One of Taylor Swift & Blake Lively's Mutual Friends Has Allegedly Chosen Sides Amid Legal Feud
Taylor Swift's friendship with Blake Lively has been in something of flux as of late, thanks in large part to all of the It Ends With Us drama. So when whispers of a rift between the two started circulating, fans took notice. Now, insiders say supermodel Gigi Hadid — who's been best friends with Swift for a decade and also counted Lively as a friend — is quietly gravitating toward the singer as the legal drama intensifies.
Hadid 'has always had a closer friendship with Taylor and stands by her,' a source told Us Weekly, adding that, 'She has been a very loyal friend to Taylor, and they have been best friends for a decade now.'

Despite the perception that Hadid has 'chosen sides,' the same insider is quick to clarify that she 'hasn't necessarily chosen sides' in the feud between her two gal pals. Instead, Hadid's shifting social calendar simply mirrors the closer bond she shares with Swift. After all, it was Swift who first introduced Hadid to Lively — and while Hadid and Lively 'really haven't been as close in almost a year,' there are 'no hard feelings' between the two, per the source.
Those subtle distance cues have become increasingly apparent since Lively sued director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment in December 2024 — and he hit back with a $400 million countersuit. When Baldoni's lawyers subpoenaed Swift earlier this month, her representative fired off a statement pointing out that Swift had 'never set foot on the set,' 'was not involved in any casting or creative decisions,' and 'did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release.' At the time, Swift was deep into her Eras Tour.
The fallout of the subpoena seems to have put Swift and Lively on shaky ground. 'As Taylor has begun to distance herself from Blake, Gigi has naturally done the same,' the source notes, stressing that the change 'wasn't abrupt, but a gradual and organic change in dynamics.'
For her part, Hadid is keen to sidestep any legal entanglements. 'Gigi doesn't want to be involved at all,' the insider reveals. She hasn't been in regular contact with Lively this year, the source adds, 'and it does have everything to do with the lawsuit.' It's a cautious move from someone who, until recently, attended red carpets and birthday bashes alongside both women (Lively was noticeably absent from Hadid's 30th birthday celebrations back in April.)
With Lively and Baldoni scheduled to face off in March 2026, more subpoenas could be on the way — and the fallout may carry on well beyond the courtroom. For now, Hadid's choice to step back serves as a reminder that, in Hollywood, friendships can be just as fragile as reputations when legal teams enter the picture.Best of SheKnows

Taylor Swift got what she wanted. So what do ‘Taylor's Versions' mean now?
I have been to some very loud concerts. Nothing compares to what I witnessed at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Aug. 9, 2023, when I attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. 'Here we are on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour, in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day of the month,' Swift told the 70,000-plus people in the audience near the end of the 3½-hour show. 'There's something that I've been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously embarrassingly long time. And I think instead of just telling you about it, I think I'll just sort of show you.'

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Seen in Deep Conversation at Dinner in NYC
On Saturday night, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez reunited in New York City for dinner at Monkey Bar, as seen in photos shared by gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi. The pop stars appeared to be unaccompanied. Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is reportedly in Kansas City for the annual Big Slick charity live show, raising money for pediatric cancer research. Gomez's fiancé, Benny Blanco, was not on the scene, but he did post on Friday about missing her, so he may be away. In the snapshot, the friends are in deep conversation and seated in a booth. Swift appears to be reacting in shock or surprise to something Gomez is saying. The Eras Tour star is wearing a black tank top lined with silver sequins, and the Only Murders in the Building actress has on a dark scoop-neck shirt under what appears to be a jacket with wide lapels. Gomez has her hair up in a sleek bun and is wearing small gold hoops. This was a big week for Swift, who just announced she has purchased the rights to her master recordings after a number of years battling to get them back from first Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records and then Shamrock Capital. In a letter to fans, she wrote, 'I'm trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow. As a flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. I almost stopped thinking it could happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that's all in the past now.' After Swift posted the news on Instagram, Gomez shared it in her Stories, writing, 'Yes you did that Tay! So proud.' Before regaining her masters, Swift had been re-recording her albums and fans were anticipating the next (Taylor's Version) release, expecting Reputation. Swift clarified that she has actually not gotten far with with re-recording the 2017 album. 'Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it,' Swift wrote in her letter. 'The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposefully misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.' Swift continued, 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first six that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music or photos or videos. So, I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for unreleased vault tracks from that album to hatch.'

Why Taylor Swift Is Reportedly 'Relieved' Her Friendship With Blake Lively Is Over
Taylor Swift is allegedly in her 'relieved' era after ending her friendship with Blake Lively over the Justin Baldoni legal drama. A source told the Daily Mail that the singer is 'relieved the relationship is over' because she can now 'see all the red flags' she missed in their friendship. The source claimed that Swift put up with Lively's 'antics for too long because she's a loyal friend.' More from SheKnows Every Star Taylor Swift Has Feuded With The source's claims come after Baldoni's legal team withdrew a subpoena sent to Swift, officially ending her involvement in the It Ends With Us director's legal battle with Lively, which was supposedly the cause of her feud with her longtime friend. Baldoni is suing his It Ends With Us co-star and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging that they tried to destroy his career with false allegations of sexual harassment. Baldoni's lawsuit came after Lively sued him and a cast of publicists for allegedly launching an online whisper campaign against her in retaliation for her harassment complaints. Swift was dragged into the mix when she was referenced in Baldoni's lawsuit as a 'megacelebrity friend' of Lively and Reynolds, whom he alleged they used to pressure him to accept Lively's script rewrites. He claimed Lively referred to Swift as one of her 'dragons' and alleged he was invited to a meeting with Swift and Reynolds where the singer praised Lively's edits, which Baldoni took as a sign that he was expected to change the screenplay. Swift was subpoenaed in the case, and a court filing from Bryan Freedman, Baldoni's lead attorney, stated that he was looking for evidence that Lively's lawyer threatened Swift's legal team that they would release texts between the two friends if Swift did not issue a statement of support for Lively on social media. Lively's team has called Freedman's suggestion that such evidence exists 'unequivocally and demonstrably false.' In a statement issued on May 22, via Variety, a spokesperson for Lively accused Baldoni and his team of trying to exploit Swift's fame to sensationalize their claims. 'We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties have withdrawn their harassing subpoenas to Taylor Swift and her law firm,' the spokesperson said. 'We supported the efforts of Taylor's team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel, and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process.' 'The Baldoni and Wayfarer team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the center of this case since day one,' Lively's spokesperson added. 'Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded. At some point, they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing.'Best of SheKnows Elizabeth Hurley & Billy Ray Cyrus, & More of the Best Red Carpet Debuts From Celebrity Couples Over the Years Yoko Ono's Daughter Kyoko, & 22 Surprising Celebrities That Were In or Linked to a Cult 7 Ways Chrissy Teigen Has Altered Her Appearance Over the Years: Plastic Surgery & More
