3 teens arrested after deadly shooting in Panama City Beach
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – The Panama City Beach Police Department has arrested three teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night.
According to a news release, authorities working in the area of the Waffle House located at 10327 Front Beach Road, heard gunfire coming from the parking lot shortly after 10 p.m.
Authorities responded quickly and found 19-year-old Ja'Dion Love Hughes suffering from a gunshot wound. Hughes was taken to Ascension Sacred Heart, where he later died from the injuries.
The course of the investigation revealed that a physical altercation happened in the Waffle House parking lot over the purchase of an illegal firearm.
Authorities said that during the altercation, 18-year-old Ja'Zai Mitchell allegedly shot and killed Hughes.
After the shooting, 18-year-old Kiydre McCullough attempted to dispose of the weapon by hiding it in bushes nearby before he fled the scene with Mitchell in a red Chevrolet Camaro.
The authorities said that as the suspects were fleeing, Mitchell disposed of another firearm by throwing it from the vehicle into the shoulder of the road.
Soon after, authorities located and stopped the vehicle, taking Mitchell and McCullough into custody.
Mitchell is being charged with Second Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Tampering with Evidence and Grand Theft of a Firearm.
McCullough is being charged with Accessory After the Fact to Second-Degree Murder, Accessory After the Fact to Attempted Murder and Tampering with Evidence.
The third suspect, a 16-year-old, is being charged with Violation of Probation and has been transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice for processing.
Mitchell and McCullough have been transported to the Bay County Jail to await their first appearance.

Musk says SpaceX will no longer decommission Dragon spacecraft despite Trump feud
Elon Musk said Thursday he changed his mind about decommissioning SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft after a user on the social platform X suggested he 'cool off and take a step back' amid his public blowout with President Trump. 'Ok we won't decommission Dragon,' Musk wrote Thursday night in response to the user. Just hours earlier, Musk said SpaceX, his aerospace company, would ground Dragon, the spacecraft NASA uses to service the International Space Station. 'In light of the President's statement about cancellation of my government contracts, @SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft immediately,' Musk said Thursday afternoon. Musk's post included a screenshot of a threat from Trump to eliminate billions of dollars in federal contracts and subsidies the tech billionaire's companies receive. But by Thursday night, the blowout appeared to be calming down. One X user replied to Musk's afternoon post, 'This is a shame this back and forth. You are both better than this. Cool off and take a step back for a couple days.' Musk replied, 'Good advice,' and said he would not decommission Dragon. Dragon, as described by SpaceX, is the 'only spacecraft currently flying that is capable of returning significant amounts of cargo to Earth and is the first private spacecraft to take humans to the space station.' Musk's change of mind was a relief for many in the aerospace community, as NASA has become increasingly reliant on SpaceX for space operations. The decommissioning of Dragon could risk the Trump administration's ability to bring astronauts and cargo back and forth between the space station and Earth. NASA press secretary Bethany Stevens said in a post on X that the agency 'will continue to execute upon the President's vision for the future of space. Third arrest made in connection with deadly 2023 shooting in DC
WASHINGTON () — D.C. police announced that a third person was arrested following a months-long homicide investigation into a shooting that happened in Southeast. This arrest comes nearly two years after 39-year-old Dwayne Barbour, of Southeast, was shot and killed. On Dec. 20, 2023, just before 9 p.m., officers were called to the 2900 block of Knox Place, where Barbour had been shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he died on Dec. 31, 11 days after the shooting. Man attacked for protecting Pride decorations in Dupont Circle On Aug. 16, 17-year-old Rayon Davis Jr. and 17-year-old Quintin Reed were taken into custody in connection with Barbour's death. They were charged with first-degree murder while armed-felony murder. About 10 months later, officers said they obtained an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Avery Taylor in connection with the case.
