On The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, Royal author Robert Jobson wondered if the Duke has been struggling after he stepped down as a working Royal.
Notably, Harry did not appear at VE Day celebrations and has not appeared standing with the veterans at previous events.
Robert said: "Maybe there was a degree of that bitterness in what he gave that interview with the BBC, a sense, again, he wasn't there - and he knows he should be there.
"A lot of people blame Meghan for a lot, I don't blame her at all.
"I think he's got to be man enough to make his own decisions and some of the decisions he's made have been absolutely got wrong.
"Nobody said you shouldn't go away and have a private life but if he hadn't done the book and if he hadn't done the Oprah interview, there's no doubt in my view that he would have been invited back to do certain things."
Legendary Royal photographer Arthur Edwards agreed Harry should own up to his mistakes.
He added: "And when he had the chance to correct a lot of it, he didn't do that."
"He didn't say 'look, I probably got that wrong, Dad, and I'm sorry, William.'
"I mean, what he did, it was pretty treacherous."
Prince Harry's treacherous, he called William a bully & slammed Kate - just say sorry
In the scathing attack, the Duke of Sussex unleashed a host of new claims including how dad Charles is no longer speaking to him and how he's "uncovered his worst fears".
He said he would "love reconciliation" with the royal family but claims there is nothing he can do.
Whether they will make up, according to the Duke, will ultimately be up to his father, saying: "It's in his hands."
He added: "I have no idea how much longer my father has - he is no longer speaking to me - but it would be nice to reconcile."
Throughout the interview, Harry also slammed the UK, saying he felt "let down" by his country and insists he will no longer be returning to his homeland.
He also described his court loss as a "good old fashioned establishment stitch up" and also took at swipe at William and Kate.
Despite his claims of seeking a reconciliation, Harry said he had no regrets even if his family would never forgive him.
Arthur believes if this is what Harry truly wants, he should have taken a different approach during his interview.
He continued: "If he'd have said in that interview 'I'm sorry Dad for what I've done,' I think then the King would have probably said 'okay let's have a chat.'
"All he needs to do is say sorry and that he's not going to do it again, not going to betray the Royal family again - he just got it all wrong."
Robert pinned the interview as an "emotional outburst" and agreed that the interview was a mistake.
He added: "The big problem with Harry is that even if there was an attempt at a reconciliation with a private conversation, you can't trust him that those conversations would probably become public."
The Duke of Sussex started feuding with his family, including his own brother Prince William, since he and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020.
In the interview, he said: "There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family."
Another tragic revelation in the bombshell interview was when Prince Harry revealed that his father, King Charles, won't speak to him.
Harry said when making the emotional admission: "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff."
After the interview, Buckingham Palace had broken its silence with a scathing statement.
A spokesperson said: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
Shortly after the wave-making interview, the BBC admitted an embarrassing "lapse in standards" over its coverage of Harry's security case court loss.
In a statement the broadcaster has now said: "The programme covered the latest developments in the story of Prince Harry and his legal case around protection for him and his family in the UK and interviewed former close protection officer Richard Aitch to get a broader understanding of security considerations.
"Claims were repeated that the process had been 'an establishment stitch-up' and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations.
"This case is ultimately the responsibility of the Home Office and we should have reflected their statement: 'We are pleased that the Court has found in favour of the Government's position in this case.
"'The UK Government's protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals' security.'
"We also should have given the view of Buckingham Palace: 'All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.'
"This was a lapse in our usual high editorial standards."
Harry's fiery statement in full as duke takes swipe at Charles over security row & makes claims over 'shocking truths'

FURIOUS Prince Harry has taken another swipe at the royal family, accusing them of being the reason his security was axed after Megxit.
Hours after his astonishing BBC interview, the defeated prince released a second tirade blaming his family for the row.
Harry later released a statement, saying that the legal action was a last resort but it uncovered "shocking truths".
He revealed he will be writing to the Home Secretary to ask her to review the matter.
The 40-year-old claimed that the "Royal Household are key decision-makers on RAVEC".
"Before the Royal Household's role on RAVEC was known, this secretive committee concluded that when my wife would join the royal family, she should not receive protection.
"Only when I asked for the name of the person willing to carry that risk did they reverse the decision."
Speaking of the decision to strip the Sussexes of their security after Megxit, he said: "This reckless action knowingly put me and my family in harm's way. Life is precious and I understand the fragility of it."
The prince went on to say he remains committed to a life of public service and said: "All I've been asking for is safety."
Harry continued: "To this present day, the Royal Household remain my sole representation on RAVEC for every visit and could call for this assessment to be done at any point.
