France's emotional Eurovision song explained as Louane reflects on mum's death

The Eurovision Song Contest grand finale is upon us and France hits the stage, boasting a spot in the Big Five. Taking up the mantle for her homeland is Anne Peichert, known by her stage moniker Louane.
Her heartwarming track 'Maman' pays homage to her late mother, weaving a tale of maternal bonds across generations. The performance comes with a poignant twist as it features the voice of Louane's own little girl towards the close.
Though the narrative of the song is intimately personal, its universal message has resonated worldwide. The chanteuse expressed her dream to clinch the Eurovision title in memory of her mum.
Lyrics translated convey: "I've changed a lot, I've grown up a lot. From you, I kept everything, That makes me who I am."
The songstress goes on to unveil her journey to motherhood, discovering an "indelible love", and promises of eternal affection through time. "You know, the real one, always. Even when time flies, When he holds my hand, I'm no longer afraid of anything. And it feels like before, When you used to hold my hand," she sings on.
Louane has opened up in her latest song about coming to terms with her profound losses, sharing: "I'm better, I know where I'm going. I stopped counting the years."
The French star first captured hearts at 16 on The Voice, launching a career lined with both personal tragedy and artistic triumph.
At a young age, Louane faced the heartbreaking loss of both of her parents, with her father passing away just three months before her stint on The Voice. Her mother's death followed in 2014 after battling a serious illness.
It was during the Six Nations final game between France and Scotland, under the gaze of 80,000 spectators, that she emotionally rendered the song Maman.
Now an established artist with three million album sales, Louane boasts a 1.2 million strong Instagram following. Her talents span beyond music into acting, having nabbed a César Award for her role in La Famille Bélier.
At 28, she has chalked up an impressive résumé including voice roles in French adaptations of Trolls and Incredibles 2.
In her personal life, she shares a partnership with singer Florian Rossi and in March 2020, they welcomed their daughter Esmée into the world.
For Eurovision aficionados, the grand final is set to broadcast on BBC One on May 17 at 8pm, with international viewers able to join via the competition's official YouTube channel.

Vanderpump Rules spin off relocates from Italy to VERY unexpected town in the UK

It's definitely going to be a change of scenery SCENERY SWITCH-UP Vanderpump Rules spin off relocates from Italy to VERY unexpected town in the UK Real Housewives of Beverly Hills legend Lisa Vanderpump's spin-off show, Vanderpump Villa, is set for a huge shake-up for its upcoming third series - relocating from the stunning castle in Italy to a farmhouse in the far less glamorous climes of Milton Keynes. In a move that will see fans scratching their heads, the show - which airs on Hulu in the US and Disney + globally - has ditched the fancy European settings of the previous two seasons for an altogether more down-to-earth base. 4 The super-glam Vanderpump Rules spin off is relocating from Italy to Milton Keynes Credit: Hulu 4 The show used to be set in this stunning Italian castle Credit: Hulu A telly insider said: "Bosses have settled on a location house in Newport Pagnell to film the next run. It's rural and will probably look impressive to US viewers who will just see the English countryside and think it's romantic, but anyone from Britain knows Newton Pagnell is a stone's throw from Milton Keynes' city centre - a place that couldn't be less showbizzy if it tried. It's a man-made commuter city at the end of the day. "Obviously Lisa Vanderpump is British, so you can understand why the showrunners wanted a Lady of the Manor type vibe for the upcoming episodes, but you would imagine they would have plumped for a mansion in the Cotswolds, or an old English castle in Kent." The first series of Vanderpump Villa was filmed at a French chauteau and aired last year. The second series relocated to Umbria and has been shot but is yet to air. Lisa and her husband Ken, who also appeared on RHOBH, made their money owning various restaurants and clubs in London, before decamping to LA where they opened eateries and bars such as SUR and Villa Blanca. Lisa Vanderpump 'pushed out' of Vanderpump Rules as producers attempt to 'minimize' her involvement with filming Lisa then shot to fame as part of the original cast of Beverly Hills housewives, and enjoyed success as the show's breakout star from 2010 to 2019, but left the show after a series of on-camera spats with the other wives. Richard Osman takes a savage swipe at Strictly stars and reveals reason why he would NEVER do the BBC show

RICHARD Osman was heard taking a savage swipe at Strictly stars, as he revealed the reason why he would never take part in the BBC One show. The former Pointless star, 54, didn't hold back when discussing the new series of the famous dance show. 4 Richard Osman has revealed why he would never sign up to Strictly Credit: Rest is Entertainment podcast, 4 It came as Richard took a savage swipe at the popular BBC One show Credit: PA Over the last week, the buzz surrounding Strictly Come Dancing has been swirling, after the star line-up was released. The celebs taking part this year include Love Island's Dani Dyer, Nitro from The Gladiators, and Geordie Shore legend Vicky Pattison. Over the years, Richard has often been "rumoured" to be signing up, but so far he has never taken part. In this week's episode of his Rest is Entertainment podcast, he has now revealed why. "I would never do Strictly anyway," he revealed. As well as revealing he would be "too tall" to take part, Richard candidly said: "I always say I never have time to do all the training and have the affair!" Richard is referring to the dreaded "Strictly curse", that has plagued the show since day one of the show. The "curse" is a phenomenon that hits celebrities and their dance partners during their time on Strictly Come Dancing. Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, their off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result. Strictly became regarded as "cursed" after a series of very public break-ups from show participants - and ever since, more and more fan favourites have succumbed. George Clarke hits back at Strictly curse as he reveals 'real reason' he went public with girlfriend just weeks before launch Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole were reportedly the first to fall victim to the curse in 2004. The newsreader and her professional dance partner were both in relationships at the time – Natasha with Mike Barnard and Brendan with fellow Strictly professional Camilla Dallerup. However, the two reportedly have got close while on the show - something they have never confirmed. But, Brendan told the Daily Mail: "I didn't cross any lines with Natasha. I was single. 4 Strictly has been plagued by the show's dreaded 'curse - Seann Walsh seen here dancing with Katya Jones Credit: BBC 4 Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole were reported as the first to fall victim to the curse in 2004. Credit: BBC Press Handout "Camilla had ended the relationship very early on in the series so what happened, happened after that." Another famous example of "the curse" was when pro dancers Katya and Neil Jones split in 2019. Their divorce can ten months after the Russian dancer was pictured kissing dance partner Seann Walsh. Meanwhile, this year's Strictly star George Clarke hit back at the Strictly curse, after going public with his girlfriend. Just hours before the news of his participation in the dancing series was unveiled, the 25-year-old YouTuber announced his relationship with lingerie model Yasmin Amelia - also known as Yasmin Bennett. However, the star has since broken his silence over the timing, and said that he wanted "full control" of the narrative. Speaking on the Useless Hotline Podcast, he admitted: "That's part of the reason why we wanted to say something. "Because the two options were, say something. You have full control over how it comes out." George also rubbished the infamous "Strictly Curse" and claimed that it would not affect him. He then explained that he didn't want there to be any rumours or anything that could ruin his relationship.
