Inter Milan Duo Included In 30-Player Shortlist For FIFA Ballon D'Or

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and wingback Denzel Dumfries are both on the thirty-player shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d'Or. The football governing body have officially released the shortlist for the award for the best player in men's football for the past season. FIFA have officially unveiled the shortlist of nominees for the 2025 Ballon d'Or. Here are the 2025 Ballon d'Or nominees!#ballondor — Ballon d'Or (@ballondor) August 7, 2025 Last year, there were two Inter players on the shortlist. They were Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu. (Photo by) Once again, this year there are two Nerazzurri players on FIFA's shortlist for the award. Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez may not have won any silverware this year, as he had won the Serie A title and Copa America in 2024. Furthermore, the 27-year-old was not as prolific in Serie A as is his usual standard. He scored just twelve goals in the Italian top flight, down from the previous campaign in which he was the division's top scorer. However, where Martinez really shone was in the Champions League. Unlike in previous seasons, the Inter captain was absolutely outstanding and decisive in the knockouts of Europe's biggest club competition. Martinez scored decisive goals in knockout ties against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. These capped off excellent overall displays, even despite the fact that Martinez was struggling with injuries. Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries was another player who shone for Inter in Europe. The Dutchman was arguably Inter's outstanding player in the semifinals against Barcelona. Dumfries brought goals and a nearly unstoppable outlet down the right flank for Inter throughout the season. Therefore, FIFA has decided to recognized Dumfries on the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or for the first time.

Another Twist – Cagliari Overtake Parma In The Race For Inter Milan Striker

Cagliari have reportedly gotten back ahead of Parma in the race to sign Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito. This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. The past couple days have seen a real tug-of-war emerge regarding Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito. It has always seemed clear that the Italy Under-21 international would leave Inter for good this summer. Esposito has gone out on a string of loan moves. Last season he was on loan at Empoli. But this summer, Inter are keen to sell Esposito outright once and for all. Video: Jashari ‘childhood dream come true' at Milan

Ardon Jashari reveals that joining Milan is 'a childhood dream come true' and that he 'gave my word' to the Rossoneri, rejecting all other offers to Club Brugge. 'It's incredible.' The midfielder was the subject of months of speculation and a tug of war between the two clubs, but a deal was finally found and he put pen to paper last night. 'It's an amazing feeling to be here after the last weeks, finally I'm here, and I am really really proud to be part of this football club,' he told the official Milan website. 'I want to bring the club where it belongs, to win titles, to win games, and for that I will give everything.' Jashari only wanted Milan Official: Ardon Jashari joins AC Milan in a permanent deal from Club Brugge (picture via It is no secret that other sides had been prepared to pay more, both in terms of the transfer fee and his salary, but Jashari had his heart set only on the Rossoneri and turned down any other candidates. 'When AC Milan was interested in me, I was first of all proud. It was the project I wanted to take together with my family. When I decided I wanted to join AC Milan, I gave my word. 'It was also a childhood dream, it was always in my circle of friends and family, the club was always remembered in our family, so it is a dream come true.' The love came from a childhood visit to San Siro to watch a game, which is where he fell in love with the Diavolo. Jashari is a versatile midfielder who can contribute both in defence and attack, bringing something different to Max Allegri's squad. 'I can bring a big impact of physicality. I will help the team offensively, but also defensively, and try to give the last pass to score a lot of goals. I think these are the main points where I can help the team.' Having been a Milan supporter since childhood, who are the players from the past that he most admired? 'Roberto Baggio and Andrea Pirlo are the players who I really like, how they play, they are really technically strong, but also the last pass, the creativity, that is what I also try to do in my style of play.' Ardon Jashari arrives for Milan (Sky Sport Italia) Now Jashari will be teammates with legend Luka Modric, who arrived as a free agent after more than a decade at Real Madrid. 'It's an amazing feeling that he is also part of this team. To start my era here with such an amazing player who achieved so many big things in the history of football. It can only help me, I want to listen to him, how he is and all his experience, on the pitch, but also off the pitch.' Jashari chose the Number 30 jersey and looking at his name on the Milan shirt still gives him goosebumps. 'To be honest, it's really difficult to describe it in words. It's just an amazing feeling, it's incredible that I am part of this amazing club. What I want to achieve with this club is to give my part and to bring this club where it belongs. I will give everything to make it great again,' explained the Switzerland international. 'I started with Number 30 at my academy club and I chose it because I love to see Lionel Messi and other players. I saw 30 was free and I knew that he started with this number. It brought me luck in Switzerland and Belgium, so I hope it brings me luck here too.'
