The Voice Season 27 Finale Is Upon Us: Who Will Win… and Who Should?

The Blocks have been played. The Steals have been used. Even the Super Saves have been deployed. Now, all that's left of The Voice Season 27 is the two-night finale (airing Monday and Tuesday on NBC at 8/7c). Who's going to win? So glad you asked. Below, I've laid out the odds as I see 'em of each of the Top 5 emerging victorious.
Jadyn Cree (Team Michael Bublé) | The daughter of Season 25 finalist Bryan Olesen seems to have found a fan base in kids. But as effervescent as she is, she's altogether outgunned by the competition. She's lucky she made the Top 5 over Bryson Battle, Conor James, Olivia Kuper Harris… heck, at all. Chances of winning: 5 percent.

Adam David (Team Michael Bublé) | Watching Adam, it's been easy to forget that he's a contestant, not a guest performer. He's just. That. Good. And though he hasn't generated as much hoopla as the rest of the Top 5 — he had to sing for the Wildcard Instant Save — the raw intensity of his vocals cannot be overstated. Chances of winning: 12 percent.
Renzo (Team John Legend) | As the coaches have noted repeatedly, Renzo has star quality. But he isn't just a memorable image and compelling stage presence, he's got a formidable set of pipes that have allowed him to slay songs by everyone from Billie Eilish to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Chances of winning: 19 percent.
Jaelen Johnston (Team Kelsea Ballerini) | You know a contestant has some heat behind him when his coach is branded a bad guy online for eliminating him. Easy on the ears as well as the eyes, the Super Save singer could well follow in the bootsteps of Season 22's victor, fellow country boy Bryce Leatherwood. Chances of winning: 26 percent.
Lucia Flores-Wiseman (Team Adam Levine) | A frontrunner since the Blind Auditions, Lucia is poised, polished and blessed with a voice that's too uniquely tangy to be mistaken for anyone else's. She's not everyone's cup of tea, but even her detractors have to admit that she's special. Chances of winning: 38 percent.

Kelly Clarkson Was Allegedly ‘In Talks' To Star in a New Show With Ex Brandon Blackstock's Former Stepmom

Kelly Clarkson's family dynamics with Brandon Blackstock almost led to an iconic season of The Voice. But it sounds like their 2020 separation put the brakes on what could have been an amazing project. In 2019, Clarkson and Reba McEntire were 'in talks' to do the reality competition series together, according to The U.S. Sun. McEntire used to be married to Narvel Blackstock, Brandon's father, but they divorced in 2015. Still, the tight relationship between the women was something that fans would have loved to watch. More from SheKnows How Kelly Clarkson Faced Brandon Blackstock's 'Catastrophic' News That Changed Her Family Forever The media outlet also claimed the other two seats would have included Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani since they were all tied to The Voice. At the time, Shelton was represented by Brandon, so pairing the quad up together made sense. 'There were once talks of doing a family-themed season [of The Voice], it was a handful of years back, around 2019,' an insider alleged to the media outlet. 'The coaches would've been Reba, Kelly, Gwen, and Blake. The family theme being Kelly was Reba's daughter-in-law, and Kelly and Blake having the same manager at the time.' The 'overlapping' relationships would have made for a must-see season of The Voice, but as the pandemic hit and Clarkson's divorce began, the idea 'fizzled out.' McEntire and Narvel were married in 1989 and shared son Shelby, 35, together, but the country star considered her stepchildren a big part of her family. Brandon, Chassidy, and Shawna were from Narvel's first marriage to Elisa Gayle Ritter — yet McEntire always insisted that they were her 'blood,' per Entertainment Tonight in 2021. She also explained to the entertainment outlet that she didn't pick a side in their divorce — she loved Brandon and Clarkson equally. 'Kelly and I do talk, we text, and I love them both, and so I can't play favorites because I've been a friend of Kelly's for a long time,' McEntire said. Toward the end of Brandon's life, McEntire 'spent more time with the Blackstock crew,' per Us Weekly. 'They really came together,' said a source. Everything We Know About Kelly Clarkson's Late Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock

