M'sia gears up for World Corporate Golf Challenge
Graced by the presence of the Raja Muda of Selangor and Royal Patron of WCGC Malaysia Tengku Amir Shah, the launch sets the stage for an exciting series where business and sport converge on the greens.
The WCGC Malaysia 2025 will feature four preliminary legs played at four of the Klang Valley's top golf courses from May to August, culminating at the national final at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club on Sept 25, 2025.
The champions of the national final will represent Malaysia and their companies at the WCGC World Final in Shanghai, China, from October 19-23, 2025, in an environment that fosters sporting talent and, above all, international networking.
'Selangor, with its world-class golf courses, strategic location, and vibrant economy, is the perfect backdrop to welcome corporate leaders from across the nation and around the world,' WCGC Malaysia advisor Haji Mohd Salim Mohamed Sain said.
'Through this event, we aim to promote tourism, showcase our hospitality, and reinforce Malaysia's status as a destination for high-level business and sporting events in the near future'.
Adding to the celebratory mood at the launch event was a proud acknowledgment of Team Malaysia's remarkable third-place finish at the WCGC World Finals in Haikou, China, last year.
The team comprising Lee Robert, Anushka Gayan, Ang Khai Phang, and Kong Tuck Keat were applauded for their outstanding performance, continuing Malaysia's strong showing on the global stage.

ASTAF: Hatyai Safe for Thai King's Cup Sepaktakraw
THE 38th Thai King's Cup in Hatyai remains safe, peaceful and fully under control, the Asian Sepaktakraw Federation (ASTAF) said today following concerns over regional security. ASTAF president Datuk Abdul Halim Kader said the situation in Hatyai is unaffected by the recent military skirmishes near the Thailand-Cambodia border, which is more than 900 kilometres from the tournament venue. 'We encourage all participants, especially Malaysian and Singaporean fans, to proceed with their travel plans confidently and join us in rallying behind Team Malaysia and Team Singapore as they compete at the pinnacle of international sepak takraw,' he said in an advisory today. Abdul Halim said Thai authorities have also reinforced security at all official accommodations and the tournament venue at the Hatyai Hall inside Central Hatyai Shopping Mall, with additional personnel deployed. As part of precautionary measures, he also said all 18 participating national teams have been advised to remain vigilant and return to their official hotels immediately following each match to ensure smooth tournament operations and safety. It was reported yesterday that a Thai civilian was killed and three others, including a five-year-old child, were seriously injured following a clash between Thai and Cambodian troops in a disputed border area early Thursday. The two Southeast Asian neighbours have been disputing an 817-km undemarcated border for decades, which continues to sour diplomatic ties- BERNAMA

Intense competition at WCGC Malaysia qualifier as top golfers eye national final
SHAH ALAM, July 23 — The third qualifying leg of the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) Malaysia, presented by ENOTECH, was held at the Garden Course of Glenmarie Golf & Country Club yesterday. The event saw a full field of 132 corporate golfers, with Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the royal patron of WCGC Malaysia, joining the players on the tee. A splash of mid-morning rain threatened to derail proceedings, but the weather cleared, allowing the enthusiastic field to return to action in much enjoyable conditions. The competition was tightly contested, with the top five pairs finishing with the maximum allowable score of 42 Stableford points. These teams will move on to the national final at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in September. Leading the way were the pairing of Sasi Kumar Subramaniam (4) and Selvan Subramaniam (7) of Cyberlan Integral Sdn Bhd, who received a Cuckoo Inductrio Hybrid Induction Hob each for their efforts. In second place was the team of Gavin Fung (4) and Lim Giin Hoong (9), who each walked home with a Huawei GT5 Pro watch. The Universiti Putra Malaysia pairing of Dr Zailani Khuzaimah (6) and Dr Fadzrul Abbas (8) came in third, receiving each a Fella Design Lazio bench. Fourth place went to the team of Wong Ka Hei (6) and Loh Hung Mun (8) from Paint Bomber Malaysia, who picked up a Bridgestone 24B wedge respectively. Second time proved a charm for the Perwira Global Enterprise partnership of Ahmad Marzuki Kamaruzaman (5) and Tengku Izharudin Tengku Ismail (11), as they made amends for a disappointing showing in the second qualifying round by securing fifth place, walking home in style with a pair of Skechers GoGolf shoes each. The fourth and final qualifying round will take place at Templer Park Country Club on August 21, where five more teams will secure their spots in the national final. The winning pair at the national final will represent Malaysia at the WCGC World Final in Shanghai, China, from October 19 to 23. ENOTECH is the title sponsor of the WCGC Malaysia, with the main sponsors including Konsortium Jaringan Selangor, Spectrum Outdoor, Simple Advantage, World Klang Group, KUSEL, Avisena Healthcare, Les Copaque Production Sdn Bhd and Cuckoo Malaysia. Other key partners include PlusMax Group, Ancom Nylex Berhad, CelcomDigi, Skechers Golf, and Avant Aegis, with BMW Millenium Welt KT, Iroas Timepiece, Fella Design & Bridgestone Golf coming in as Hole-in-One sponsors.
