A DAD has tragically died on a boat trip during a family holiday to Turkey.
John Nelson is understood to have drowned last month off the coast of Turnuc, near the popular resort town of Marmaris.

The 47-year-old, from Arbroath, passed away on July 31 and his family has been left devastated.
He was enjoying a sunshine break with his son Josh and partner Sharon Stuart when he tragically lost his life.
It is understood local police in the Turnuc area have launched a probe following John's death.
Taking to social media, Sharon wrote: "Totally heartbroken to announce the passing of Josh's dad, John Nelson, whose life was tragically taken away at sea during our first family holiday in Turkey.
"We are lost for words and totally devastated. John had turned his life around for the better.
"We were so proud of him. We're just so grateful he got the chance to spend this last time on holiday with Josh, living his best life.
"Our life will never be the same without him. We will always love you forever."
Josh also paid tribute to his father and hailed him as his "role model and best friend".
He has set up an online fundraiser to help his family as they prepare for John's funeral.
Josh wrote: "My dad was my role model, my biggest supporter, and my best friend. We shared so many laughs, deep conversations, and special moments together.

"Over the last few years, I watched him transform his health, overcome many obstacles, and push through some of life's biggest struggles.
"He came out stronger, happier, and more full of life than ever before. He truly cherished every day he was given.
"While we were away on a family holiday, his life was tragically taken in an accident at sea. It's a loss that has shaken my whole world and one I'm still struggling to put into words."
He added: "My family and I are now facing the difficult task of arranging his funeral and covering the costs to give him the farewell he deserves. I've set up a fundraiser to help us during this heartbreaking time.
"Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us. If you're unable to donate, sharing this would be an incredible help."
His funeral will be held in Friockheim, Angus on August 27.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has been contacted for comment.

The illicit history of a 'secret' beach has been revealed. Shell Island near Harlech is home to three beaches with one only showing during low tide. But what they used to do years ago, before we had HMRC all digitalised and keeping an eye on things as they do now, they used to beach the boats here on this middle beach. "And when the tide went out, you can just make out the tracks through there. There's one track there and there's another one on the other side of the beach. "And they used to come down through here with the horse and cart, unload half the stuff, not that our family did this obviously for legal reasons. They would unload some of the stuff and the ship would then float, you're talking these three master schooners and stuff. "They would then go to Porthmadog then and declare customs, obviously minus a few things because the old horse and cart came here. And by the house, there's a tunnel that they used to store it at. "Obviously, nowadays, you can't do that, it's all digitalised and this, that and the other. But back then the way the beach is formed, it's an ideal place to put a boat, and get the horse and carts on."

An hour away from the Croatian city of Pula is the pretty village of Završje, it sits on a hilltop, has winding streets and stone houses with terracotta rooftops. The village is tiny, with the last population consensus in 2021 revealing that just 39 people lived there. More people might have seen it than first thought though, as in 2018 it appeared in a blockbuster movie. Završje stood in for 12th century Nottingham in the Robin Hood film starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx and Eve Hewson. The town's medieval look made it the ideal backdrop for the movie's scenes and were used for the end battle between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Završje has its very own leaning tower - the church tower is 22 metres tall and leans about 40cm because of the unstable ground it was built on. It's also one of the best-preserved in the world with its outer walls and four side towers mostly intact. One of the top attractions is the Punta Kamenjak National Park where you can go swimming and snorkelling. Essential spots to see include the Old Town, Baredine Cave, Port of Rovinj and Church of St Euphemia. Istria is also home to Croatia's largest waterpark Aquapark Porec Aquacolors. It boasts several huge waterslides, including the Freefall, a 48-metre long drop and Turbolance which features a steep drop, reverses and a splash pool, all while taking "crazy photos" of riders. However, there are also calmer rides for youngsters including family rafting slides. The park has a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award due to the number of positive ratings it has received. One visitor wrote: "Awesome place, so much fun and adrenaline. Would come again, definitely! Make sure you arrive early because there is so many slides you will want to try." Another person added: "The children's area was amazing! Our kids loved it!" You can fly direct from the UK to Pula Airport in just over two hours.
