Sirumalai to get a facelift as Dindigul district gets ₹10 crore from T.N. govt.
Collector S. Saravanan said on Thursday that Sirumalai would get a facelift as Dindigul district has received ₹10 crore from the Tamil Nadu government.
Speaking to media persons, he said that Sirumalai has been attracting tourists and thus to give more focus, the Horticulture and Tourism and other departments would be working on improving the infrastructural facilities.
After visiting the Pepper Falls in Pallangi village near Vilpatti, he said that though the waterfalls here was small, they expect more visitors due to the summer rush. The Collector discussed the need to improve facilities and also deploy forest department personnel.
The officials said that for any adventure tourism, the visitors should get prior permission from the Tourism Department. Similarly, the Forest Department clearance was also mandatory for those entering the reserve forest areas in the hill station.
The Collector presided over a review meeting on the preparedness for the 62nd annual flower show to be held in Bryant Park here shortly.
The Horticulture Department officials said that they had procured saplings from Kolkata, Niligiris and other locations for special variety of flowers including Marigold and among others. Closer to the commencement of flower show, the flower arrangement would be completed in the park.
Similarly, they also explained about the plans to put up selfie-points at the Flower Show as it would attract tourists. This year, images of animals like giraffe and vegetables and fruits and among others would be decorated with flowers, they explained.

Operation Sindoor: Installation inaugurated at Dilli Haat
NEW DELHI: An installation based on Operation Sindoor dedicated to the valour of the Indian Armed Forces was inaugurated at Dilli Haat by Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra on Wednesday. The installation highlights how the Indian forces destroyed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. Noting its significance, Mishra expressed, 'The Operation Sindoor installation is an effort to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Army. This installation will serve as a reminder to both Indian citizens and international visitors of the extraordinary bravery and heroism of the Indian soldiers.' In a symbolic gesture, visitors were invited to apply 'sindoor' (vermilion) at the installation as a 'tilak' in tribute to the armed forces. The Tourism Department of the Delhi government has planned to set up similar installations at various locations in the city as part of the initiative. The installation in Dilli Haat will remain on display for the next 15 days, officials said.

Spontaneous response to yoga programme
Nellore: The rewas spontaneous response to the Yogandhra programme with more than 1,000 people participating in the programme, organised by Tourism department at Swarnala Cheruvu on Wednesday. ZP Chairperson Anam Arunamma, district Collector O Anand, SP G Krishna Kanth, Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan and officials from several departments participated. Collector Anand has advised people to practice yoga regularly as it will keep them with better health but also but also makes them stress free. He said that it was proposed to conduct integrated yoga programme at tourist places like Mypadu Beach, Penchalakona, Udayagiri very soon. The Collector said that administration is expecting around 10 lakh people to participate in the yoga programme on the occasion of International Yoga Day, being organised on June 21 in the district. To make the event success, training was given to 300 master trainers, while 7,000 people at village and ward level, he added. Tourism and Ayush Regional Directors Raman Prasad and Dr Padmavathi, district tourism officer Ushasree, and others participated.
