We're back to sunshine and more typical June warmth in the Philadelphia area on Wednesday — actually a bit above normal, which is now 82 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday bring mostly clear skies and a drop in humidity, though temps start to creep higher as we approach the weekend. In fact, we may actually hit our first 90-degree of the year on Thursday, making it the latest start since 2014.
Friday looks warm and a bit sticky again, with a chance for an isolated storm late. The weekend brings more cloud cover and unsettled weather, along with another relatively cool stretch.

Both days are looking overcast, but Saturday has a greater chance for showers and/or storms, mainly during the later part of the day into the evening.
Father's Day forecast
Father's Day Sunday should be cloudy and cool for June, with highs only in the mid-70s.
While the chance for showers will be around, there should be plenty of time during the day that remains rain-free for dads to hit the links, fire up the grill and spend time with the family, just know the chance is there for some rain.
Next week starts wet with temps in the 70s.

Thursday will start off quiet and humid. Temperatures will quickly climb into the 90s by midday. The sea breezes will collide this afternoon, bringing showers and storms. The beaches & I-95 will see some isolated shower activity midday/early afternoon. But the heaviest rain, like yesterday, will be farther inland. Neighborhoods along and west of Hwy 301 will be the spots to watch in particular. A shower or two may linger past sunset, but for the most part, it will be a dry overnight. The pattern Friday through Sunday is fairly unchanged, with I-95 and west being the spot to watch each day for storms. Father's Day will be partly sunny, hot and humid with a few afternoon storms. Weekend events: Tampa Fringe Fest, Polk Pride and a Father's Day market
The weekend is nigh. We've got you covered on Tampa Bay's hottest events. 🤣 Tampa International Fringe Festival: Laugh until your tummy hurts at one (or a few!) of the many shows scheduled during the ninth-annual comedy festival in Ybor City. A good one for Father's Day: "Stop Freaking Out: The Denis Phillips Method To Dealing With Weather And Life." Tampa Bay's favorite meteorologist is known for his dad shoes and generally has dad energy (probably because he is an actual dad). Anyway, buy tickets for that show here, and peruse the rest of the schedule here. The fest runs through June 22. 👔 Dads Day Market: Two words: cornhole tournament. Compete for tickets to The James Museum, plus dance to live music and indulge in smashburgers from Bellies Street Food. 11am-3pm Saturday, WonderWorks in Gulfport. 📚 The Underground Book Fair at the Jack Kerouac House: Shop books, records and art and mingle with local authors at this unique book fair in the St. Petersburg home Kerouac once lived in. 1-5pm Saturday. Admission is a suggested $5 donation, which goes to the nonprofit that owns and maintains the home. 🏳️🌈 Polk Pride in the Park: Commemorate the 10th anniversary of Polk Pride with a family-friendly celebration with tons of vendors, entertainment and a Pride flag march. 10am-3pm Saturday at Lakeland's Munn Park.

Heavy rain continues to fall across North Texas on Thursday
Heavy rain continues to fall across North Texas Thursday morning, prompting another First Alert Weather Day. The heaviest rain is falling east of I-35 in areas that have already picked up nearly 6" of rain in the last 24 hours. Ponding on roads will be a risk for some during the Thursday morning commute. CBS News Texas In Dallas-Fort Worth, the ground is still saturated from the multiple rounds of rain this week. Showers will linger in DFW through midday but widespread coverage is in eastern counties. CBS News Texas A flood watch remains in effect for parts of North Texas, including Denton, Grayson, Collin, Parker, Tarrant and Dallas counties, through this evening. In Palo Pinto County, the Santo Volunteer Fire Department reported up to 4' of water on roads late Wednesday night. Fog could be a concern Friday morning from the heavy rainfall. By Father's Day, skies will be partly cloudy with winds coming from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph. Conditions will likely stay dry, but an isolated storm will remain possible.
