Danish Kaneria Exposes Shahid Afridi, Supports Irfan Pathan: 'Always Resorts To Personal Attacks'
Last Updated: Danish Kaneria supported Irfan Pathan's account of heated exchanges with ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and his personal remarks. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently recounted his heated exchanges with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, highlighting some of the intense moments they shared both on and off the field. Pathan revealed that Afridi often tried to provoke him with sharp remarks, sometimes making personal comments. Ex-Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria came out in support of Pathan and endorsed the Indian cricketer's account. 'Irfan bhai, you're absolutely right. He always resorts to personal attacks, be it on someone's family or their religion. Class and decency clearly aren't his strengths," Kaneria posted on X, formerly Twitter. What Shahid Afridi Say To Irfan Pathan? During the interview with Lallantop, Pathan narrated an incident from the 2006 Pakistan tour, when both the Indian and Pakistani teams were flying together from Karachi to Lahore. 'During the 2006 tour, we were flying from Karachi to Lahore. Both teams were travelling together. Afridi came and put his hand on my head and messed up my hair. He asked me, 'How are you kid?'," Pathan recalled. 'I thought since when did you become my father. He behaved like a child. I was neither talking to him nor saying anything. After this Afridi said some bad things to me. His seat was near mine." He went on to explain how he responded with a sharp retort that silenced Afridi for the rest of the flight. 'Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq was sitting with me then. I asked him what kind of meat is available here. He told me meat of different animals are available. After this I asked whether dog meat is available. Razzaq was surprised to hear me and said, 'Hey Irfan why are you saying this?. He (Afridi) has eaten dog meat, he has been barking for so long," Pathan recalled with a laugh. According to Pathan, that episode marked the last time Afridi tried to taunt him directly. 'After this Afridi could not say anything. If he said anything I would have said look he is barking more. After this he remained quiet for the entire flight. He understood from this incident that he would not be able to fight me verbally. That is why he never said anything to me again," he concluded. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Is Instagram running out of ideas or just borrowing brilliantly?
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Instagram might just be the most flattering app on the planet. What began as a simple photo-sharing platform in 2010, all moody filters, latte art, and perfectly framed sunsets, has now evolved into a Frankenstein's monster of social media trends, borrowing features from every platform that's ever had a moment in the the latest update, Instagram introduced a 'repost' button for feed posts. Sounds familiar? That's because it's essentially Instagram's own version of X's retweet function. You can now amplify someone else's post directly to your followers without creating original content. For die-hard X users, this is old news. For Instagram, it's yet another step into a future where the platform feels less like its own entity and more like a collection of other people's greatest or Snapchat? This isn't the first time Instagram has gone feature shopping. In fact, the app has been on a years-long spree of borrowing from its competitors. It all began in 2016 with the launch of Instagram Stories, a clear nod to Snapchat's disappearing photo and video posts. At the time, critics dismissed it as a shameless copycat move. But here's the twist, Stories ended up surpassing Snapchat in daily active users within a year. It was proof that Instagram could not only mimic but also dominate the very trends it vs ReelsThen came Reels in 2020, Instagram's answer to TikTok's skyrocketing popularity. The timing was no coincidence. As TikTok began reshaping the way people consumed short-form videos, fast, addictive, endlessly scrollable, Instagram knew it couldn't risk being left was the solution, sliding seamlessly into the app's ecosystem and quickly becoming a central content format for influencers, brands, and everyday users into your DMsThe borrowing didn't stop there. Instagram's Direct Messages have steadily taken cues from Facebook Messenger, unsurprising, given both platforms are part of Meta's empire. Group chats, reactions, disappearing messages, even shared media previews all mirror Facebook's established features. For users, it means a familiar experience; for Instagram, it's another brick in the 'everything app' it X or Threads? And who could forget Threads, Instagram's text-first platform launched in 2023? Framed as a 'friendly' alternative to Twitter during a turbulent time for X, Threads borrowed heavily from the original Twitter experience, timelines, short text posts, and real-time conversation. While Threads lives as a separate app, its DNA is unmistakably tied to Instagram, from account linking to content sharing across both Instagram, this relentless adaptation is strategic. The platform's core mission now seems to be ensuring that if a user is going to engage with a certain type of content, they can do it without leaving the app, whether that content style originated elsewhere or not. The result is a one-stop social hub where you can post stories like Snapchat, make videos like TikTok, share updates like X, and message like final verdictadvertisementBut there's a trade-off. As Instagram continues to absorb features from everywhere else, it risks losing the unique identity that made it popular in the first place. Where once it was the go-to platform for beautifully curated visual storytelling, now it's a patchwork quilt of borrowed ideas. For some, that's progress; for others, it's the slow erosion of what Instagram used to the strategy is working, at least in the short term. With over two billion monthly active users, Instagram remains a dominant force in social media. Whether it's by innovation or imitation, it has managed to stay relevant in an industry where attention spans are fleeting and trends change the end, Instagram might just be proving that survival in the social media jungle isn't about being the first, but about being the last one standing, even if you have to borrow everyone else's tricks to do it.- Ends

Rajamouli launches ‘Rao Bahadur' glimpse
Superstar Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar's GMB Entertainment proudly present acclaimed filmmaker Venkatesh Maha's new film, 'Rao Bahadur', featuring the versatile Satya Dev in the lead role. Best known for his critically acclaimed films 'C/o Kancharapalem' and 'Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya', Venkatesh Maha now delves into an evocative psychological drama that promises to push the boundaries of Telugu cinema. Produced in collaboration with two of the industry's most successful banners—A+S Movies and SriChakraas Entertainments— 'Rao Bahadur' is already making waves. The title and first-look poster have struck a chord with audiences. Today, ace director SS Rajamouli unveiled a compelling new video titled 'Not Even A Teaser', offering a captivating glimpse into the world of the film. Set against the backdrop of a crumbling aristocracy, the story follows a reclusive protagonist who lives in isolation within an aging mansion. He believes himself to be cursed—not by a typical spirit, but by the very embodiment of doubt itself. This demon of doubt looms over his existence, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. The video subtly teases fragments of his past, including a mysterious love story that seems to hold deeper emotional and psychological layers. A parallel narrative unfolds through the lens of a police investigation, where probing questions only deepen the ambiguity and intrigue, suggesting that the strange occurrences are just the beginning of something far more unsettling. Stylistically, the film feels like visual poetry. With his distinct narrative voice, Venkatesh Maha once again showcases his flair for storytelling—blending drama, psychological thrills, and dark humour with poetic elegance. Satya Dev delivers a powerhouse performance, portraying a character that spans multiple timelines—from youthful innocence to aged wisdom. With strikingly different looks and a deeply immersive portrayal, he brings immense depth and nuance to the role. The teaser also introduces other main characters played by Vikas Muppala, Deepa Thomas, and Anand Bharathi. Cinematographer Kartik Parmar and composer Smaran Sai elevates the narrative with their artistic finesse. Rohan Singh's production design impresses with its authenticity and attention to detail, while the overall production values reflect a grand cinematic vision. The 'Not Even A Teaser' video has successfully sparked intrigue and anticipation, offering just a taste of the layered storytelling to come. 'Rao Bahadur' is slated for a global release in Summer 2026, in Telugu with subtitles in multiple languages.
