(Video) JJ Lin's Quick Action Helped Avert Mishap After A Dancer Fell During Concert

Hype Malaysia27-05-2025

Many accidents have happened during concerts which left fans in fear of their idols' safety. Recently, an incident happened during JJ Lin's (林俊杰) concert in Hong Kong, which could've ended horribly if it wasn't for the star's quick action.
Over the weekend, the Singaporean star performed at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong as part of his 'Final Lap' concert tour. During the show on 25th May (Sunday), an incident happened that had netizens worried. As shown in videos, JJ Lin was ascending onto the stage via a stage lift when a nearby dancer suddenly fell into the hole. As the stage was in motion, the dancer could've gotten caught in the gap between the stage, resulting in a horrible accident.
Thankfully, JJ Lin swiftly reached out to help the dancer back on their feet. The dancer quickly recovered and resumed the choreography. After ensuring his team was okay, JJ Lin continued his performance, showcasing his professionalism. Despite the terrifying moment, the performance went on as usual, highlighting the fortunate outcome of the incident. The video then went viral on social media, drawing netizens' attention.
In the comments, many expressed concern for JJ Lin and his dancers' safety. Some said it was fortunate the dancer's leg didn't get caught in the gap. Many fans also praised JJ Lin's quick action, saying he helped prevent a disaster. Others also lamented the dangers of some stage designs, arguing that the stage crew should have better planning to avoid such incidents.
This incident isn't the first time someone has fallen into a gap on the stage. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and Hong Kong star Andy Lau (劉德華) all have fallen into a hole on stage during their concerts. However, in all three incidents, the holes on the stages weren't supposed to be left open, sparking anger towards concert staff for the lack of safety measures.
Like many fans, we're glad that JJ Lin and his dancer weren't affected by the incident, but we hope the star and his team will be more vigilant. What are your thoughts on this?

They started dating in 2017, making their first public appearance in 2018, and were later reportedly engaged. In August 2024, Johnson refuted break-up rumours, assuring they were 'happily together'. Elon Musk is not the father of my kids: Ayumi Hamasaki sets the record straight

Ayumi Hamasaki went on social media earlier this week to quash rthe umours that Elon Musk is her baby daddy. Photos: Ayumi Hamasaki/Instagram, AP Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki would like you to know that Elon Musk is not the father of her two children, thank you very much. This misunderstanding stemmed from a New York Times article in late May, where one of Musk's ex-flames, Ashley St. Clair, said that the American billionaire had fathered the child of "a Japanese pop star". Some netizens believe it's Japanese TV personality Tenka Hashimoto, while others suspect it's 46-year-old Hamasaki. For the record, Musk, 53, has already fathered 14 children with several different women. Hamasaki went on social media earlier this week to quash the rumours. 'I've been keeping an eye on this, and I guess it's time for me to speak up. Elon Musk is not the father of [either of] my kids," the singer said on Instagram on June 2. The J-pop star, who has been married twice, has two children aged six and four. She has remained tight-lipped about their father's identity. Hamasaki is more amused than upset at the rumours. She said: "I mean, I can understand if someone were to think it seems like the sort of thing I'd do. Even my mum laughed when she heard the rumours, saying, 'This seems kind of Ayu-like'." Hamasaki added that she felt the need to set the record straight for the sake of her children. 'Setting aside my personal image, when my kids are old enough to start Googling things I don't want them to run into the rumours and think they're true, so I'm firmly denying them," she said.

Sailing-SailGP rides rising tide with celebrity owners, brands

FILE PHOTO: SailGP F50 team Canada competes in front of the Statue of Liberty after the start of the finals race during the SailGP sailboat racing event won by team New Zealand in New York Harbor, New York City, U.S. June 23, 2024. REUTERS/Mike Segar/File Photo NEW YORK (Reuters) -With new celebrity owners and a bevy of fresh sponsors, SailGP hopes to harness a wave of popularity and take the global sailing championship to the next level as it steers back to New York City to race for a third time this weekend. SailGP announced actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as new owners of Australia's three-time champion team on Thursday, just as the ink was drying on the team's first title sponsor deal with BONDS. Reynolds led beleaguered soccer side Wrexham out of obscurity and into the English second-tier Championship with an injection of marketing wizardry, cash and a popular docu-series that quickly converted legions of American fans. SailGP is hoping for their Wrexham moment, too. "The fact that we can get that sort of involvement in one of the teams is amazing, and they'll have some fun with it too, which is what it's all about," Russell Coutts, the former Olympic champion who co-founded the league, told Reuters. It was the kind of news to which fans have become accustomed, as the operation co-founded by billionaire Larry Ellison catches fire with A-listers and snares more big-name brands six years after its launch. Oscar winner Anne Hathaway joined a female-led consortium that acquired the Red Bull Italy SailGP Team last week, while the competition itself named Rolex its title sponsor in November. More than 200,000 ticketholders watched SailGP events last year, as the league reported strong growth in social media engagement, snaring younger fans. The competition expanded to 12 teams for season five, with the addition of Brazil and Italy, and announced its new docuseries last month, part of a new content development push. "We had so many sort of naysayers out there saying this is like another sailing league, it'll be gone in two years, people have tried this and done it before, it never works and SailGP has totally broken down those boundaries," said Tom Slingsby, the CEO and driver for the Australian team. The 2012 Olympic gold medallist, whose team was rebranded as the BONDS Flying Roos, said he could not have imagined five years ago his team signing an iconic brand like BONDS, as they mull potential documentary options with Jackman and Reynolds. "I would have said that's not possible. There's no chance," he said. "But here we are." The leaders in the SailGP standings are not the only winners in the sponsorship race: On Monday, the U.S. SailGP team announced Amazon has signed on as a sponsor, joining existing brands like Tommy Hilfiger and T-Mobile. "You're starting to see really big brands come in and spend money in our sport," said Mike Buckley, the CEO and strategist for the U.S. SailGP team. "We're on everybody's radar now." Buckley put his money where his mouth is in 2023, helping lead a group of investors in the purchase of the U.S. team, locking in early for the league that hopes to become the "F1 of sailing". "Larry Ellison and Russell Coutts had a vision to build a TV product that the average racing fan would spend 90 minutes paying attention to," he said. "And I think they've done just that." The New York Sail Grand Prix is set for June 7-8. (Reporting by Amy Tennery in New YorkEditing by Christian Radnedge)
