BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is back and is this year taking place in Liverpool's Sefton Park and will see some of the biggest names in music performing – here's what you need to know
BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend kicks off today, and the city of Liverpool has been transformed. The event has previously been held in cities including Coventry, and last year it was in Luton. Over the course of the next three days, some of the biggest names will descend on Sefton Park, including Tom Grennan, Sam Fender, Natasha Bedingfield, Mumford and Sons and JADE (Thirlwall).
Tickets for Big Weekend sold out almost instantly, with only a handful of Friday tickets left on Ticketmaster. To help you prepare for the event, we've outlined everything you need to know, including set times, the line-up, the weather, and the prices of both non-alcoholic drinks and alcoholic beverages.

But before the nitty and gritty – here's the key bit of information you need. With Sefton Park being situated in a residential area, there are strict curfews this weekend. Gates will open at 2pm on Friday, 11am on Saturday and 11am on Sunday. All three days are scheduled to end at 10pm.

YouTube star and EastEnders actress among first batch of Strictly contestants

The popular BBC dancing show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, will return to TV screens in September with a new host of famous faces competing each week to win the glitterball trophy. Podcast host and YouTube star George Clarke was announced as the sixth celebrity contestant on Tuesday during BBC Radio 1's Going Home drivetime show. Clarke, also known as George Clarkey, said: 'Never thought I'd say this … but I'm doing Strictly! Honestly, I've got no idea what I'm doing but I'm excited to get stuck in … and potentially fall over a fair bit.' It comes after EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal was revealed as a contestant during a segment filmed live from Albert Square on ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB). She said that 'being on Strictly is a dream that I held on to, with no proof that it would ever happen'. The other stars confirmed to be competing are Love Island winner Dani Dyer, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston and former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Speaking on The One Show after her reveal, Dyer, who is the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, said: 'It's such a fun magical show – to be asked to do it is such an honour. 'I just can't wait to be able to wear (the costumes) – it's going to be so much fun.' A post shared by BBC Strictly (@bbcstrictly) Former Chelsea footballer Hasselbaink said: 'I'm a father of only girls and Strictly is a part of our home life – I like the show. Let's have a go.' Actress Kingston, who interrupted her holiday in Italy to speak to hosts Alex Scott and Roman Kemp, joked: 'I was super excited but now I'm terrified.' Aikines-Aryeetey, known as Nitro on the rebooted Gladiators, previously competed in last year's Strictly Christmas Special and described his decision to return on Monday as 'so nice I just had to do it twice'. In July, the BBC announced that two 'incredible' new professional dancers, US-born Alexis Warr and Australian dancer Julian Caillon, would be joining the show. Daly and Winkleman will return as presenters with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas on the judges' table. Strictly will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.

BREAKING: Calvin Harris suffers heartbreak as pet 'murdered by idiot neighbour's dog'

