Shocking moment biker, 21, drags brave police officer across road as he tries to arrest him over dangerous town centre wheelies
This is the shocking moment a reckless biker dragged a brave police officer across a road as he tried to arrest him.
Sergeant Tom Brookes asked Scott Ryall, 21, to pull over after he spotted him doing dangerous wheelies in Bargoed town centre in South Wales on April 8.
The biker, who had stopped at a traffic light, sped off with the policeman in tow, much to the shock of an onlooking bus driver.
After a police chase, the pair eventually crashed into a grass verge.
Now dramatic footage has emerged of the incident, which led to Ryall's immediate arrest.
The bike could be seen zooming from a side street, across an island of traffic lights and onto a main road, with the brave officer hanging off it.
The speeding driver then loses control of the motorcycle as he enters a slip road, with a Gwent Police car in hot pursuit.
Ryall then weaves between a road sign and a traffic light before clipping a bin and smashing into a grassy bank, still carrying Sgt Brookes on his bike.

At this point, the police vehicle crosses the main road to catch up with him and assist in the arrest.
The force said: 'When [Sgt Brookes] tried to detain the rider, however, the rider accelerated, pulling the officer across the road in front of an onlooking bus driver.
'The bike ended up on a grass verge opposite the junction before Sgt Brookes arrested the rider.'
Ryall, of Blackwood, Caerphilly, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at Newport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He was handed a suspended sentence but was banned from driving for 15 months and his green Kawasaki was seized and crushed.
Speaking after the sentence, Sgt Brookes said: 'Both the rider and I were extremely fortunate that the road wasn't busier at the time.
'The defendant shouldn't have been on the road in the first place, but his reckless and thoughtless riding by pulling wheelies on a main road in a town centre put himself, officers, motorists and pedestrians at risk.
'Our neighbourhood team across Caerphilly north will not tolerate the illegal and dangerous use of off-road vehicles and continue to plan proactive operations to keep roads and rural areas safe and remove these vehicles from our streets.'

Two men have been arrested following a man's death after a collision on a major Welsh road. The crash happened on the A465 westbound, between Rhymney and Dowlais on Saturday morning, May 31, in South Wales and a 20-year-old man from Brynmawr was pronounced dead. Teen, 19, fighting for life after falling from balcony ‘while fleeing cops' as boy, 14, raced to hospital
A TEENAGER is fighting for his life in hospital after falling from a balcony while allegedly fleeing police. The 19-year-old man suffered critical injuries after falling off an "upper balcony from height" in Tameside, Manchester, said cops. A 14-year-old boy was also seriously injured in the same fall on Saturday night, according to Greater Manchester Police. It came after police received reports of a "group of males with machetes making threats towards individuals" at the location. Upon arrival, at around 7.20pm, officers gave chase to three males who "tried to leave" the property, with one of the three escaping through a lower balcony. The 19-year-old who fell from the balcony then sustained serious injuries. Footage from the scene showed emergency services at the foot of Bentinck House, a 12 storey tower block on the outskirts of Ashton town centre. Three people have been arrested and drugs and a weapon have also been seized, said police. Witnesses reported seeing armed police and an air ambulance at the scene. Det Supt Gareth Jenkins from the Tameside District said: "The two injured parties, aged 14 and 19, have been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries, with the older male in a critical condition. "These males are under the detention of officers pending their medical treatment, and another male has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. 'Enquiries are ongoing to determine all of those involved and the full circumstances of what has happened in the lead up to the incident. Suspected drugs and a weapon have been recovered. "A small scene remains in place at the property and residents in the area should expect to see further police activity. "Anyone with any information which has not yet been provided to us, or with any concerns, should speak to officers on the ground. "I'd like to reassure the community that this incident is believed to be between individuals known to one another, with no wider risk to the community." Police are looking for any witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid their inquiries. British pensioner 'drug mule', 79, arrested in Chile claims Mexican gang promised him £3.7million to carry suitcase with 5kg of crystal meth
A British pensioner has been arrested in Chile after a Mexican gang allegedly promised him £3.7million to smuggle a suitcase of crystal meth. The 79-year-old was held after leaving a flight from the Mexican resort of Cancun at Santiago Airport. He was booked on a flight to Sydney in Australia the following day after spending a night at a hotel in the Chilean capital. The unnamed pensioner was remanded in custody following a court appearance after a judge approved a prosecution request to send him to prison pending probable charges and trial. Police say the drugs he was caught with would have been worth around £200,000 on the streets of the south American country. He was intercepted after his luggage was put through an airport scanner. The British traveller was asked to open his suitcase in front of police after they detected a 'suspicious' substance and cops discovered a secret compartment where 5kg of the drugs had been packed. Airport police chief Sergio Paredes said it was the first time the arrested man had entered Chile. He said: 'This person came from Mexico and when he was arrested and taken to the anti-narcotics squad's airport offices, he said that the suitcase had been received by some Mexican nationals at Cancun airport. 'He was due to spend a night in a hotel in the centre of Santiago before boarding a flight to Sydney, Australia.' Mr Paredes said police were still investigating whether the drugs were due to remain in Chile or be taken to Australia. However, it was later revealed that the teen, from Billingham, County Durham, had been arrested 4,000 miles away on drug offences in Georgia, allegedly carrying 14kg of cannabis into the ex-Soviet nation. And recently 21-year-old Charlotte Lee May, from Coulsdon, south London, was arrested in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo after police discovered 46kg of 'Kush' - a synthetic strain of cannabis - in her suitcase. The former flight attendant, facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted, is claiming she had 'no idea' about the drugs worth up to £1.2 million and insisting they must have been planted in her luggage without her knowledge.
