Sakra World Hospital to build 500-bed facility valued at Rs 1000 crore in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Sakra World Hospital has appointed Tandem Healthcare, a healthcare-focused EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company, to design and build its second hospital in North Bengaluru. Spanning 6.8 lakh sq ft, this 500-bed facility is valued at Rs 1,000 crore.
Sakra World Hospital, a 100% FDI hospital in India, is run by Japanese firms Secom and Toyota Tsusho.
The new Sakra World Hospital in Bengaluru will deliver healthcare through advanced clinical programs, including a Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Program with LINAC, MR-LINAC, Gamma Knife, Brachytherapy, and nuclear medicine, alongside specialized Interventional Neuro & Rehab, Cardiology, and Mother & Child Programs with a premium C-Suite, the hospital said.
'We are thrilled to partner with Tandem Healthcare to bring our vision of a world-class healthcare facility to life,' said Yuichi Nagano, Managing Director, Sakra World Hospital.
The new facility complements Sakra's existing 350-bed tertiary care centre in Marathahalli, advancing the group's goal to expand by over 1,000 beds in Bengaluru in the coming years.

Indore: Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board's Siyaganj Commercial Complex is near completion at an estimated cost of around Rs 22 crore. Also, a large-scale residential project is proposed on 7 hectare of Hukumchand Mill land, costing around Rs 200 crore. "An architect is already appointed for this ambitious housing scheme to come up at Hukumchand Mill land," said Indore divisional commissioner Deepak Singh. He chaired a meeting on Wednesday that included discussions and approvals for several significant urban development projects aimed at modernising infrastructure and providing better amenities. The board also discussed the re-densification of the more than 50-year-old MIG Colony and its adjacent shopping complex. This redevelopment will also include institutions like Shri Vaishnav Polytechnic College and ITI Indore. Other proposed projects across the Indore division include a rest house in Alirajpur, a janpad office in Jhabua, a PWD office and dak bungalow in Dhar, staff quarters in Manawar tehsil, Indrajeet Hostel Complex in Barwani, and redevelopment of PWD office in Khargone and the old tehsil office in Kasarawad. During the meeting, Singh directed officials to prioritise environmental considerations in all residential and commercial construction plans. He emphasised the installation of solar energy panels on buildings, implementation of rainwater harvesting, and roof water harvesting systems. Furthermore, he mandated that the ground floor of all residential and commercial buildings should be reserved for parking. He also called for development of Civil Lines for govt employee housing in all districts of the division, allocating 10 to 20 hectare of land for this purpose.

Lucknow: Highlighting improvement in the cooperative sector in the state over the past few years, the state govt said that against loan disbursement of Rs 9,190 crore by the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank in 2017, the loan amount went up to Rs 23,061 crore in 2025. "This remarkable growth highlights not only increased lending activity but also the impact of improved management practices and enhanced transparency. Through visionary initiatives, the Yogi Adityanath govt set the cooperative sector on a firm path toward self-reliance and inclusive rural development," said a govt spokesperson. District cooperative banks also reported growth. Their total business stands at Rs 41,234 crore. The combined net profit of 50 district cooperative banks jumped from Rs 36 crore in 2017 to Rs 162 crore now, a fivefold increase. Crop loan disbursements to farmers also doubled, rising to Rs 11,516 crore this year. Additionally, 13 new branches of cooperative banks have been established.
