F1 advance box office predictions Day 1: Brad Pitt's racing drama zooms towards $100 million global debut
It's time to start those engines because Hollywood's newest high-octane gamble is about to hit the track this weekend.
Brad Pitt
returns to the big screen in F1, a high-speed racing drama that's generating serious box office buzz as it zooms toward a projected $100 million+ global debut.
The film, which sees Pitt play a retired Formula One legend reluctantly pulled back into the game to mentor a hotshot rookie played by
Damson Idris
, is reportedly eyeing an estimated domestic collection of $50 million to $60 million, according to Variety. However, with industry trackers noting numbers varying from as low as $35 million to a more optimistic $60 million haul, the film's final performance is keenly awaited as all eyes turn to the box office finish line.
In international markets, F1 is targeting an impressive $75 million+ across 77 markets, thanks in large part to the sport's massive global following. Distributed by Warner Bros. on behalf of Apple, this marks a crucial theatrical test for the tech giant's streaming-first studio, which is betting big on F1 to solidify its cinema credibility.
With a production budget exceeding $200 million, F1 will need to be able to lure in the masses to recoup its costs.

If it is unable to hit the mark on its opening weekend, chances are that the film may just be able to score big at the box office next week, over the 4th of July weekend.
The film is also receiving an additional boost from seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton serving as producer, while director Joseph Kosinski and legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer reunite after their Top Gun: Maverick $1 billion triumph.

Neena Gupta says 'I've never been in love' — Anupam Kher recalls watching her from a far at NSD!
Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta , who were classmates at the National School of Drama (NSD) in the late 1970s, have shared a long and layered professional journey. Years after their student days, they reunited for Rakesh Bedi's acclaimed stage play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha, and later appeared together in two 2022 films—Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai and Ajayan Venugopalan's Shiv Shastri Balboa. Now, the duo returns to the screen in Anurag Basu 's upcoming film Metro… In Dino, a spiritual successor to his 2007 anthology Life in a... Metro. In the film, they portray former college mates whose youthful affection never blossomed—until they reconnect decades later at a reunion, reigniting a sense of what might have been. A Candid Conversation: NSD, Nostalgia, and New Beginnings In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, the two actors reminisced about their NSD days, their views on love and heartbreak, and their current relationship with the city of Mumbai. When asked if they remembered the moment they first met, Anupam shared: 'At the National School of Drama, the boys and girls stayed in the same hostel. She was a year junior to me. I first saw her when she came to the sink to wash her glass. I also used to watch her walk to a shop near Mandi House. I wasn't the kind of guy who'd get noticed. She was hard to miss. I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember me.' On working with Anurag Basu's famously impromptu style, Neena said: 'Yes, we're used to last-minute dialogues. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar Undo We don't need to say 'Excuse me' and go to a corner to memorize lines. We can do that on the spot, especially if it's in Hindi. If it's in English, I might take a little longer. But this film was in Hindi, so we were happy.' Anupam echoed her thoughts on the director's approach: 'Anurag's characters come from everyday life. We already understood our characters. Without realizing it, we worked the way we do in theatre. Even Shiv Shastri Balboa had that quality—it could easily be turned into a play. That's the advantage of being experienced and trained actors—we bring our own layers to the work, something not always possible in commercial cinema.' On Love, Loss, and Life Both actors have evolved their own philosophies on love over the years. Neena believes she has only known one true love—her daughter. 'I don't know what romantic love is. I only understood what love truly meant when Masaba (Gupta) was born. That's the only kind of love I've felt deeply. Maybe I'm too practical to fall in love or be loved. I worry a lot and wonder if something's wrong with me. When I watch love stories or Western shows, I question why I've never felt like dying for someone.' When asked about the time the late Satish Kaushik offered to marry her to shield her from social stigma, Neena reflected on the different kinds of love: 'That was the love of a friend. I can fall in love with anyone—my neighbour, my dog, my staff, my cook, my friends. Sometimes, love in friendship is something else entirely.' Anupam, meanwhile, takes a broader view of love: 'We often limit the idea of love to just romantic relationships. But love exists between parents and children, siblings, friends, and even pets. A love story doesn't have to be just about a man and a woman.' About the Film: Metro… In Dino Metro… In Dino is an upcoming romantic anthology film that explores contemporary relationships through four interconnected stories. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi , Konkona Sen Sharma , Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Set in present-day urban India, the film captures the emotional complexities of love, longing, and commitment. Metro… In Dino is slated for release on July 4.

