Whoa, A Ton Of Cool New Games Just Got Announced For Xbox Game Pass

Yahoo24-02-2025

It's looking like a good Game Pass harvest this year, especially because Microsoft's backlog of big first-party Xbox games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Fable are coming in 2025. But tons of other cool stuff is headed to the subscription service as well, and a bunch of them were announced during the company's ID@Xbox showcase on Monday.
The event was an indie cornucopia of new game, trailer, and release date announcements, including a bunch of cool-looking stuff that will be included day-and-date in Game Pass Ultimate and PC in the weeks and months ahead. Here's everything new announced for the Netflix-like library of games today:
33 Immortals - March 18
Descenders Next - April 9
Blue Prince - April 10
Tempopo - April 17
Revenge of the Savage Planet - May 8
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault - TBD 2025
Tanuki: Pon's Summer - TBD 2025
Ultimate Sheep Racoon - TBD
Echo Weaver - TBD
New Game Pass additions weren't the only interesting news out of the event. Other noteworthy announcements included 2024 hit poker roguelike Balatro joining Game Pass today, as well as the top-rated multiplayer gambling horror game Buckshot Roulette joining the service when it gets ported to Xbox in the near future.
We also got new release windows. Hotel Barcelona, the 2.5D action-platformer collaboration between legendary designers Suda51 and Swery, got a release window of 2025 while Ratatan, the spiritual successor to Patapon, is coming this year too. In the near-term, Tron: Catalyst, the upcoming isometric action game from Bithell Games, announced a release date of June 17, with Herding, the atmospheric puzzle game from the FAR: Lone Sails team following soon after.
Meanwhile, the beautiful solarpunk road trip van sim Outbound will launch in 2026, which is also when slice-of-life record store sim Wax Heads is scheduled to arrive. Oh, and the ever beautiful-looking Woodo, a cozy game about diorama puzzles, will hit Xbox alongside its PC release.
Finally, the latest ID@Xbox event also had two new premieres. The first was for Rockbeasts, a narrative-driven music RPG about managing a band of '90s up-and-coming rock stars who are also animals. The second was for The Lonesome Guild, a party-based action-RPG in which you play a ghost guiding a group of whimsical adventurers through a crumbling world.
But the game that most caught my eye during today's showcase was Echo Weaver. The 2D 'Metroidbrainia' was first revealed back in 2024 and it continues to look very neat. You have to uncover secrets and manage the clock to liberate yourself from a glitched time loop. It's the next game from the creators of the beautiful puzzle adventure The Wild at Heart and it looks like it could be something special.

I Tried Microsoft's New Free AI Video Generator: Here's How to Use It

Microsoft has a new, free tool to let you create AI-generated videos: the Bing Video Creator. When I tried it out just now, typing in a text prompt, in less than a minute the app generated a 5-second video of the Bing logo on an inflatable floating in a pool along with flamingo and donut floaties. There are some limitations -- for starters, the 5-second length. Also, for now, videos are only in a 9:16 vertical format; Microsoft says a 16:9 horizontal format will be available soon. Users have the option of making a "fast" or "standard" video. Fast, which is the default, is almost instantaneous, while Standard can take hours, according to the app. Fast requires the use of Microsoft Rewards points, which can be earned with Bing searches and Microsoft Store purchase, among other ways. This is a frame from the 5-second video that Bing Video Creator whipped up for me. In the video, the water ripped gently and the floats bobbed lightly. Created by Omar Gallaga using Bing Video Generator The feature is currently only on the Bing Search mobile app, but is coming to Windows desktops and Copilot Search, according to the company. It's powered by OpenAI's Sora video technology Bing Video Creator joins other major AI-driven video creation tools, including Sora from OpenAI's ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Google Veo, Runway and Meta Movie Gen. You can check out what Google's latest Veo 3 feature can do for those willing to pay for Gemini Ultra. The technology is moving quickly, with more and more options becoming available, some offering free access, others charging a fee or including them in AI-service subscriptions. How to use Bing Video Creator It's not instantly intuitive how to find or use the Video Creator, especially if you're not already using the Bing Search app. In the app, I accessed the feature by clicking on the box on the bottom right of the home screen. That brings up lots of apps within the app; look for "Video Creator" on the bottom left. There, you can create a still image or video by typing in a text prompt. Using the Fast option, which is the default, should generate the short video in moments. You can also type "Create a video of..." directly in the app's main search bar if you don't want to hunt for the feature. You can download and share the video. When I tried it out, I found the video was not very high quality and was not easy to download directly from the app. Sharing a link to the video creation and viewing it outside the app offers an option to download the full video. Microsoft says it will keep your video creations available for 90 days.

