Princess Diana's look-a-like niece announces engagement after lavish proposal
Princess Diana's glamorous niece Lady Eliza Spencer has announced her engagement after a lavish proposal.
Eliza, who is a cousin of both Prince William and Prince Harry, took to Instagram to reveal the happy news and show off her new ring after long-term boyfriend Channing Millerd popped the question on the Greek island of Santorini.
The 33-year-old, whose father is Diana's brother Charles Spencer, has enjoyed a 10-year romance with Channing, whom she met at a dinner party in South Africa. The news comes as it was reported that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope . In the post announcing her engagement, one picture shows Eliza embracing her new fiancé while showing off her new diamond engagement ring. Another captures the moment Channing went down on one knee, while a third shows the romantic setting in Santorini where the proposal took place.
Among those who rushed to congratulate her was twin sister Lady Amelia Spencer, who wrote: "The best news ever. I couldn't be happier for you both!" Meanwhile, older sister Lady Kitty Spencer, 34, who married 66-year-old businessman Michael Lewis in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2021, added: "So happy for you and love you both very much @elizavspencer @channingmillerd."

Eliza previously told Hello!: "We have such a strong, loving and supportive relationship. He truly is my best friend. We understand each other so well, and no matter what life brings, we're always there for one another." She added: "I absolutely believe he's The One – our bond is built on so much trust, laughter and shared values."
Eliza and twin Amelia, as well as older sister Kitty, are all models. They, along with older brother Louis, are the children of Earl Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood. The twins were born in 1992, grew up in South Africa and were just five when their late aunt Diana died.

In 2021, they gave a rare joint interview to Tatler where they shared fond memories of their "incredibly warm, maternal and loving" aunt.
Speaking about Diana's death in 1997, Eliza said: "As a child, I realised the enormity of the loss for my father and family. It was only later that I came to understand the significance of the loss of her as a figure in the world."
In 2023, Amelia married her long-term boyfriend Greg Mallett in a mountain-top ceremony in Cape Town, surrounded by her siblings. And last year, the twins turned out to support older cousin William at a fundraiser for the London Air Ambulance.
Meanwhile, Kitty read psychology at the University of Cape Town and has modelled for brands including Dolce & Gabbana, for which she has been a muse, and Bvlgari.
She also scored invites to the wedding of her cousins William and Harry, and her Instagram account shows her at fashion shows in cities such as London and Milan.