Calvin Harris has shared his outrage following the death of his beloved pet as he claimed they were "murdered" by his neighbours. The DJ, who recently welcomed his first child, shared a photo of him holding Smokey as he shared the sad news. He paid tribute to the cockerel alongside a snap of him topless in his large garden. Calvin wrote: "RIP Smokey we love you. Raised this lad from chick to a majestic cockerel." The music star fumed: "Murdered by the idiot neighbours grimey dog. Absolutely gutted." It comes just a week after Calvin revealed he has welcomed his first child with Vick Hope. Last week, he shared the happy news the couple had welcomed a baby son on July 20. He shared sweet snaps from their home as they have been wrapped up in their love bubble. One Kiss hitmaker Calvin shared the very first picture of his newborn son and announced the beautifully unique name the couple have chose for their first-born child. Alongside an adorable photo of the couple's newborn baby cuddling into his dad's chest, Calvin wrote: "20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah." In the collection of photos Calvin shared announcing the birth of Micah, it was revealed that Vick had a water birth as she was seen in a blue birthing pool surrounded by candles. The new mum gave birth to her son outside on a balcony, and with an incredible view in front of her as greenery and trees surrounded them. One sweet picture showed Calvin kneeling down beside his partner seemingly just seconds after Micah was born. The Scottish DJ's Instagram post also featured a 'jump scare' as he posted a picture of Vick's placenta before going on to post more pictures of how the couple preserved it. This technique involves steaming, dehydrating, and grinding the placenta into capsules for consumption. Calvin and Vick chose to keep their pregnancy under wraps for as long as possible before finally announcing the happy news back in late May. Vick broke the news to her fans while finishing her last BBC Radio 1 show before heading on maternity. She said: "I should say that this is my final week. "I wanted to share that with you because we've had such a lovely time over the last few weeks. That time is coming to an end for a bit because I'm going on maternity leave next week." Former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing piped in "You're an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you're just going to be an amazing mum." Vick then went on to share why she didn't formally announced she was expecting a baby. She explained: "This is not an announcement, by the way. People keep saying are you going to announce, are you going to announce? And I'm like, I'm not the King. I do not see the point, it's not for me. I'll be honest, I struggle with anything that's personal or private. "I will tell you a story about eating a kebab out of a bin, that's one thing. But there's a line and so I've never been that big on sharing. Particularly because I've just been enjoying this privately and quietly."

Stumped Jeremy Vine gets tricky Celebrity Catchphrase on fourth attempt – could you have beat him to it?

JEREMY Vine was left scratching his head after taking FOUR tries to crack a fiendish Celebrity Catchphrase - but would you have got it quicker? The TV presenter, known for his quick wit on the Jeremy Vine show, found himself completely baffled by the tricky phrase on Celebrity Catchphrase. 4 The iconic ITV game show encourages contestants to "say what they see" - but this isn't always obvious. Stephen Mulhern welcomed Jeremy, BBC One radio DJ Charlie Hedges and comedian and actor Luke Kempnern to the studio. However, Charlie and Luke didn't get a look in when one catchphrase saw Jeremy pressing and guessing several times. After three wrong guesses, viewers were on the edge of their seats wondering if he'd finally get it right. Think you're sharper? Give it a go and see if you could have solved the puzzle faster. The clue showed a woman relaxing on a deck chair, picking up a small side plate on the table beside her. On the plate was a slice of cake, and on the cake was an image of tall gates in the sky on clouds. Just seconds in, Jeremy was quick to buzz in and guess "pearly gates," to which host Stephen Mulhern revealed was incorrect. Just moments later, Jeremy buzzed in again with "Black Forest gateau." Watch the moment Joe Lycett is stumped by 'way too hard' Celebrity Catchphrase question Stephen said he was incorrect again. He then helped the players out by adding: "She could be happier... oh, I've got my..." Jeremy buzzed in again with "heavenly cake." Stephen revealed it was wrong again, but "heaven is in the phrase" and added, "she's in her happy place." Hardest Quiz Show Questions Would you know the answers to some of quizzing TV's hardest questions Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. Host Jeremy Clarkson asked: 'From the 2000 awards ceremony onwards, the Best Actress Oscar has never been won by a woman whose surname begins with which one of these letters?' The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000. The 1% Club - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. The Chase - The ITV daytime favourite left fans scratching their heads when it threw up one of the most bizarre questions to ever grace the programme. One of the questions asked the player: "Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?" The options were - sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots - with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes. Have you got it yet? Jeremy buzzed in for a fourth time, this time with the right answer... "a slice of heaven." Charlie and Luke applauded Jeremy's efforts and persistence as they also celebrated him getting the right answer. Having seen off the competition, it was Luke who advanced to the Super Catchphrase round. He just missed out on winning a jackpot of £25,000, but managed to take home £16,200 for his charity, Little Lives UK. Celebrity Catchphrase airs on ITV1 and ITVX. 4 4
