Labour Governments at London and Cardiff are at odds

Nothing is worse than when families continue to bicker and lie to each other. This time Wales' public services will not face cuts despite a shortfall in covering a rise in employers' National Insurance contributions, according to Labour's Welsh secretary. Jo Stevens' comments appear to contradict the Welsh Government's finance secretary, Mark Drakeford, who previously warned he was facing a £36m black hole. Who can the people of Wales believe, with one blaming the other to save his job and the other defending Starmer? Many thanks Andrew Nutt, Bargoed

Question over George Cottrell and Nigel Farage campaign

Known as 'Posh George,' George Cottrell was a volunteer for Farage in 2016 before his arrest in the US on money-laundering charges and ultimate guilty plea to one count of wire fraud in a case unrelated to his work at Ukip, Farage's party at the time. The crime was committed in 2014, before Cottrell worked for either the anti-EU party or Farage. Cottrell served eight months after a plea agreement that reduced his possible prison sentence from a maximum of 20 years, according to court documents at the time. He has been seen at Farage's side on the campaign trail over the last week, including the day the Reform UK leader was hit by a milkshake thrown by a member of the public. Many thanks, Andrew Nutt, Bargoed

Reader questions Dyson's calls to leave the EU Single Market

Since the referendum, Dyson has stated that Britain should leave the EU Single Market and that this would 'liberate' the economy and allow Britain to strike its own trade deals around the world. Dyson has a global manufacturing footprint with key facilities in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. While Dyson's headquarters are in Singapore, their manufacturing operations are primarily located in Southeast Asia, allowing them to be close to supply chains and international markets. Dyson also has a presence in the UK, with their core creative and engineering campus in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. Dyson vacuum cleaners and washing machines were made in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, until 2002, when the company transferred vacuum cleaner production to Malaysia. There was some controversy over the reason for this move, as well as over plans to expand Dyson's factory to increase production. Many thanks, Andrew Nutt, Bargoed

Shocking moment biker, 21, drags brave police officer across road as he tries to arrest him over dangerous town centre wheelies

This is the shocking moment a reckless biker dragged a brave police officer across a road as he tried to arrest him. Sergeant Tom Brookes asked Scott Ryall, 21, to pull over after he spotted him doing dangerous wheelies in Bargoed town centre in South Wales on April 8. The biker, who had stopped at a traffic light, sped off with the policeman in tow, much to the shock of an onlooking bus driver. After a police chase, the pair eventually crashed into a grass verge. Now dramatic footage has emerged of the incident, which led to Ryall's immediate arrest. The bike could be seen zooming from a side street, across an island of traffic lights and onto a main road, with the brave officer hanging off it. The speeding driver then loses control of the motorcycle as he enters a slip road, with a Gwent Police car in hot pursuit. Ryall then weaves between a road sign and a traffic light before clipping a bin and smashing into a grassy bank, still carrying Sgt Brookes on his bike. The bike seen zooming from a side street, across an island of traffic lights and onto a main road At this point, the police vehicle crosses the main road to catch up with him and assist in the arrest. The force said: 'When [Sgt Brookes] tried to detain the rider, however, the rider accelerated, pulling the officer across the road in front of an onlooking bus driver. 'The bike ended up on a grass verge opposite the junction before Sgt Brookes arrested the rider.' Ryall, of Blackwood, Caerphilly, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at Newport Magistrates Court on Thursday. He was handed a suspended sentence but was banned from driving for 15 months and his green Kawasaki was seized and crushed. Speaking after the sentence, Sgt Brookes said: 'Both the rider and I were extremely fortunate that the road wasn't busier at the time. 'The defendant shouldn't have been on the road in the first place, but his reckless and thoughtless riding by pulling wheelies on a main road in a town centre put himself, officers, motorists and pedestrians at risk. 'Our neighbourhood team across Caerphilly north will not tolerate the illegal and dangerous use of off-road vehicles and continue to plan proactive operations to keep roads and rural areas safe and remove these vehicles from our streets.'

Reader's views on the various policies of Reform UK

But here's the truth: This is not a tax break for all Indian workers. It's a standard exemption for a small group of seconded workers, people temporarily sent to the UK by their company, usually for just a few years. They don't pay National Insurance twice, once here and once at home. That's it. And guess what? British workers posted abroad get the same deal. We've had this arrangement with the US, Japan, and others for years. Reform UK has a two-tier system of working conditions. If you work under them as a civil servant in the council, they will replace you if you don't stop working from home. While if you work for the party, then you have the option of working from home, the difference is that one follows a Trump agenda, and the other doesn't. The head of one of Britain's biggest fracking companies said fracking won't work in the UK due to 'challenging geology' - and in turn, won't bring down energy prices. If the head of a fracking company can see fracking won't work, why can't Nigel Farage? Finally, Reform UK's main policy is to stop the boat people, and that is to tow the boats back to France. Currently, the UK and France don't have that kind of agreement, thanks to Brexit. Even though that policy doesn't stop the boats from leaving the French shores, it's not a proper policy. Many thanks, Andrew Nutt, Bargoed.
