As a prelude to its 160th anniversary this June, The Langham Hotels and Resorts today introduced signature pink all-electric Lucid Air house cars at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue and The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles. The flagship brand under Langham Hospitality Group (LHG), The Langham is widely known for its rich history and pioneering spirit – both of which are reflected in these latest guest amenities.
As we prepare to mark 160 years of luxury hospitality and forward-thinking for The Langham next month, we welcome this chance to highlight the brand's heritage and innovative spirit. Our signature pink Lucid Air house cars both honor The Langham's past and accelerate its journey to the future. LHG Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Lawrence Ng
The New York and Los Angeles hotels are the first under The Langham to offer the pink house cars, marking what may be the start of a broader rollout across the brand's portfolio in the coming months.
A history of innovation
The story of The Langham is one of pioneering pursuits – from its 1865 beginnings in London to its current and ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge guest experiences. Widely regarded as Europe's first grand hotel, its founding branch was the first facility of its kind to offer air conditioning, hot and cold running water, and hydraulic elevators, which it affectionally referred to as 'rising rooms.' Fast forward to today, and The Langham's hotels continue to stay ahead of the curve by embracing advanced cloud solutions, adopting next-generation loyalty systems, and laying the groundwork for cutting-edge AI-enabled guest booking platforms and personalization tools.
Pink for the ages
The Langham's signature pink is more than just a color – it's a story, one deeply rooted in the brand's heritage. During a 1987 renovation of The Langham, London, restorers uncovered remnants of the hotel's original pink wallpaper. Inspired by this discovery, LHG adopted the hue as the brand's signature color, weaving it into everything from floral arrangements to afternoon tea sets – and now, its striking electric house cars.