"The only possible conclusion that can be drawn is that they choose not to because they known the outcome would prove that my security should never have been removed in the first place.
"My family and I have been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats, including from Al-Qaeda."
The prince went on to slam the lack of a risk assessment as a "dereliction of duty".
Harry said he was born into "lifelong circumstances that create inherent security risks" as a royal.
He went on to say his hands have now been tied in seeking "legal recourse against the establishment".
"This all comes from the same institutions that preyed upon my mother, that openly campaigned for the removal of our security, and continue to incite hatred towards me, my wife and even our children, while at the same time protecting the very power that they should be holding accountable."

Tom shared: "With far-reaching views over the Cheshire and Shropshire plains, 480 acres of working farmland and 4.5 acres of award-winning gardens, Chirk's estate makes for a stunning backdrop to the perfect summer adventure. "And of course, no visit would be complete without an exploration of the Medieval castle itself, with stunning gardens, preserved dungeons and state rooms fit for a king." This summer, families can head to Chirk Castle's Big Play Adventure - an outdoor experience for young adventurers. 5 There will even be opportunities to harvest from gardens or participate in a hobby horse race Credit: ©National Trust Images/Paul Harris There will be four themed zones to be explored, inspired by the estate itself - Forest, Meadow, Stream and Kitchen Garden. EastEnders cast had no idea about big return until it aired - and one star cried
EastEnders legend and Doctor Who favourite Anita Dobson has shared the challenge of keeping her soap comeback as Angie Watts a secret from her close friends, and why she agreed to return Soap legend Anita Dobson didn't immediately agree to her EastEnders comeback in February, in an incredible soap moment that has now won her her first British Soap Award. The Angie Watts star, who recently proved a hit in Doctor Who as Mrs Flood AKA a new incarnation of the Rani, had to really think about the genius comeback that left viewers, and cast members, reeling. It was kept top secret with late character Angie appearing in the 40th anniversary episodes. Very few people knew it was happening until it aired during the BBC soap's big week a few months back. Even Anita's co-stars and close friends, including Kathy Beale actress Gillian Taylforth, were kept out of the loop. They didn't know until they saw the scene that Anita was back as Angie for the first time in decades, and years after she was killed off offscreen. Gillian confessed she was left emotional watching Angie return to the show to save her dying daughter Sharon Watts, who had been injured in The Queen Vic explosion. The moment left viewers with goosebumps as Angie urged her daughter to fight and stay alive, there for her in her time of need. But this wasn't the first time Anita had been asked to reprise the role. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards, Anita revealed how she'd been asked before but it never felt right. This time around, Anita gave it some consideration and the rest is history. She spilled: "I did have to think about it. I wasn't sure because they'd asked me to come back a couple of times before and it never seemed quite right but I do think it's divine." But Anita confessed it was so hard to keep it a secret, filming the scenes two months earlier with barely anyone knowing. Anita said: "It was very difficult. We filmed it before Christmas. Gillian [Taylforth] didn't even know. I had to keep it a secret until February, that was a challenge. but it was worth it. The reaction was so good." It's then that Gillian told us she had no idea her close friend and former colleague had reprised her iconic role for the special episodes. The moment she saw Anita back onscreen left her and other co-stars in shock, with Gillian super emotional too. She told us: "We didn't know. It was an amazing moment. We were all like so shocked, we couldn't believe it. We had no idea, Letitia [Dean] didn't tell us. We really had no idea it was happening, it was amazing and such an amazing scene. "It was so emotional and I was so teary. The way Angie came back and got Sharon out of that, you know, on her way out [meaning Sharon was dying]. Mum came back and saved her." She went on: "Kathy has mentioned Angie a few times, 'your mu, used to say this', we still mention her. I love this girl I really do." But Anita says now was the right time, and it gave her the closure she needed years on from Angie's exit. Anita said: "It was perfect and it felt like closure for Angie and for me." With Anita returning to the set to film a special episode with Ross Kemp for the 40th, and a podcast with Lacey Turner, the actress revealed all about being welcomed back by the cast. She said: "They took me into The Queen Vic and everyone was going crazy. It was so lovely." Gillian added: "It brought back so many memories from 40 years ago. It was gorgeous together, we had a wonderful time." Anita also told us about her Doctor Who role, and the moment onscreen that sparked "a riot". She said when asked about the reaction to her reveal as being the Rani: "It actually wasn't as crazy as when Mrs Flood looked at the camera and winked, that caused a riot! "That didn't because a lot of people are thinking, ''where is she going to go from here?''. That sister of mine is so bossy but the outfit was great."
