A FORMER 1930s lido in Weston-super-Mare will undergo a huge revamp ahead of its reopening.
The lido has been closed since 2000 but had previously been Banksy's Dismaland theme park - and is set to become a new performance venue.

Plans to transform Weston-super-Mare's Tropicana into a 5,000-seater venue could be approved next week.
The North Somerset Council received £20m from the government's Levelling Up Fund in 2022 which has partly gone towards transforming the 1930s lido.
It will become a venue for culture, arts, and entertainment.
The council's planning committee will decide on whether or not to go forward with the plans on May 14, 2025.
The Weston-super-Mare Tropicana was originally opened as an open-air lido in 1937.
In the 1980s, it became branded as "The Tropicana", although the lido closed as a swimming pool in 2000.
The Tropicana stood vacant for years until Banksy, the anonymous graffiti artist, used it as the setting a temporary art instillation.
It was called Dismaland and was a 'sinister twist on Disneyland'.
It featured artwork and installations by Banksy as well as a Ferris wheel, a carousel, and a mini golf park.
Dismaland opened in August 21, 2015 and closed on September 27, 2015.

Since then, it has been used as an events space for hire.
In December 2024, it was home to the UK's largest covered ice rink during the Christmas period.
Before that, it was an interactive and immersive play attraction called Little Town Adventure.
The venue will be able to host events of up to 1,000 people indoors — and a total of 5,000 people across the whole site.
It will create 15 full-time jobs, along with hundreds of part-time jobs for large events.
The new building will be lit up at certain times with decorative displays.
The final design details will be agreed later after the planning permission stage.
Here's more on the UK's plans for Weston-super-Mare to become 'Shoreditch-on-Sea' with huge £20million revamp.
Here is a 'secret' island off the coast of Weston-super-Mare most people don't know about.

Netflix adds 'must watch' British TV comedy hailed as 'brilliant' by viewers

The ITV sitcom first streamed on ITV2 with fans already calling for Netflix to make the fifth series available Netflix has recently added a new British TV comedy show, with viewers already raving about the "brilliant" programme. The show has left many in stitches, and been labelled as a must-watch for comedy buffs. ‌ Plebs, which originated on ITV, has been praised by viewers as the "funniest British TV comedy ever made" as people rush to binge-watch it. The programme is currently sitting in third place on Netflix's top 10 ranking of most popular television shows. ‌ The ITV sitcom has a total of five series to binge, however only the first four are currently on Netflix. Fans have already called for the fifth series to be added. ‌ Plebs became a hit on ITV2 when it aired, with surprise guest stars that included the likes of Danny Dyer as Cassius the Gladiator. The show concluded in 2022 with a special feature-length Christmas episode, which saw the boys enlist in the army during peace time, before war broke out, sending them to the front line to fight for a cause they did not believe in. ‌ Fans have already taken to google to leave good reviews, with one person describing it as "the funniest, most brilliantly written comedy ever made". They added: "It's frustrating that it feels totally underrated. The characters are all so funny in their own right and the stories in each episode are final feature length film had us in tears as well as in stitches! Brilliant!! We will miss it so much!!" Someone else echoed: "Just finished binge watching the whole show and I loved it! Hate I found it so late in the game. It's a must watch!" ‌ "I've watched every episode of this," wrote another fan. "I think it's brilliant. Clever how it's an ancient setting but modern humour. Hope they make a season 6." The show has been described as a crossover between Horrible Histories and The Inbetweeners, full of juvenile humour which focuses on a group of unfortunate pals living circa 26BC amid the Roman Empire. ‌ Plebs follows the three unlucky lads, Marcus (Tom Rosenthal), Stylax (Joel Fry) and their house-slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson) as they take on the big city of Rome. Aside from all the chaos and hilarity throughout, you could also learn a thing or two about the ancient Romans. The show takes its history seriously, with esteemed historian Mary Beard said to be credited as an adviser on the show. ‌ However not everyone had glowing reviews, as some felt the show lost its spark by time the fourth series came along. One person wrote: "Excellent show! Belly laughs through the first three series'. Fell flat in the fourth series. Replacing the charm of Stylax with the horrible smarm of Jason was a huge huge mistake." "Its bonkers and there are some moments where it's far too reliant on second hand embarrasment, but it's still a good laugh and still quite a novel concept," another wrote.

Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Primark's latest pyjamas have become a viral hit 4 Shoppers are loving the cute croissant and blueberry pancake print 4 People have hit out at 'greedy' resellers flogging the PJs on Vinted 4 Some are selling the pyjamas for double the price The Printed Boyfriends Pyjamas, covered in a croissant and blueberry pancake print, are priced at £15 and available in sizes XXS to XXL. Describing them on the website, Primark bosses say: "Drift off in laid-back comfort with this printed boyfriend pyjama set, designed for those who love their sleepwear relaxed and playful. "Made in a soft pastel blue, this two-piece set includes a long-sleeved button-down top with a collar and matching straight-leg bottoms—both featuring an all-over cute, colourful print that brings a little fun to bedtime. "The shirt's relaxed fit gives that end-of day relaxed feel while the elasticated waistband on the trousers ensures a comfy, adjustable fit. "Whether you're lounging on lazy mornings or winding down at night, this set is all about cosy vibes with a cheeky twist." Shoppers have since hailed the pretty PJs as the "softest and comfiest" ever. "Got my hands on the viral primark breakfast pyjamas. They're literally the nicest softest pjs", gushed one person. But as with all viral products, the £15 sleepwear has proved difficult to get your hands on. Stores have sold out quickly and limited sizes are available on click and collect. So fans of the new pyjamas have been left fuming after spotting greedy resellers listing them for up to £30 on Vinted. Moment Primark worker yanks shopper's HAIR out amid screams of 'I'm going to kill you' in row over return One person fumed on TikTok: "Are you guys being f***ing serious? People are literally going to Primark, buying these pyjamas and then sticking them on Vinted. "And the worst part is that [the listings] have [lots of likes]. The people are actually so desperate for these pyjamas that they're favouriting them and potentially going to buy from people who are literally scamming them. "If you scroll [on Vinted] there's just endless listings. It's just greed. "You'll never catch me going into Primark and buying 50 pairs of pyjamas to resell on Vinted for double the price." Someone else cried: "People ruin everything. Just let us get a nice cheap pair of pjs!!!" "I want them SOOO badly but £30 on vinted is AWFULLL", chimed in a third. A fourth raged: "Sheer greed, if anyone pays it and postage their heads are gone lol." Meanwhile, a fifth wrote: "Sadly ppl have bought in bulk and reselling for £30 and so many couldn't buy them which is so sad." There is no rule against members selling viral items on Vinted for profit. However, the online marketplace has strict guidelines which state that commercial selling is only allowed for 'Pro sellers'. To sell using a Vinted Pro account, you need to be registered as a business. Sole traders, non-profit organisations, and companies are eligible to sign up for free. Vinted adds: "Otherwise, we may have to hide or remove listings and ban accounts if we detect commercial activity from standard Vinted members."