40 Percent of Gamers Wait for Major Discounts - Here's Why That Matters

LONDON, June 03, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Digital entertainment marketplace Eneba has revealed a new set of data that provides insight into a new generation of gamers. In their latest survey, 40% of players said that a game only becomes worth buying with a steep discount. As game prices climb, deal-driven consumption is no longer a fringe habit - it's the central force shaping today's $85 billion games market. The Discount Generation It's no longer a niche tactic to look for discounted Steam keys. According to Eneba's survey, 48% of gamers rank price as the most important factor when making a purchase, above other factors like graphics, online reviews, or platform exclusivity. The stereotype of the impulsive gamer chasing the latest AAA release is fading. Instead, a methodical, value-first mindset thrives: wishlists get longer, impulse buys get rarer, and deals dictate demand. This isn't just belt-tightening. As more players jump across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, 70% say game deals tempt them to be less loyal to any single system. Loyalty is migrating: not to brands, but to bargains. Gamers Take Back Control With platform exclusivity losing its grip, discount culture is democratizing access. Cloud gaming and cross-platform play remove barriers, encouraging players to shop around and compare value. Xbox is already making moves to align itself with this new landscape - sharing its biggest titles, such as Forza Horizon 5, with PlayStation gamers. Publishers who rely on brand allegiance, early hype, or locked ecosystems are up against a consumer base that increasingly waits, compares, and pounces when prices drop. How Eneba Delivers the Value Eneba's strategy isn't about opportunistic sales but about architecting a discount-driven ecosystem. Every element, from Steam keys to subscription discounts, global payment options, and strong buyer protection, is designed for the discerning gamer who won't settle for second-best deals. Eneba is built for everyone seeking accessible and better-priced gaming. As budgets tighten and prices continue to rise, latest research shows that value has shifted from a perk to the baseline, a trend expected to grow. About Eneba Eneba is a digital entertainment marketplace that has served over 15 million buyers. Founded in 2018, Eneba has rapidly grown into a trusted ecosystem for gamers with game keys, gift cards, and mobile top-ups at the best prices, backed by robust customer support and fraud prevention measures. Sony Reveals Last-Minute PlayStation Showcase Ahead Of Summer Game Fest

Just when it seemed like Sony might be ditching the not-E3 festivities this year, it announced a new 40-minute State of Play will be airing tomorrow on June 4. The PlayStation showcase arrives in a packed week that includes the launch of the Switch 2, Summer Game Fest Live on Friday, and the Xbox summer showcase on Sunday. It feels like the gaming days of yore. Almost. What can we expect from this new State of Play livestream? Sony was cagier than usual. 'Watch live for news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5,' the PS Blog reads. 'The show highlights a selection of great games from creators across the globe.' Normally the company calls out VR games as well, so maybe this means the show will be strictly focused on upcoming PlayStation 5 releases. Despite Grand Theft Auto 6 being delayed until May 2026, it's becoming a decently packed fall for Sony between first-party exclusives like Ghost of Yotei and Marathon and third-party blockbusters like Borderlands 4. Mafia: The Old Country and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also drop in August. Could there be a few more big fall releases that we haven't officially heard about yet? Resident Evil 9 is already heavily rumored to be appearing at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. Maybe it'll get previewed first by Sony. The rest of Sony's first-party plans remain up in the air. Following the cancellation of a number of live-service projects, including games being worked on at Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, as well as the recent apparent setback of FairGame$, it's not clear what releases PlayStation Studios might have ready to go in the next 12 months. Insomniac'sWolverine game was first revealed back in 2021 but lost its creative director just last year. Maybe we'll see more of Housemarque's Saros, a new sci-fi roguelite in the vein of Returnal. The State of Play will begin streaming on YouTube and Twitch starting at 5:00 p.m. ET. . For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
