School choir performance EXPLODES into violent brawl between parents in dramatic video

Daily Mail14-05-2025

Shocking footage captured the moment parents exploded into a wild brawl after a children's choir concert in Texas.
The melee unfolded Monday at West Plains High School in Amarillo after students finished performing for their families.
Several parents were seen shoving each other in the hall, including one woman in a blue top who punched a man in the back of the head.
One man in a vest appeared to be at the center of the fight when it broke out, and he was held back by several others as he squared off with another man in a white t shirt.
When the man in the vest was pushed back against a wall, two other men then confronted him and pointed their fingers in his face.
A young boy who witnessed the outburst could be seen being comforted by his mother nearby as he was left in tears by the brawl.
The footage ended with the man in the vest speaking with other parents as the man he squared off with was escorted out by other witnesses.
The Amarillo Police Department told KAMR that a school administrator called the cops to make a report after the incident, but no arrests were made.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, none of the parents involved in the clash wanted to press charges after the fight was broken up.
It is not clear what ignited the brawl between the parents, however witness Michelle Murphy Lancaster took to Facebook after sharing the footage to explain what she saw.
Lancaster said one of her children participated in the choir performance, saying she pulled out her phone to record after 'hearing an altercation.'
'I decided to tape after the first punch was thrown,' she wrote, adding that one of the men in the fight had his name on his shirt and was a known insurance agent in the community.
'I heard the first part of the fight as they were exiting the auditorium,' she continued. Lancaster said she stopped the flow of people exiting the performance.
Lancaster said the insurance agent's daughter tried to break up the brawl, and 'another lady called 911 for me' as she filmed the melee.
'There were SO many kids there - very scary situation,' she added.
Officials with Canyon Independent School District slammed the families in a statement after the footage swept social media.
'School events are meant to celebrate student learning and achievement, and we expect all guests to model respectful behavior and uphold the event's decorum,' the statement read.
'Student safety is always our top priority. While we can't comment on individual matters, the district has taken appropriate steps in response to the situation.'

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ex-girlfriend testifies he rebuffed pleas that escorts wear condoms

NEW YORK, June 6 (Reuters) - Sean "Diddy" Combs twice rebuffed a former girlfriend's requests that male entertainers wear condoms when having sex with her as Combs watched, the woman said on Friday during often tearful testimony at the hip-hop mogul's sex trafficking trial. The woman, testifying under the pseudonym Jane to protect her privacy, said Combs would "guilt trip" her when she asked that the entertainers wear condoms during their frequent, lengthy sexual encounters. The sexual interactions resembled what another one of Combs' exes, Casandra Ventura, referred to as "Freak Offs" during her testimony last month. Jurors in the Manhattan federal court trial heard an audio recording in which Combs intervened after Jane asked a male entertainer named Don if he had a condom. As the recording was played, Combs rapidly tapped his fingers against his leg while seated at the defense table. "Why didn't you just insist that Don wear a condom?" prosecutor Maurene Comey asked. "Because I just didn't want to disappoint my lover," Jane responded, referring to Combs. Jane said she and Combs dated from 2021 through 2024. Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to five felony counts including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Prosecutors say he coerced women over two decades to take part in elaborate, drug-fueled sexual performances during Freak Offs over two decades. The Bad Boy Records founder's defense lawyers have acknowledged that Combs was occasionally abusive in domestic relationships, but say the women who took part in Freak Offs did so consensually. During the first day of her testimony on Thursday, Jane said she was "head over heels" for Combs and wanted to have a one-on-one relationship with him, but that starting five months into their relationship most of their time together involved sexual interactions with male escorts in hotels. Jane said that when she told Combs she wanted those encounters to stop, he threatened to stop paying her rent. On Friday, Jane frequently sobbed and dabbed her eyes with a tissue as she told jurors how Combs would encourage her to keep going even after she grew tired during the encounters, which she said often lasted 24 hours or more. She recounted one instance in which she broke down crying after Combs said he had to leave following an encounter with an entertainer, despite having promised Jane a one-on-one date night and that the entertainer would be there for "just a little bit." "I hung onto those words, just a little bit," Jane said. "I was feeling terrible that he was going to leave me alone." Combs' defense lawyers are expected to cross-examine Jane next week. They may focus on sexually explicit text messages that she sent Combs in between their encounters to show she was a willing participant in their relationship. Combs has been in federal lockup in Brooklyn since his September 2024 arrest. He could face life in prison if convicted on all counts.