The news of Blackstock's death came just one day after Clarkson revealed her ex-husband -- with whom she shared two children -- was battling an illness. Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has passed away -- just one day after she announced that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency due to the talent manager's undisclosed illness. On Thursday, a rep for the Blackstock family announced that he died following a private battle with cancer in a statement to People. He was 48. "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," the statement read. "Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time." The news came after Clarkson -- who shared daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9, with Blackstock -- shared a statement on Instagram, in which she said she was postponing the August dates of her residency to be there for her children because Blackstock was ill. "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas," the Grammy winner shared on Instagram on August 6. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them." "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding," she added. Who Is Brandon Blackstock? Clarkson and Blackstock, a talent manager and producer, began dating in February 2012, first meeting years earlier at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006 after they were introduced by the latter's father, Narvel, who was Clarkson's manager at the time. The pair became engaged the following December, and tied the knot in October 2013. The wedding marked Blackstock's second marriage. He was previously married to Melissa Ashworth from 2001 to 2012, and welcomed two children: Savannah and Seth. Following Clarkson and Blackstock's marriage, the former became a daughter-in-law to Reba McEntire, who was Blackstock's former stepmother. The country icon was married to Narvel Blackstock from 1989 until 2015. In the years since her divorce, McEntire has remained close with the Blackstocks and Clarkson, who was friends with McEntire even before she met Blackstock. Meanwhile, Blackstock and Clarkson went on to welcome two children together: River and Remington, who were born in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Blackstock also became Clarkson's manager during their marriage, and was an executive producer on her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Among his other clients was Clarkson's The Voice co-host, Blake Shelton. However, after seven years of marriage, the couple called it quits in June 2020, with Clarkson filing for divorce. The separation sparked a tumultuous legal battle before both their divorce and custody arrangement. Clarkson and Blackstock's divorce was finalized in 2022. In 2023, Clarkson was awarded $2.6 million from Blackstock for overstepping his role as her manager in securing her work, including The Voice. What Kelly Publicly Said About Her Divorce While Clarkson kept her personal live rather private, she did address and reflect on her divorce multiple times over the years. During an interview with Today in September 2020, the American Idol alum spoke out about her divorce filing. "I mean, it's no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster…personally, it's been a little hard the last couple months," Clarkson said at the time, per Just Jared. "I've been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don't know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved." Later that month, she opened up about the split on the Season 2 premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show, addressing her divorce with her virtual audience. "What I'm dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart, it involves a lot of little hearts," she shared. "I'm usually very open and I usually talk about everything, but in this case I will talk a little bit here and there about it affects me personally, but probably won't go too far into it because, you know, I'm a Mama Bear and my kids come first." "I probably won't speak about it too much, but you will definitely will hear it musically, probably," she went on to add. "That's how I became a songwriter. Music's always been my outlet to help me get through difficult times." The following December, the "Since U Been Gone" singer shared how music was there for her amid her divorce, telling guest Garth Brooks on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that one of his songs helped her figure out her own emotions at the time. "So I'm going through a divorce and there's been like a lot of books and people always give you stuff to like help, especially when you have kids and stuff," explained Clarkson. "And I know you've been divorced as well. It's like, man, there's so much shame and guilt, and everybody sends you stuff, and I was just kind of working through it." "I couldn't quite nail down the feeling, I was like, you don't want to crap on it, you don't want to say that didn't count or matter, but you don't know what to put in it because it didn't work out how you wanted," she continued. "I kid you not, I was listening to my playlist and 'The Dance' came on and I was like, that's the thing." A few years later, Clarkson reflected on her divorce during an appearance on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast in March 2023. The "Because of You" singer said she was "on the floor crying" over the "loss" of her marriage at the time of her split. "It's like a death honestly…you grieve something you thought was forever," she said. Clarkson -- who was promoting her album Chemistry at the time -- continued, "I was trying to find a word – it might be one of the songs on the album -- that really described the whole thing. I didn't want everybody to think I was just coming out with some 'I'm angry' or 'I'm sad,' just those two emotions. This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship." In January 2024, the "Breakaway" songstress described her divorce as "extraordinarily hard" during an interview with People. "You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming," she said. Blackstock is survived by his four children, his grandson Lake, his father Narvel Blackstock, and his three siblings: Shelby, Shawna, and Chassidy. Solve the daily Crossword

Joel McHale's Biggest Achievement Is Partnering with Seattle's Best Coffee, According to His Parents