Pop legend wants to headline Glastonbury 2027 for 10-year anniversary of set
After a decade away, one 00s pop legend is throwing his hat into the ring for a headlining spot at Glastonbury. With two number one albums, 16 Top 10 hits, and 298 weeks spent in the UK charts, Craig David is ready to tackle that coveted Worthy Farm title. Glastonbury is having a fallow year to allow the ground to recover, so the 7 Days icon will have to wait until 2027 – perfect timing for a special anniversary. It will mark 10 years since the 44-year-old star last performed on the Pyramid Stage, a performance which he described as 'iconic'. Telling The Sun to 'stay tuned', he shared how he would 'love to go back', adding: 'You know what Glastonbury means to any artist'. 'When I performed on the Pyramid Stage, it was one of the most iconic moments for me. I could see that there were so many people from so many different walks of life who'd come to see a myriad of different artists.' Over 100,000 people filled the field, and a further 7,600,000 watched on BBC iPlayer, with many at the time saying he deserved the Sunday Legend slot. His set was sandwiched between Jools Holland and a speech from Jeremy Corbyn, with Katy Perry, The National, and Foo Fighters closing the day. Craig shared: 'I'd never seen so many people and I thought that is what it is normally like. People were like, 'No, Craig, the crowd went over the bank at the back and that is huge.' It was just amazing.' For the past few years, he has posted a clip of the set on Instagram and called the experience a 'core memory'. 'Performing on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2017 holds a special place in my heart,' the Re-Rewind hitmaker wrote. 'Being able to sing to so many beautiful people at this iconic festival will always be a career highlight.' He's just released a new album, Commitment, after focusing on his TS5 DJ set recently with performances at festivals like Southampton's Summer Sessions and Kew The Music. This ninth album comes 25 years after 7 Days, the song which cemented him as one of the UK's most iconic performers. Craig previously told Metro how he wouldn't re-release any of his older music as it's too precious to his fans. More Trending ''It's so not about me,' he said at the time. 'There was a point when I was first writing music where it was about 'I want to go out there, I want to play this for you, I want to know how it feels to experience this'. 'Then it comes to another point where you recognise that the anecdotes and stories that people tell you over the years of being on holiday, meeting their partner, just a special memory for them with a song that's one of mine. 'It becomes not about me, it's about what am I doing and what service can I bring. I love it.' Got a story? Clip of glam Sydney Sweeney expertly shooting targets goes viral as her ‘secret MAGA life' emerges after anti-woke ad
A CLIP of Sydney Sweeney blasting targets at a shooting range has gone viral - as she's adopted by the MAGA movement and praised by Trump. The video resurfaced after President Trump heaped praise on the actress's "anti-woke" American Eagle jeans advert and she was revealed to be a registered Republican. 9 A clip of Sydney Sweeney practicing at a firing range has resurfaced in light of the revelation of her Republican leanings Credit: instagram/@sydney_sweeney/ 9 Sydney had never revealed how she voted, though people are now seeing clues from over the years Credit: Instagram 9 Sydney Sweeney is the star of American Eagle's latest, controversial ad campaign Credit: American Eagle The clip from 2019 shows a younger Sydney expertly burying rounds into a series of human-shaped dummies at the firing range. She appears well-practiced, skilfully banging two bullets into each in quick succession without so much as a flinch. At the end, she flashes a smile to the camera and holsters the weapon. Since Sydney starred in the controversial American Eagle jeans ad, clues that point to her living a secret MAGA life have emerged. The 27-year-old grew up in a small, Catholic, Trump-supporting town in Washington with her father, mother and younger brother Trent - and has previously said she had a "religious" upbringing. After accepting her breakout Euphoria role, Sydney revealed she had been nervous about how her community would react. She told Stylecaster in 2021: "What's crazy - and this is going to sound really bad- is when I first got sent the audition, I was too nervous to go do it. "I grew up in a smaller town with my family, who are a little more conservative, and I was like: 'They're going to kill me if I do something like this.'" A surprise party she threw for her mom's 60th birthday drew considerable attention when pics were shared of the guests wearing MAGA-style hats and "Blue Lives Matter" shirts. And now, she has starred in the American Eagle ad which has seriously riled voices on the left, who claim it promotes a racial ideal, but delighted the right who hail it as the "end of woke advertising". Trump pours praise on Sydney Sweedy amid 'good jeans' American Eagle ad storm as her voter registration revealed The ad makes a play on the words "jeans" and "genes" - and the main tagline is "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans". It's been claimed that the promotion of Sydney's blonde hair and blue eye traits suggests they are superior to alternative genes. Sydney hasn't publicly commented on the furore stirred up by the ad, but made her first appearance at a screening of her upcoming film "Americana" on Monday. She was heckled by a fan who shouted: "Stop the ad, that is being racist," according to TMZ. 9 Sydney flashes a smile after smashing it at the firing range Credit: instagram/@sydney_sweeney/ 9 Sydney sweeney caused controversy by posting Maga-themed pics from from her mom's 60th Credit: Instagram 9 Sydney Sweeney is most famous for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus Credit: Instagram However, she got into her vehicle without responding. American Eagle defended its advertisement, but removed the video from its social media accounts. It then emerged over the weekend that the actress has been a registered Republican since June 2024 - and she soon received praise right from the top. President Trump was delighted when a reporter told him about Sydney's political leanings, and promptly declared that he "loves" her "fantastic" ad. He said on Sunday night: "That's one I wouldn't have known but I'm glad you told me that. 9 Trump's Truth Social post on Monday, where he doubled down on his support for Sydney Sweeney Credit: X 9 Sydney Sweeney was revealed to be a registered Republican since June 2024 Credit: Getty 9 The ad's tagline 'Sydney Sweeney had great jeans' ignited major controversy Credit: American Eagle 'If Sydney Sweeny is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.' Trump then doubled down on his enthusiastic support and cemented the American Eagle ad as a bastion of the "anti-woke" agenda. He declared in a Monday morning Truth Social post that the campaign is "the HOTTEST" and went on to slam "woke" companies like "stupid" Jaguar and Bud Light for their own advertising. Jaguar recently put out an ad with models dressed in brightly-coloured, flamboyant clothing - but no cars or the brand's logo. Trump insisted the British manufacturer, whose CEO resigned on last week, should have learned from Bug Light - which suffered a boycott and major losses after an advert featuring a transgender influencer. The President's conclusion: "Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be."
