Nico Raskin on Real Betis transfer 'radar' as definitive update emerges over 'Brazilian Paul Pogba'

Betis are hunting midfield replacements for departing duo while Metinho looks to have settled on his next club after Troyes
Real Betis are set to test Rangers ' resolve over Nico Raskin, according to a report.

The Belgian impressed last term despite Gers falling well short in the title race and ending the season trophyless.

That's led to him being linked with moves away from Ibrox and with Raskin two years out from the end of his current contract, the window in which Rangers can realise his maximum value is closing.

Now Spanish outlet muchodeporte claim that Betis have Raskin on their radar as they hunt midfield replacements.
American international Johnny Cardoso has left for La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid, while William Carvalho looks destined for the exit door as well.
The Portuguese international failed to report last week for pre-season testing and could well be on his way to Qatar.

The Seville-based club have seemingly identified Raskin as one of a number of replacement options this summer.
It would mean forking out a significant fee however, with Gers keen to avoid repeating past mistakes and letting their best players leave for nothing at the end of their deals.
One player who won't be arriving at Ibrox is Metinho.

The player dubbed the 'Brazilian Paul Pogba' had been linked with the Light Blues and a £4million fee quoted.
However, Basel are on the brink of making his switch from Troyes permanent after he helped them win the Swiss Super League title last season.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi sparks anxious Rangers injury wait as £10m man to get quick answer over Crystal Palace scare

The Ibrox side are keen to sign the England youth international on an initial loan with a £10million buy option Wanted man Jesurun Rak-Sakyi faces a quick-fire call over the severity of the injury he suffered in Crystal Palace 's friendly win over Crawley. ‌ Rangers are keen to sign the England youth international on an initial loan with a £10million buy option. ‌ The Eagles head to Austria this week as boss Oliver Glasner looks to sharpen the FA Cup winners with a double friendly against Augsburg on Friday ahead of their much-anticipated Community Shield showdown with Liverpool on August 10. ‌ Rak-Sakyi went down on Friday night and he was substituted in the 89th minute after coming on midway through the second half. The winger spent two minutes receiving treatment before he walked off the pitch. The setback came hours after Rangers boss Russell Martin admitted he's a player both he and the club's decision makers covet ‌ Martin, speaking to Sky Sports News, said: "He's a player I like. We tried to take him to Southampton, it didn't quite happen. I like him and the recruitment staff like him, but how far that's gone... I'm not too sure. "He's a really good player. We look at all sorts of different profiles that we think can help the team, it doesn't necessarily have to be one type of profile. Players are very different. "We just need the ones with the right mentality who are desperate to come and play here. We'll see where we end up in four weeks' time." ‌ You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Celtic page, and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season. Robin Propper finally leaves Rangers as Gers confirm defender's exit after one season at Ibrox

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS have confirmed the departure of Robin Propper, bringing an end to a lengthy transfer saga. The defender has returned to FC Twente, the Dutch club he left for Ibrox last summer. The Ibrox side said: "We can today confirm the departure of Robin Pröpper to FC Twente for an undisclosed fee. "Everyone at Rangers thanks Robin for his contribution in his time at the club and wishes him well for the future." In his season at Ibrox he featured regularly, playing over 40 times and scoring twice with one coming against Celtic in a 3-0 derby win. Despite it not even being a full calendar year since joining the club, talk of Propper's exit has been rumbling on for some time. Back in April, before the Scottish league season was even over, he was sensationally linked with Netherlands giants like PSV and Feyenoord. And by early last month reports were suggesting that a return to his former club was looking highly likely. This meant eyebrows were raised when the Dutchman was involved in a pre-season friendly for new boss Russell Martin later in June, a closed-doors game against The New Saints. Just over a week ago, Twente sports director Jan Streuer said there was 'no clarity' around the situation but they hoped to get some 'very soon'. Confirming the centre back was one of their top priorities, he added: "We have money to buy players. Is that a lot of money? Twente is not a club that is going to pay five, six or seven million for a player. We are not there yet." Rangers new boy Robin Propper reveals how Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers told him to join Gers It wasn't long before a £1.5million sale was being reported as close to done, as Martin confirmed: 'We accepted a bid from them, so I think it's just a case of Robin deciding if that's what he wants and agreeing personal terms and stuff. 'I've been really impressed with him as a guy, but I think obviously we signed some centre-halves, so it's going to be difficult for him to play football. 'So I think if it happens, it's a good move for him, and if it doesn't, it will be because he's decided it's not what's right for him and maybe he'll look for something else." The delay in finalising the move has been attributed to 'negotiations with Rangers' as the player was said to be holding out for compensation. Propper still had three years remaining on his contract in Glasgow but is thought to have penned a four year deal in Holland. 4 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