He, however, is confident that he will be retained. read more Mercedes driver George Russell has made an explosive revelation that his team is currently engaged in talks with four-time Formula One champion Max Verstappen over a future deal. Russell, who won the Canadian Grand Prix, made the mega revelation while discussing why he has not yet signed a contract extension with Mercedes. Russell's contract with Mercedes ends in 2025 and Verstappen has a contract with Red Bull till 2028, but he has been linked with multiple teams since an alleged breakdown in his relationship with team boss Christian Horner. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Now, the media is speculating that Verstappen could replace either Russell or rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli at Mercedes. Russell's recent revelation has added weight to those rumours. More from Sports FIFA Club World Cup: Man City thrash Juventus; Real Madrid beat Salzburg to reach last 16 Russell reveals Mercedes are talking to Verstappen While discussing his impending contract extension at Mercedes, Russell said he is currently focussed on only one thing, that is to do well in races. He is currently fourth in the Driver standings behind Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Verstappen. 'It's not something that I'm pressing massively because, as I've always said, the performance is the priority, and I feel with the performance I'm showing at the moment – still in line with the performance I've shown over all these years – I've got zero reasons to be worried. But obviously, it does help if there was pen on paper. But let's see,' Russell told Sky Sports. Also Read | Sebastian Vettel confirms talks with Red Bull over possible Formula 1 return, but in different role He added that Mercedes wants to be the best team in Formula 1 and that's why they are holding talks with reigning champion Verstappen to join their team. 'From my side, I don't think I have anything really to worry about. I think, as a team, it depends where you put your aspirations,' Russell added. 'We're second best at the moment, maybe third best. We might be overperforming slightly to be second best." Also Read | STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'As Mercedes, they want to be back on top, and if you're going to be back on top you need to make sure you've got the best drivers, the best engineers, the best pit crew, and that's what Mercedes are chasing. So, it's only normal that conversations with the likes of Verstappen are ongoing." Antonelli may lose driver seat at Mercedes Russell also suggested that he is not at risk of losing his spot at Mercedes and Antonelli could be shown the door in the future. 'But from my side, if I'm performing as I'm doing, what have I got to be concerned about? There are two seats in every Formula 1 team. 'Toto has made it clear to me that he thinks how I'm performing this year is as good as anybody." 'I think there's only one driver that you can debate in terms of performance – these are his words, these are not my words – so that's why I have no concern about the future. 'But there's two seats at every team and I guess he needs to think, who are those two drivers going to be for those two seats, and I guess that's what the delay is.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Should say excellent film, excellent direction, excellent music, and what a wonderful performance from Kajol!' — BabbuJMehra (@BabbuJMehra) However, not all reviewers were impressed. One called out the movie for having a tedious plot and being unintentionally hilarious. ''Maa Kasam,' what a squandering of talents on a plot that's lethargic, uninspiring, and triggers unintentional laughs rather than shivers,' the comment read. — cineblues (@cineblues) Inside The World Of Maa Helmed by filmmaker Vishal Furia, Maa is a spine-chilling blend of mythology and horror, led by Kajol in a commanding central role. Alongside her, the cast includes Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma, all playing pivotal characters who help shape this dark, emotionally charged narrative. The storyline follows a devoted mother—portrayed by Kajol—who sets out on a seemingly ordinary road journey with her daughter. However, the path soon twists into a nightmarish ordeal as they encounter spectral entities and unearthly forces. At the core of this haunting tale lies a mysterious, cursed tree and an age-old legend shrouded in blood and fear. As the horrors unfold, Kajol's character is forced to confront ancient evils that threaten to consume not just her but the bond she shares with her daughter. Drawing creative energy from the mythological saga of Goddess Kali and the fearsome demon Raktabija, the film channels deep-rooted cultural lore into a terrifying cinematic experience. The visual tone and narrative pacing invoke the wrath and power of divine feminine energy clashing against demonic darkness, giving the story both emotional gravity and mythic grandeur. Maa is the second chapter in Ajay Devgn's evolving horror cinematic universe, coming on the heels of the well-received Shaitaan. With Kajol stepping into a fiery, protective mother's role—unafraid to face down malevolent spirits—the film builds on themes of maternal strength, sacrifice, and otherworldly terror. With its eerie atmosphere, emotionally charged storytelling , and myth-inspired villainy, Maa positions itself as a compelling and intense addition to the supernatural horror genre, continuing Ajay Devgn's ambitious exploration of fear, folklore, and family.
