New Spider-Man tease just dropped

Express Tribune6 days ago
A cryptic nine-second teaser has turned Spider-Man Day into full-blown chaos. Posted to X by the official Spider-Man Movie account, the clip showcases a zoomed-in shot of Tom Holland's latest Spider-Man suit, sparking immediate online frenzy over what's being dubbed his most comic-accurate costume yet.
Set against the caption 'Something brand new is coming', the video reveals raised black webbing and vibrant red-and-blue tones, design cues that appear to nod to the classic Spider-Man look, specifically from the Raimi era. The subtle tweaks weren't missed. Fans quickly pounced on the details, flooding X with theories and thirst-posts. 'That looks like Toby's suit!' one user wrote.
The teaser confirms the title Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits theatres on July 31, 2026. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and sees Tom Holland reprise his role alongside returning cast members Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. New additions include Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Sadie Sink, whose mystery role has fans speculating wildly, some believe she's Jean Grey.
But even more unhinged were reactions from fans who demanded Spider-Man drop the N-word 'out of frustration,' while others declared the teaser 'better than therapy.' The trending hashtag #RAISEDWEBBING quickly overtook X, joined by meme-fuelled pleas like 'DONT TEASE ME I CAN'T HOLD IT ANY LONGERR.'
As excitement boils over a year ahead of release, Sony and Marvel have fans exactly where they want them: breathless, desperate, and totally webbed up in the hype.

Sony hikes annual profit forecast by 4%, citing smaller trade war impact

TOKYO: Sony raised its full-year operating profit forecast on Thursday by 4% to 1.33 trillion yen ($9.01 billion), citing a diminished impact from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war. In May, Sony forecast a profit of 1.28 trillion yen, factoring in a 100 billion yen hit from the tariffs. The Japanese conglomerate has transformed from a maker of household electronics such as the Walkman to an entertainment behemoth spanning games, movies, music and chips. Sony reported a 36.5% rise in operating profit to 340 billion yen for the April-June quarter, beating an estimate of 288 billion yen from eight analysts surveyed by LSEG.

Sony developing Spider‑Punk animated film with Daniel Kaluuya and Ajon Singh

Sony Pictures Animation is reported to be developing an animated feature centred on Spider‑Punk, co‑written by actor Daniel Kaluuya and writer Ajon Singh. Daniel Kaluuya voiced Spider‑Punk in Spider‑Man: Across the Spider‑Verse (2023) and is expected to reprise the role. The project builds on the creative team behind the Spider‑Verse films. Amy Pascal will produce in collaboration with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, continuing their work from previous animated entries in the franchise. Spider‑Punk, also known as Hobie Brown, was created by writer Dan Slott and artist Olivier Coipel. Introduced in The Amazing Spider‑Man #10 in 2015, the character hails from Earth‑138 and embodies a rebellious anti‑establishment ethos, keen to dismantle corrupt systems. The animated feature joins Sony's growing Spider‑Man universe, which includes the upcoming Spider‑Man: Beyond the Spider‑Verse (scheduled for release on 25 June 2027) and the live‑action spin-off series Spider‑Noir, set to premiere on MGM+ next year with Nicolas Cage in the title role. Ajon Singh recently wrote and executive produced the upcoming A24 film Primetime, while Kaluuya continues to expand his work behind the camera, having made his directorial debut with Netflix's The Kitchen and set to produce a live‑action Barney film in collaboration with Mattel and A24. Kaluuya is represented by WME, B Side, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Singh is represented by WME, Untitled Entertainment, and Ziffren Brittenham. As Marvel fans await further news, neither plot details nor further production deals have been confirmed at this time.
