Grammy-winning singer carried out of arena after getting floored by WWE star

Metro13-07-2025
WWE fans couldn't believe what they were seeing as a country music star needed to be helped away from the ring.
Grammy Award winning singer Jelly Roll, 40, has made occasional appearances for the wrestling giant over the last year, but things were dialled up a notch at Saturday Night's Main Event.
After tensions flared during SmackDown the previous evening, the Son of a Sinner star was at ringside for Randy Orton's match with Drew McIntyre.
The two former world champions battled with Jelly and Logan Paul in their respective corners.
Eventually, Logan and the country music favourite came to blows – but there was more to come.
Despite Randy picking up a win over Drew with the RKO, he found himself on the receiving end of a post-match beatdown from the controversial YouTuber, and Jelly tried to make the save.
However, he got laid out by a sudden Claymore Kick from former world champion Drew, as the Scottish Warrior took the fight to the crossover celebrity,
Jelly instantly hit the mat and stayed motionless, before Orton had to help him backstage during the ad break.
While it was all part of the show, WWE fans were in awe of the how the singer threw himself into the action in such a prominent way.
'Drew may have knocked jelly roll brain lose!! That was a hard kick,' raved @thenandnowwrest2, while @strattonswiftt cried: 'DREW KILLED JELLY ROLL WITH THE CLAYMORE 😭😭😭 #SNME'
'Drew just killed Jelly Roll 😭,' quipped @Commanders27, and @P1Grindking added: 'Drew Mcyintre just kicked Jelly Roll's head off with that Claymore kick 🤯🤯🤯😳😳😳😱😱😱 #SNME'
It all appears to be building to a huge SummerSlam tag match pitting Randy Orton and Jelly Roll against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
In a backstage interview after the beatdown, Jelly said: 'I'm a grown man. They have gravely underestimated me. They think I'm soft – I'm not,' while he made the challenge, with Orton bringing up next month's PLE.

There has been mixed reaction from fans, but the success of celebs like Johnny Knoxville, Bad Bunny and Logan himself should give cause for some optimism.
After seeing how things went down at Saturday Night's Main Event, there are fans clearly willing to give Jelly the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do between the ropes.
'Yeah, let's see what this dude can do at Summerslam! I'm sold! #SNME #WWESNME,' wrote @TheRCWRShow.
The blockbuster tag team match will be an exciting edition to a two-night show already starting to take shape More Trending
The double header on August 2 and 3 is still three weeks away, but already we know John Cena will defend his WWE Championship against King of the Ring winner Cody Rhodes.
In the other match already confirmed, Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill will battle the winner of tomorrow's WWE Women's Title clash between Trish Stratus and Tiffany Stratton.

It's WWE SummerSlam weekend, but there's still one more fork in the road before we get to the biggest party of the summer. WWE SmackDown this evening will bring John Cena and Cody Rhodes face to face, while the Women's United States Championship and AAA Tag Team Titles are on the line. Here's your preview for this evening's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, its UK start time and how to tune into the SummerSlam Kick-Off show. So, we've finally arrived; another one of the WWE's 'Big Four' Premium Live Events is set to take place over this weekend, as WWE SummerSlam rolls into New Jersey for a weekend of firsts. Of course, the fact that this year's biggest party of the summer is taking place for the first time in its history at the MetLife Stadium is one of the huge firsts that is taking place, so too is the fact that this will be the first SummerSlam to be screened live on Netflix since the company started working together earlier this year. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Our attention can't help but focus, though, on one man this weekend: John Cena. As the countdown to his retirement continues, it's a bittersweet feeling to see the record-setting WWE Undisputed Champion at his final event, having made his debut at SummerSlam in 2004 against Hall-of-Famer Kurt Angle. Some of us hope that perhaps a rare double-turn could take place at this weekend's show, as John Cena and Cody Rhodes engage in a street fight on Sunday evening to close out this year's event. Are we about to see John Cena recognise the past year that his anger towards some fans has been perhaps extreme, and could Cody Rhodes do something unthinkable, leading to a change in cheers and boos for the pair? Perhaps tonight's WWE SmackDown, when the pair face each other before their epic WWE Undisputed Championship encounter, could give us some clues? Here's your preview for this evening's episode, the UK start time, and how to avoid missing any SummerSlam coverage as the WWE's Kick-Off show also takes place this evening. The two will meet one final time before their high-stakes Street Fight at Sunday's main event. Rhodes, also known as 'The American Nightmare', has vowed to rectify his one fatal mistake from WrestleMania 41 by never, ever hesitating against the future Hall of Famer again. This comes after Rhodes did not hesitate two weeks ago when he forced Cena to sign the contract for the match after the 'Never Seen 17-time Champion' tried to back out of the bout. Damian Priest vs Aleister Black What began as a simple disagreement over how to handle one's business has quickly transformed into a heated rivalry between Damian Priest and Aleister Black. The former World Heavyweight Champion' found himself in Black's crosshairs after he came to the defence of his buddy Ron Killings.
