year, the Xiaomi 15T could land around $599 (same as the 14T last year), while the Pro might come in near $700. For reference, right now, you can snag the current 14T Pro on Amazon for about $620, and that is for the 12GB + 512GB model. So, what kind of hardware are we talking about here? According to leaks, the Xiaomi 15T Pro will feature a triple camera setup: A 50 MP main sensor (OmniVision OVX9100, same as the Xiaomi 15) A 50 MP telephoto lens (Samsung ISOCELL JN5) A 13 MP ultrawide (OmniVision OV13B). Power shouldn't be a problem either. The Pro is rumored to pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging – an upgrade over the 14T Pro's 5,000mAh cell. The 14T came with MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 Ultra, a midrange processor, while the 14T Pro used the more powerful Dimensity 9300+ – a chip that goes toe-to-toe with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and even outperforms Apple's A17 Pro in GPU benchmarks. Chances are the new phones will carry the next iterations of these chips, but details haven't leaked just yet. At the end of the day, Xiaomi's T-series lineup strikes a nice balance: the Pro model can easily be seen as a strong alternative to Samsung's Galaxy flagships, while the standard Xiaomi 15T should hold its own in the midrange space against devices like Google's Pixel 9a or the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE.
