She explained her secret to restoring the toys so they looked nearly-new."A lot of people make the mistake that they just wash the teddy bear, and it gets all matted," Ms Sorrell said."I wash it and leave it to dry thoroughly, and then use [a] brush to bring it back to fluffiness."I've got labradors, and there's a specific dog brush with very fine pins that teases the undercoat."It's a slicker brush and it does a similar thing with the cuddly toys. Of course, I don't use the same brush that I use on my dog!"
Ms Sorrell explained that she had already been able to match up donations with keen owners."We had a couple of lads come in and their mum said they were looking for Super Mario characters," she said."There was a giant sack of washed toys we hadn't sorted, so we rummaged through it and found two Super Marios. They went away very happy!"Another lady tagged them on social media, saying she worked with young people and one would be thrilled to have an Eeyore toy."Funnily enough, an Eeyore appeared the next day in one of our bags, as if by magic."Ms Sorrell hopes people beyond Stevenage will start doing the same thing to prolong the life of soft toys."I'm keen that other people should take this idea up and see cuddly toys in a different light," she said."It's also just presenting them differently – rather than a box of sad-looking teddies in the corner – [to] make them look appealing."

The Thursday Murder Club author Richard Osman has made a surprising revelation about his connection to Netflix's Wednesday. Richard Osman has disclosed that he was invited to audition for Netflix series Wednesday, dropping hints about the character he might have portrayed. Three years have passed since Wednesday became a worldwide sensation on Netflix, with Jenna Ortega breathing new life into the wickedly amusing character of Wednesday Addams. The second series is now poised to launch with the opening four episodes arriving tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, and anticipation for the fresh season has hit fever pitch. The Netflix smash hit featured amongst the subjects Richard Osman discussed with co-presenter Marina Hyde on his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, where he stunned both Hyde and audiences with a surprising revelation. During the closing moments of the episode, Osman disclosed: "They asked me to audition for a role in Wednesday. I couldn't do it. "But I assume because of my height and, I assume because it's the Addams Family, I assume there's some sort of tallness in it." Recognised for his BBC smash series Pointless alongside Alexander Armstrong and numerous other quiz programmes, Osman is instantly identifiable due to his towering frame, as he measures an impressive 6ft 7in tall. Whilst the 54-year-old didn't reveal which character he was meant to audition for in Wednesday, given the role's physical requirements, it's thought Osman could have portrayed the Addams family's manservant Lurch. The role of the silent henchman, originally played by 6ft 3 actor George Burcea in Wednesday season one, has been taken over by former basketball player Joonas Suotamo, who towers at an impressive 6ft 11. Hyde was shocked by Osman's revelation, exclaiming: "Oh my God! Sorry, no, I did not know that and I cannot believe you didn't do it!" He went on to say: "I can't remember why I couldn't do it...I'm not an actor in any way whatsoever, not interested in being an actor. "But the biggest show in the world, you're like 'maybe', I just thought 'for the podcast'. "Do everything for the podcast!" Hyde chuckled, adding: "It'll be fun if I was in that for the podcast." Meanwhile, Osman has been occupied with his novel The Thursday Murder Club, which has been adapted into a Netflix film featuring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie. Osman, who is an executive producer on The Thursday Murder Club, will see his project debut on Thursday, August 28.

Family members of an Oasis fan who died when he fell from a height at the band's concert at Wembley Stadium have paid tribute to him as "a loving family man".Lee Claydon, 45, from Bournemouth, "was taken from us far too soon and we will miss him so very much", his brother Aaron wrote."Our family has been turned upside down and are struggling to deal with this devastation and unexpected loss."On Sunday, police said a man "was found with injuries consistent with a fall" and was pronounced dead at the scene at the stadium in London on Saturday night. Aaron Claydon wrote on Facebook: "Still in shock and cannot believe I am writing this, but sadly over the weekend I lost my best mate the man I looked up to and the man I was lucky enough to call my brother Lee Claydon."A GoFundMe page he has set up for his brother's partner and sons has raised more than £4, Facebook, Shannon Gabrielle wrote: "My cousin Lee tragically passed away this weekend after no doubt having the time of his life at the Oasis concert this weekend."Most will have seen snippets in the news I'm sure & as you can imagine it has devastated the whole family and for his closest knit family unit it's the toughest time they are going through ever right now."She added: "You just don't fathom you will go out for a night of amazing fun & not come home at the end of it." Mr Claydon reportedly fell from an upper Sunday, Oasis said in a statement they were "shocked and saddened" to hear of the death of a added: "Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved."The band began the Oasis Live '25 reunion tour in July. Saturday's concert was one of seven sold-out reunion concerts at Wembley, which has a 90,000-person capacity across three tiers.A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "A man - aged in his 40s – was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage." Wembley Stadium said in a statement that medics, police and the London Ambulance service had attended to the injured man."Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers," the venue band will next appear at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium for three gigs over the next week and then take their tour to Ireland, Canada, the US and Mexico before returning to Wembley on 27 and 28 September.
