BRS leader Kavitha meets KCR ahead of trip to US
According to sources, Kavitha was accompanied by her husband and younger son Arya. She reportedly visited the farmhouse to seek KCR's blessings for Arya, who is set to leave for the US for higher studies.
It may be mentioned here that Kavitha had ruffled a few feathers within the BRS by openly criticising the pink party leaders, especially after a letter she reportedly wrote to the BRS chief was allegedly leaked to the media. This is only her second meeting with her father since her outburst against BRS leaders.
Earlier, she visited KCR's farmhouse the day he appeared before the Commission of Inquiry on KLIS project.
Meanwhile, party sources revealed that Kavitha, along with her son, will be travelling to the US, where she is likely to stay for 15 days.
The MLC, who is facing charges for her alleged role in the Delhi liquor scam case, is believed to have obtained permission from the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi to travel abroad.
According to sources, former minister T Harish Rao, ex-MP B Vinod Kumar and a few other BRS leaders also met KCR during the day to discuss party's internal matters.

Harish, KTR slam Cong govt for neglecting farmers, scrapping Pharma City
Hyderabad: BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Sunday accused the Congress govt of criminal negligence in handling the state's irrigation systems during the ongoing floods. On the other hand, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has demanded that the govt immediately give clarity to the public, especially farmers, on the proposed 'Future City'. Addressing a media conference in Siddipet, Harish Rao, who also served as irrigation minister during the previous BRS govt, alleged that the state failed to operate the Kaleshwaram project pumps and store floodwater in reservoirs, accusing the Congress govt of prioritising politics over farmers' welfare. The Congress govt, blinded by political vendetta, has completely neglected floodwater management, letting Krishna and Godavari river water flow into the sea while major reservoirs lie empty, he added. He questioned why the govt was not making use of the floodwater even though Sripada Yellampalli was receiving 62,000 cusecs and Kadem project over 1.5 lakh cusecs of water due to heavy rain. This water could easily be diverted to fill reservoirs like Mid Manair, Annapurna, Ranganayakasagar, Mallannasagar, Kondapochamma and Baswapur, which were either dry or severely under-filled. Meanwhile, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has said the so-called 'Future City', repeatedly mentioned by CM Revanth Reddy, has no future and criticised the Cong govt for scrapping the Pharma City project, initiated by the previous KCR govt, and replacing it with an imaginary 'Future City'. KTR alleged that even though the previous govt had started developing infrastructure with crores of rupees of public money for the Pharma City project, Revanth Reddy's govt has sidelined it and was now trying to illegally divert the land for real estate under the name of 'Future City'. He warned that the govt's actions were against public interest and would cause harm to the people, especially the farmers. KTR demanded that the govt immediately respond and provide clarity to the public and farmers. He also made it clear that if the govt fails to do so, BRS would fight on behalf of the farmers. KTR calls ECI ‘extended arm of NDA'
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday said that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voters list appears to resemble not the electoral rolls but the Election Commission of India itself. "Yes! We need an SIR! But today's press conference of ECI left us with more questions than answers. The Chief Election Commissioner's explanations seem more like excuses than solutions. The only thing that we clearly now know is that the Election Commission of India (ECI), which is supposed to safeguard the democratic process, seems to be functioning as an extended arm of the NDA ," he said in a post on X. "If the ECI acknowledges discrepancies in the voter list, shouldn't they also accept the dereliction of their duties?" he asked. BRS leader Rama Rao demands revision of ECI appointment process
Hyderabad, Aug 17 (PTI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Sunday alleged that the Election Commission seems to be functioning as an extended arm of the NDA and demanded revision of the ECI appointment process. Reacting to the EC's press conference, Rao, in a post on 'X', said: 'Today's press conference left us with more questions than answers. Chief Election Commissioner's explanations seem more like excuses than solutions". Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Sunday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gynaesh Kumar said the electoral roll revision is aimed at removing all shortcomings in voter lists and it is a matter of grave concern that some parties are spreading misinformation about it and 'firing from the EC's shoulder". Kumar sought to demolish 'vote theft' allegations levelled by Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, citing provisions of the Constitution and clauses of electoral laws. The BRS leader said, 'Yes! We need an SIR! The Special Intensive Revision not of the electoral rolls but of the Election Commission of India itself. The only thing that we clearly now know is that the Election Commission of India (ECI) which is supposed to safeguard the democratic process seems to be functioning as an extended arm of the NDA". Rao said if the ECI acknowledges 'discrepancies" in the voter list, shouldn't they also accept the 'dereliction of their duties?" 'It is high time that we demand a revision not of the voter list but a revision of ECI appointment process…a clinical overhaul of the system so that we can still continue to call ourselves a democracy," he said.
