(Video) JJ Lin's Quick Action Helped Avert Mishap After A Dancer Fell During Concert
Many accidents have happened during concerts which left fans in fear of their idols' safety. Recently, an incident happened during JJ Lin's (林俊杰) concert in Hong Kong, which could've ended horribly if it wasn't for the star's quick action. Over the weekend, the Singaporean star performed at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong as part of his 'Final Lap' concert tour. During the show on 25th May (Sunday), an incident happened that had netizens worried. As shown in videos, JJ Lin was ascending onto the stage via a stage lift when a nearby dancer suddenly fell into the hole. As the stage was in motion, the dancer could've gotten caught in the gap between the stage, resulting in a horrible accident. Thankfully, JJ Lin swiftly reached out to help the dancer back on their feet. The dancer quickly recovered and resumed the choreography. After ensuring his team was okay, JJ Lin continued his performance, showcasing his professionalism. Despite the terrifying moment, the performance went on as usual, highlighting the fortunate outcome of the incident. The video then went viral on social media, drawing netizens' attention. In the comments, many expressed concern for JJ Lin and his dancers' safety. Some said it was fortunate the dancer's leg didn't get caught in the gap. Many fans also praised JJ Lin's quick action, saying he helped prevent a disaster. Others also lamented the dangers of some stage designs, arguing that the stage crew should have better planning to avoid such incidents. This incident isn't the first time someone has fallen into a gap on the stage. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and Hong Kong star Andy Lau (劉德華) all have fallen into a hole on stage during their concerts. However, in all three incidents, the holes on the stages weren't supposed to be left open, sparking anger towards concert staff for the lack of safety measures. Like many fans, we're glad that JJ Lin and his dancer weren't affected by the incident, but we hope the star and his team will be more vigilant. What are your thoughts on this? JJ Lin Braves Heavy Rain To Perform For 50k Fans At Bukit Jalil Stadium
No rain can stop Mandopop icon JJ Lin (林俊杰)! The singer recently concluded his long-awaited 'Final Lap' concert in Kuala Lumpur, where 50,000 fans sang and danced their hearts out under the pouring rain. On 10th May (Saturday), JJ Lin performed at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for his 'Final Lap' concert in Kuala Lumpur. The sold-out show is the star's first local performance in over two years, so it's no surprise that the crowd was excited throughout the night. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating, and it started raining heavily halfway through the concert. Some fans pulled out their raincoats and even went into sheltered areas to avoid the downpour. However, the singer wasn't going to let the rain stop him, and he braved the weather to continue performing for his fans. At one point, he even shouted out, 'I will be with you' to his fans out of gratitude for them standing under the pouring rain to watch him perform. Despite the slippery conditions of the stage, JJ Lin continued running and dancing around the stage, winning over the crowd with his dedication to his performance. Malaysian singer Rynn Lim (林宇中) was also at the show as the concert's special guest. The singer sparked laughter when he kneeled in front of JJ Lin, saying he felt guilty about the pouring rain. However, after Rynn promised to 'stop' the rain, the downpour gradually subsided, which surprised fans at the stadium. During the concert, the two stars spoke fondly about their friendship and performed their 2020 duet track, 'Rose'. The concert reportedly attracted fans from other countries, including China and Singapore. JJ Lin's mother was also in attendance, allowing the singer to celebrate Mother's Day with her in KL. Following the rollercoaster of a show, JJ Lin took to Instagram to share his gratitude for his fans. In his post, the singer wrote, 'I was deeply moved by the wave of 50,000 of you – drenched, but still singing and dancing your hearts out.' The concert surely seemed like a night to remember! We can't wait for JJ Lin to return to Malaysia – and hopefully, the weather will be kinder when that time comes. Source: China Press, Instagram

Singapore makes history as Lion City Sailors triumph against Sydney FC — but where can they play the final?
SINGAPORE, April 17 — Singapore Premier League side Lion City Sailors FC made national history yesterday by becoming the first local team to reach the final of a continental tournament, after qualifying for the AFC Champions League 2 final. Despite a 0-1 defeat to Sydney FC in the second leg, the Sailors advanced 2-1 on aggregate thanks to a surprise 2-0 victory over the Australian club earlier this month. With the East region team set to host the final on May 18, fans are now left wondering: where will the match with United Arab Emirates' Sharjah FC be held? Ordinarily, a match of this scale would be played at the 55,000-capacity National Stadium in Kallang. However, the venue has already been booked for the Asia stop of Lady Gaga's The Mayhem Ball tour on May 18, 19, 21, and 24. As a result, the Sailors may have to host the final at Jalan Besar Stadium (JBS), where they previously defeated Sydney FC. The venue, however, accommodates just over 7,000 spectators. According to The Straits Times, Asian Football Confederation officials will meet with representatives from the Football Association of Singapore to assess whether JBS meets the tournament's hosting requirements. Bishan Stadium — the Sailors' home ground since 2023 — is also under consideration, although it holds just over 6,000 fans. Back in December 2024, Singaporean fans were already left frustrated when the national team had to play Vietnam in the Asean Football Championship semi-final at JBS, as the National Stadium was booked for local singer-songwriter JJ Lin's two-night concert just days later. Singapore's Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong later explained in a written parliamentary reply that this was due to the competition's original dates being set from November 23 to December 21, rather than starting on December 26. Fans on Reddit community r/singapore have since floated suggestions, including playing the final at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium — the home ground of Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim across the Causeway. Located in Iskandar Puteri, Sultan Ibrahim Stadium has a capacity of 40,000. JBS is currently the home ground of local development club Young Lions, but is also shared with three other Singapore Premier League clubs: Hougang United, BG Tampines Rovers, and Geylang International.