REVEALED: America's worst state for active shooters

Texas saw more active shooter reports than any other state in 2024 — with disturbing incidents unfolding everywhere from church pews to parking lots, according to a shocking new FBI report. The Lone Star State logged four separate active shooter events last year, the most in the country, leaving 11 people either dead or injured. California and North Carolina trailed behind with two each. Nationwide, the FBI counted 24 active shooter incidents in 2024 — half as many as the year before. However, the report cautions that despite the decline in incidents last year, the overall trend remains concerning. Active shooter cases rose 70 per cent since 2020 compared to the previous five-year period. Texas is a key driver of that spike, with a staggering 22 incidents recorded over five years, second only to California's 25. In total, 369 people have been killed and 701 injured in U.S. active shooter attacks since 2020. The FBI's definition of 'active shooter' is specific: it refers to someone trying to kill in a populated area, typically with a gun — even if there's just one victim. It is not the same as a mass shooting. Texas's loose gun laws may also factor into the state's high numbers. The state has some of the most permissive firearm regulations in the U.S. Residents are allowed to carry handguns in public without a license or training under the 2021 permit less carry law. There is no requirement to register firearms or report private gun sales, and background checks for such transactions are not mandatory. Texas also has a strong 'stand your ground' law and no waiting period for gun purchases. Despite Texas's lead in raw numbers, the most deadly single shooting of 2024 took place in Arkansas, where a gunman opened fire at a supermarket in June, killing four and injuring 10. One of the most shocking Texas incidents occurred on February 11 at Houston's Lakewood Church — the megachurch led by televangelist Joel Osteen. Texas's permissive gun laws may be a contributing factor; residents can carry handguns without a permit or training, and there are no background checks required for private sales (Pictured: Law enforcement stands outside of a reunification center after the Lakewood Church shooting) During the busy Sunday service, 36-year-old Genesse Moreno walked into the building armed with an AR-style rifle. Her 7-year-old son was with her. Witnesses say she opened fire in the church's hallway while shouting in Spanish. Chaos broke out as parishioners ran for cover. Off-duty officers working security returned fire, killing Moreno at the scene. Her son was critically injured in the exchange, along with a 57-year-old man. Authorities later revealed the weapon had been purchased legally in 2016 and had a 'Palestine' sticker on it. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

Nottingham operator warns against 'dangerous' TikTok trend

A tram operator has warned against a "dangerous" TikTok it says is influencing young people to hold on to the back of trams while they are moving. Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said a so-called "tram surfing" trend had caused a "recent rise of a number of incidents".The firm said it had received a number of videos of incidents which it had shared with police. Managing director at NET Sarah Turner said the behaviour "could result in death or serious injury" and was not something the firm was taking lightly. 'Risk to life' "All of the footage and videos we've received of such incidents have been shared with the police who are now handling it as a criminal matter," she said. Nottinghamshire Police has been contacted for comment. Ms Turner said NET would be reaching out to schools of those caught engaging in the trend and schools in the area to "educate students of the severity" of the trend. She added: "Although incidents of this are usually very rare, anyone taking part in this trend, whether doing the challenge or filming it and sharing it online, is playing their part in publicising an extremely dangerous activity that ultimately could end someone's life."We'd like to remind the public of our strong measures that are in place to keep our network safe, including high quality CCTV cameras in all trams and tram stops, which means that every incident is recorded and handed over to the authorities."Anyone caught engaging in dangerous activities such as tram surfing will face the very real repercussions of their actions."