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission. Joel McHale has done it all — hosting the award-winning show The Soup for over a decade, starring in NBC's cult-favorite Community, and cementing his place as one of Hollywood's quickest comedians. But according to his parents, his crowning achievement might just be…coffee and marshmallows. You can eat them as they are or pop them into a fresh cup of joe; the choice is yours. McHale didn't just work with the brand on the campaign either; he went full McHale about it. In a short video, he's joined by a raccoon (we think a fake one?), dressed in full park ranger gear, delivering his signature wit and charm. Rolling Stone caught up with the actor and comedian to talk about the collab, his favorite summer camping memories, and whether that long-promised Community movie is actually brewing. Read it below. Coffee Roast Mallows Variety Pack $19.95 Buy Now on xo marshmallow What made you want to partner with Seattle's Best Coffee? I don't know if you know this, but I've been to Seattle a couple of times. In fact, I was raised there as a child. I grew up in one of the suburbs, and that's where all of my formative years happened. I met my wife in Seattle, and as a teenager, I even worked at a coffee cart (like one that you wheel out every morning). The culture of coffee in Seattle took itself very seriously, and I was absolutely swept up in that. God, when I die, is going to be like, 'you drank 80 tankerfuls of coffee,' and I'm going to be like right… So when Seattle's Best came to me, I was flattered. They've allowed for a lot of comedy to be in the spots. Even talking to a raccoon — and so it's been really fun, and they've been great. Seattle's Best Coffee Henry's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee | 12 Ounce Bags (Pack of 6) $41.64 Buy Now On Amazon How do you choose which brands you collaborate with? I do my Catholic guilt thing with some of the brands that offer to partner with me. But with the others that I can get behind, I still can't believe my good fortune. When I started out acting and hosting, I was just like, well, if this doesn't work, I don't know what I'm going to do. And it started working before you were born, back in 2004, and I just can't believe that brands are cool with wanting me to represent them. When Seattle's Best came up, I thought my agent was joking. He said, 'Have you ever heard of Seattle's Best Coffee?' And I was like, no, nooooo, noooooo, never heard of it. And I responded, YEAH. It's a ubiquitous, iconic brand throughout Seattle. When I told my parents, they said, 'Well, you've finally arrived, haven't you, Joel?' I was like, 'Are you mocking me? You're definitely going to be getting some coffee out of this. I feel like you're kind of scolding me about it, but alright!' Editor's note: I was born in 1995, sorry, Joel. Was there anything that surprised you about Seattle's Best behind the scenes? They care deeply, which, you know, a lot of brands do, but they are unique in wanting it to be Seattle-esque, and with all of the different flavors, they've innovated a lot. And now, with the Limited Edition Roast Mallows, they're like, 'Well, summer is the time for s'mores,' and you can just show up with a cup of coffee and throw some of your s'mores mallows in there, and you can either roast them or drink them. It's those little things that they've thought about and have developed really well. I drink a lot of it. Kusini Smores Maker $33.99 Buy Now On Amazon Speaking of camping, I've heard you're a pro at pitching a tent or two. Do you have any favorite camping memories? I went to CYO camp, and it was some of the best times of my life. There was a huge bonfire. We would roast s'mores, and we'd sing the night away. And I look back on that, and I kind of go, 'Oh, that was magic.' The day we came home is the day I started looking forward to the next time we were going to go back out there. And now I've gone camping with my kids through their schools, and once you get out there (even with all of the preparation), it's heaven. It's perfect. I can just sit back, have a fire, drink some coffee with my mallows, and the kids just love it. When you can just let your kids frolic and hopefully not get bit by a mountain lion, it's the little things. Were you ever a camp counselor? I was a camp counselor and a horse wrangler. Not wrangled like I showed up in a bandana, I would wrangle all of the horses for the little kids to get on top of and make sure they didn't fall off when I was leading them down a trail. It wasn't like Yellowstone out there. I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts. I can't shoe a horse, but I can feed it, wash it, and get it to go somewhere. What are some of your top camping essentials? Fire, shelter, and food are a bare minimum. I also bring the largest coat because even when it's warm, late at night, it can get cold. And that can even double as a blanket. A broom — that's a good one. Don't skimp on the camp stove, and don't forget the Seattle's Best Coffee. Marmot Highlander Jacket $250.00 Buy Now on marmot If you had to take any of your castmates camping, who would it be? Well, I'd like to say the entire cast, but I would bring Danny (Pudi), because he's a really good runner, so if we got in trouble, he'd run for help. Probably. Donald (Glover). I think we can all agree he's the funniest person on the planet. But then I would bring Jim (Rash) and Ken (Jeong) with me, because they're also right up there. I don't know if Ken goes camping, but I think it would be funny to see him camp. And I don't think Jim does either, but it would be funny to watch them react to that. That sounds like it would be the best episode of of all time. I actually did go on Bear Gryll's show. Did that make you rethink your entire life? Oh yeah, he had so many questions like that, and then I would of course make fun of them. I was like, 'Don't start this, Bear.' I'm not going to cry! I'm not going to cry in this slot canyon here. Let's go eat a lizard or something. He's the real deal, he's on top. He also knows all the camera angles and lighting. He knows all that stuff as it's happening. It's pretty impressive. The North Face Wawona 6 Tent $550.00 Buy Now on rei What about any updates on the movie or a revival? Is there anything you can tell us? We're doing the musical revival. Yep, on Broadway. It's gonna be very exciting. Andrew Rannells is playing me. NO! But yes, the movie is going to happen because we have the money now. It really is a matter of scheduling, and I am pretty hopeful it's happening in the new year. Just as long as the audience is okay with me getting much older. Your show, became a cultural phenomenon, and afterward, we saw other series emerge that followed the same format. Did you find that flattering, or did it piss you off? I was annoyed that they outrated me and continued to. But Greg Kinnear was the real inventor of the format and some E! executive, and he worked it out way back in 1991. My addition to that format was basically not making it a daily show and just making it a weekly show. And then, when reality shows came in, it was the new frontier. It was open. And they were the craziest shows on television, like Flavor of Love, or Being Bobby Brown, or like Britney Spears just having video cameras given to her and Kevin Federline. Reality shows don't really happen anymore. They're all really careful now, like we know exactly what we're getting into with Love Island. And everything is so instantaneously commented upon, no one is going to wait a week to see what I think of RuPaul's Drag Race. When I was making that show (The Soup), we thought we were going to be canceled every week, and all of a sudden it started working, and I couldn't believe it. It was a time when we were just making jokes to ourselves. I always kind of followed Conan O'Brien (I'm no Conan O'Brien, I wish), and every night, he even said we were going to be cancelled. And I was like, 'Oh, that's how we feel.' It was good times, and I can't believe how lucky I am. Best of Rolling Stone The Best Audiophile Turntables for Your Home Audio System
