'Raj Kapoor tailored…' Dimple Kapadia opens up on 'painful' process of getting…
In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, where the dazzling lives are often in the forefront, what happens behind the scenes is usually more than what meets the eye. Behind the blockbuster hits and the unforgettable characters, there are stories of personal struggle and resilience that don't come into the spotlight. Today, we are talking about one such actor whose story talks about how she was making waves in front of the world. however, what was happening behind the scenes was something nobody knew
The veteran actor, Dimple Kapadia, stepped into the film industry in 1973 and became an overnight sensation with her cult classic, Bobby. Becoming the face of a new era, Dimple's innocent face, strong screen presence, and expressive eyes captivated the hearts of millions; she even started the trend of Polka dot fashion. But behind this charming and elegant actress was a teenage girl navigating her way into the stardom of cinema by enduring pain, emotional setbacks.
In an interview, Dimple openly shared how her appearance was tailored for her on-screen presence. 'Bobby was an iconic film. The director was very special. He tailored my entire look. I had a very small forehead, so he made me remove some of my hairline, which was painful.' She further added, 'He gave me the widow's peak, and all my clothes were bought from abroad. He was very fond of Archie comics.
This also speaks about how meticulous Raj Kapor was with the details. He wasn't just creating a heroine, he was also creating a fashion icon. Dimple's outfits, especially her polka dot blouse, still resonate with the youth and have become a trend in pop culture.
But what makes her story extraordinary is that this film made her a sensation and defined her career. In another interview previously, she also shared how her struggle ended up being the reason behind getting this iconic role, 'I was around 12 and suffering from leprosy. I had a mark on my elbow. A family friend once told me, 'I'll make sure you're ostracized from school.' I didn't even understand what that meant at the time,' she recalled.
This situation caught Raj's attention. He heard about a beautiful girl suffering from leprosy and wanted to meet her. Out of that setback came an opportunity, and that's how I got Bobby.'
While Bobby marked Rishi Kapoor's debut and became a box-office hit, it was Dimple's only film in the 1970s. After that, Dimple stepped away from the limelight after getting married to Rajesh Khanna. In 1980, she again made a comeback, returning to the screen with Ramesh Sippy's Saagar, proving that she might have gone away from the limelight, but her impact still sustains.

Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta make polka dots trend again

Time to dust off your polka dot dresses and tops, as this classic pattern is making a comeback after nearly a decade. Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas attended the Met Gala in a dotted Balmain dress, and even actor Preity Zinta was spotted in a charming red and white polka dot dress at a recent IPL match. This print has also made it to runway shows for Jacquemus, Acne Studios, Alexander McQueen, and more. The pattern gets its name from Polka, a dance genre that originated in nineteenth-century Czech Republic. Polka dots grew in popularity in the 19th century and were initially seen on flamenco dresses. Marilyn Monroe sported this print on a black-and-white swimsuit in the '50s. A post shared by RODARTE (@rodarte) Designer Shruti Sancheti opines, 'Polka dots bridge vintage elegance with modern sensibilities. Their versatility makes them perfect for both minimalist daywear and statement occasion looks.' Fashion designer Nitika Gujral calls the pattern timeless: 'Polkas are adding that dash of fun to festive and occasion wear. I would love to incorporate them with bold embroideries and luxurious fabrics for a contemporary yet classic appeal.' This season is leaning towards adventurously styling polka dots. 'You can mix different colours of polka dots to make a statement. Accessories like scarves, socks and even footwear can have these patterns to make you look every inch the fashionista,' says stylist Isha Bhansali.

When is King of the Hill reboot releasing? Cast and where to watch

After 16 years, King of the Hill is making a comeback. The new season—Season 14—will be released on August 4, 2025. All 10 episodes will come out on the same day, so fans can watch the whole season at once. In the US, the show will stream only on Hulu, and international viewers can watch it on Disney+ through the Hulu hub. The show was originally created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. It aired from 1997 to 2009, and people loved it for its mix of humor, family stories, and small-town life. It's set in a made-up town called Arlen, Texas, and follows propane salesman Hank Hill, his quirky family, and his funny neighbors. The new season picks up about 15 years later. Hank and Peggy Hill have just come back from Saudi Arabia, where Hank was working in propane. But Arlen has changed. The town now has things like social media, smart homes, and delivery drones. He's trying to become a professional chef. His story now focuses on adult life, chasing dreams, and figuring out who he is. Some of Bobby's old friends are back too: Connie is a violinist living in New York. Joseph is still his wild, funny self. Chane returns and reconnects with Bobby. Dale Gribble, always full of conspiracy theories, is now worried about AI and tech surveillance—bringing in new jokes that feel very current. There's also a new high school principal, and many local businesses in Arlen have closed or changed. The show still feels like King of the Hill, but now it talks about today's issues too—like climate change, politics, and how people live in a digital world. Bobby Hill grows up One of the biggest changes in the show is Bobby Hill. He's not a kid anymore—he's an adult trying to make it as a chef. His life brings new stories about growing up, working toward goals, and reconnecting with old friends. Who's back in the cast? The original cast is back: Mike Judge voices Hank Hill and Boomhauer. Kathy Najimy is back as Peggy Hill. Pamela Adlon returns as Bobby. Stephen Root is back as Bill. Lauren Tom returns as Minh. Ashley Gardner is back as Nancy. Jonathan Joss returns as John Redcorn. Sadly, Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale, passed away in 2023. But he finished voice work for six episodes. Toby Huss is stepping in to voice Dale in the other four episodes. The new season also has a brand-new opening scene that shows what life is like today. You'll see Boomhauer wearing a VR headset, Bobby scrolling on a food app, and Dale flying a drone while warning about AI. It's a fun way to show how the world has changed, but the heart of the show is still the same. A sneak peek of the revival was shown at the ATX TV Festival in Austin on May 30, 2025. Fans loved it and were happy to see that the show still feels like King of the Hill, just with a modern twist.
