New-season styles are hitting the high st & these are the pieces our fashion editors are buying before they sell out

The Sun5 days ago
THE UK is gearing up for another heatwave, but our favourite high-street brands are already thinking ahead.
So although we won't be folding away our summer staples just yet, sale season is drawing to a close, and in its place the high street is beginning to drop new-season collections already.
There's a fresh wave of transitional pieces arriving in-store and online this week and our fashion editors have been keeping a close eye to curate an edit of their favourite pieces.
And it's safe to say we're impressed.
Think lightweight knits ideal for layering, along with great woven bag dupes and even footwear is experiencing a seasonal refresh as new styles hit the shelves.
So whether you're looking for a wardrobe refresh ahead of autumn or just want to bag the best pieces before they sell out, now is the perfect time to start browsing, as these top picks won't hang around for long.
Clemmie Fieldsend, 35, Fashion Editor
As much as I hate to wish summer away, seeing new transitional pieces for autumn makes me happy.
I stopped in my tracks, well, mid-scroll, when I saw this River Island jumper on my screen.
The tie neck and lightweight knit makes it look so premium, as does this Primark bag, which is a double for designer brand Dragon Diffusions' £440 style - what a saving at just £14!
A splurge would be this suede Mint Velvet skirt.
Suede isn't going anywhere for autumn and I can wear this midi style now, in the winter and for years to come, so I'll definitely get my money's worth.
Fashion lovers rush to M&S to snap up perfect pumps that are 'so pretty' for summer - and they come in various colours to match your vibe
I've surprised myself with how much I like these suede tie ballerinas from Zara, not something I'd ever consider going for but the neutral, subtle colour and trainer laces are calling me - and I love them.
Finally, I keep seeing Bambi print pop up here, there and everywhere, so I'll be snapping up this T-shirt shaped dress from M&S to get ahead of the trend before it kicks off - and before the dress sells out.

The high street is starting to drip feed its new-season stock, meaning now is the perfect time to get ahead of the game and purchase pieces that are to be a sure fire hit, before they sell out.
I'm loving all the shades of brown that are coming through for the new season, and this blazer from Next is already on lots of people's radar.
Brown suede blazers were all the rage last season and this dark chocolate shade is a new update.
Argyle is a pattern trickling through to the high street from the catwalks, and this one is a steal at just £20 from Tu Clothing at Sainsbury's.
And if you're in the market for a pair of on-trend trainers but you don't want to spend hundreds of pounds, then this pair from H&M is just £32.99!
Emily Regan, 25, Fashion Assistant
As much as I love my summer wardrobe, I'm an autumn girl at heart - so I was thrilled to see new-season styles are hitting the high street already.
I've learned the hard way that the best pieces often drop early and then sell out quickly - that was the case with this gorgeous suede bag from Next, so I'm really pleased that it's relaunched this year.
The same goes for George at ASDA's viral leopard-print puffer coat - this year's is a different shape but in the same Ganni-inspired print - and it's already sitting in my wardrobe for when it starts to get chillier outside.
I've also got my eye on the latest New Balance 204L shoes - they're a great dupe for the Miu Miu collab at a fraction of a cost.
They're tipped to be the next It-girl trainers, but they're selling fast so keep an eye out for restocks and be sure to set a reminder!

Romeo Beckham shuns first class on Jet2 flight as Brooklyn bonds with billionaire in-laws

Former footballer Romeo Beckham was spotted getting on a budget airline flight in Birmingham as his older brother Brooklyn Beckham snubbed his family at his vow renewals Romeo Beckham had Jet2 passengers doing a double take as he was spotted patiently waiting for a budget flight rather than his parent's private jet. The son of David and Victoria Beckham kept a low profile as he opted for a cheap getaway. ‌ He has millions in the bank thanks to his famous mum and dad, but donned a black hoodie and matching jogging bottoms as he queued up with fellow passengers. Romeo kept busy on his phone as he was snapped waiting by barriers at Birmingham Airport. ‌ The former footballer was then snapped on the plane as he took a window seat for the journey. It comes after Romeo and his famous family were snubbed from brother Brooklyn's vow renewals to Nicola Peltz, with his billionaire father-in-law officiating the service. ‌ Romeo wore a black beanie hat and kept his headphones in as he flew to France. He was captured in zmj703's TikTok video, with many fans stunned he chose to fly with the budget airline. However, it seemed to be his expensive choice of luggage that gave the game away for him. One said: "Blending in with thousands and thousands of pounds worth of bags." ‌ Another added: "Just shows he's normal like the rest of us..." It seems Romeo is keen to keep busy and focus on doing his own thing as his family's feud rumbles on. Earlier this month, Brooklyn and his wife of three years Nicola decided to renew their vows but only in front of her family. Not only were his parents David and Victoria in the dark, but so too were his three siblings Cruz, Harper and Romeo, as well as his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. None of Brooklyn's UK-based friends were invited to the Los Angeles-based service and it is thought the first everyone knew about the service was when they read about it in media reports. ‌ A source told the Mirror: 'It must have been very upsetting to find out this way.' This week, Nicola and Brooklyn revealed photos of their special day as they flooded their social media with the snaps. "We just wanted a really beautiful experience — a really cute memory," Brooklyn told People about the decision. "To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her. ‌ "I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they're going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person. Yeah, it was really, really cute. It was really fun." Nicola's billionaire dad Nelson took on a starring role as officiant, three years on from their $3million bash at the Peltz family's sea front estate in Florida. It's understood that their estrangement from Brooklyn's family was first sparked on their big day, with reports of disagreements with Victoria over the wedding gown and a song choice she was said to have 'stolen' from the couple. Signs of a rift have steadily been showing between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckhams, with cracks having already been spotted at the pair's original wedding. Since then, Brooklyn has opted to shun his family, going as far as to snub his own father's 50th birthday plans and his knighthood. His brothers Romeo and Cruz are no longer appearing to follow Brooklyn on social media.

