Mass Varalakshmi Vratam to be held in Pithapuram on Aug 22
As a local MLA, Pawan Kalyan is continuing the tradition of gifting turmeric, vermilion, and sarees to the women of the constituency. A total of 10,000 sarees are being arranged for distribution.
Hariprasad reviewed the preparations for the event with temple officials, police, and Janasena leaders. He offered several suggestions to ensure the smooth conduct of the Vratam. The meeting was attended by Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Nanaji, DCCB chairman Tummalapadu Ramaswamy, and other leaders.
Speaking to reporters, Hariprasad said, 'Pawan Kalyan has immense affection for the women of Pithapuram. He decided to continue this traditional community Varalakshmi Vratam to present them with these auspicious gifts. The Vratams will begin at 5 am on August 22 and will be conducted in five batches to avoid any inconvenience.'
He added that each batch would be named after a Goddess—Amba, Bhramaramba, Chamundi, Durga, and Eswari—as per the Deputy Chief Minister's suggestion, to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Nanaji stated, 'Based on the Deputy Chief Minister's instructions, we have directed officials to provide all necessary facilities for the devotees.'
The meeting was also attended by Civil Supplies Corporation Director Bodapati Sivadutt, Temple Executive Officer Katnam Jaganmohana Srinivas, and CI G. Srinivas.

VIJAYAWADA: The auspicious Varalakshmi Vratam was observed with great devotion and fervour at the Dokiparru temple today. Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in the sacred rituals dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, seeking her blessings for prosperity, wealth, and well-being. The temple premises were adorned with vibrant decorations, and the air resonated with chants and prayers as devotees performed the traditional puja with utmost reverence. The Varalakshmi Vratam, a Hindu festival observed by women, involves elaborate rituals, including the offering of flowers, fruits, and sweets to the goddess. Varalakshmi Vratam celebrated with grandeur
Dokiparru (Gudlavalleru): Hundreds of women gathered here on Friday for the grand Mass Varalakshmi Vratam at Sri Bhusameta Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam in Dokiparru Maha Kshetram. The event, held on the final Friday of the auspicious Sravana month, was a spectacular display of devotion and tradition. The temple, beautifully adorned with colourful lights and fresh flowers, was a sight to behold. The rituals began in the evening and continued late into the night. Sudha Reddy, the temple's founder-trustee, along with her family, including organisers Kommareddy Bapireddy and Vijaya Bhaskaramma, participated in the rituals alongside a large congregation of devotees. Special arrangements were made to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for everyone, with pooja materials sponsored and provided by trustees PV Krishnareddy and Sudha Reddy. According to Vedic scholars present at the event, the Varalakshmi Vratam is a deeply significant ritual dedicated to Goddess Varalakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and the Goddess of prosperity and well-being. It is a long-standing tradition at Dokiparru Maha Kshetram to conduct this Vratam on the fourth Friday of Sravana, seeking blessings for prosperity, good fortune, and marital bliss. The day's celebrations also included a Lakshmi Yagam and a Maha Shanti Homam in the morning. Following the evening rituals, Prasadam was distributed to all the devotees.