Christine McGuinness opens up about 'mistakes' and 'trust being broken' during emotional chat about split from ex-husband Paddy

Christine McGuinness became emotional as she opened up about ex-husband Paddy's 'mistakes' and claims 'the trust was broken'. The model, 37, who was married to TV presenter Paddy for 11 years before they split for good in 2022, is part of this year's Celebs Go Dating line-up. And while speaking to the E4 show's dating experts, Christine opened up about her marriage to TV personality Paddy. She explained: 'When I met my ex-husband, he wasn't as known as what he is now. I was 19 when I met him. I went to an event where I was modelling. 'My ex-husband was there, someone introduced us. We had a laugh and kept in touch.' When asked by the experts if she fancied Paddy, Christine replied: 'Yeah, I did. He had a cheeky charm, he made me laugh.' She also described meeting Paddy as 'perfect timing' and said it was 'an easy relationship.' The pair, who wed in 2011, have three children - twins Leo and Penelope, as well as Felicity. The experts then asked Christine about the breakup, to which she replied: 'Anyone can make mistakes, but I think the trust was broken.' Christine showed clear signs she wanted to leave the programme during the first episode of Celebs Go Dating on Monday night. The TV personality who announced she had quit the show in May, appeared visibly uncomfortable during the mixer when the celebs were tasked to pick someone to take to Ibiza in the hope they would get closer. But all seemed too much for Christine as she insisted on 'taking a minute' outside with her fellow co-star Kerry Katona . She panicked: 'I need a minute, I can go for a minute can't I? I don't want to just take someone away. 'How can I go abroad with someone I've just met? This is just not normal.' When it was announced she would appear on the show, it was revealed that Christine would be up for dating both men and women on the show. Christine revealed it felt 'too soon' for her to date so publicly following her divorce from ex-husband Paddy McGuinness . She had already flown to Ibiza to begin filming the series with the rest of the cast but told fans she was 'returning home to her family' after having a change of heart. Revealing the news on Instagram, she said: 'I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention is brings is just too soon for me.' Christine also said that she may appear in the future, adding: 'They've said the door is always open for me which I'm so grateful but for now I'm returning home to my family.' Talking on Celebs Go Dating, Christine said: 'I feel like I'm a couple of steps away from being my new self and not 'Paddy's wife'. I'm coming out of the transition part. 'I am single and I absolutely do love women. I'd love to explore that more and I definitely see that's where I'm more comfortable.' She added: 'When I was a teenager, I dated men and women before I was married and now I'm really, really just enjoying spending time with women. 'For the last three years, I've only ever dated women. I was never heterosexual, I've never labelled myself anything other than Christine, to be honest.' Christine was married to TV presenter Paddy for 11 years before they split for good in 2022. After they stayed living together for the sake of their three children, who have all been diagnosed with autism, the exes finalised their divorce out of court last summer. Christine revealed how 'difficult' the break-up had been for her after the pair's marital home, a Cheshire mansion worth £6.5million, was put on the market. She said: 'I've never spoken about the reasons for our divorce, and I don't know if I ever will. 'It was a difficult time. It wasn't something that, you know, I just decided to do overnight, or that we chose to do. 'We tried, and, yeah, there just, unfortunately, there was no repairing it, you know?' Discussing her appearance on the show before deciding to quit, the TV personality has admitted that she hasn't 'dated much before' so this will be a new experience for her. She said: 'I'm really excited to be joining the agency, I'm going to have a summer of fun! Who knows what might happen? I've not really dated much before, so I feel like I'm doing a crash course! 'I'm looking forward to getting to know the other celebs and I'm especially looking forward to the coaching side of things with the agents. I think that's going to be good for me.'

Kenny Noye's Brinks-Mat fame 'not right' says ex-police officer

The former detective superintendent who put murderer Kenneth Noye behind bars says he is uncomfortable with the criminal's new-found "mini celebrity" played a pivotal role in the Brinks-Mat heist in 1983 - one of Britain's biggest robberies in which £26m worth of gold, diamonds and cash was has received recent notoriety after being portrayed by actor Jack Lowden in BBC series The Gold - which dramatises the Nick Biddiss, responsible for securing a murder conviction against Noye in 2000, said it is not right that people are shaking the hand of a killer just because of his fame. "But some of these judges don't live in the real world, they go home in space rockets because they don't live on this planet."According to recent media reports, Noye, 78, has been seen enjoying his renewed fame around Sevenoaks, near to where he lives."I don't feel comfortable with it, especially when you think this man is a violent criminal," said Mr Biddiss."Why is Kenny Noye being lionised by people in West Kingsdown and Sevenoaks, shaking his hand, going around in effect being a mini celebrity? It's not right."The Ministry of Justice previously said Noye is on licence for the rest of his life and could return to prison if he fails to comply with his a quarter of a century on, Mr Biddiss says he still regularly thinks about the "senseless" murder of Mr Cameron.
