The gold rates in the international market have been fluctuating. Over the past few weeks gold rates have experienced a fall during the wedding season, fluctuating around Rs. 90,000 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold and approximately Rs. 1,00,000 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold.
The gold prices mentioned here are due at 8am, the prices could alter at every moment and hence the gold buyers need to track the live prices at a given time. The mentioned prices here are closing prices of yesterday while today's price would begin either with a decrease or increase.

Lucknow: Once a vibrant public space and weekend destination for families, the famous Haathi Park in the Old City is now a picture of neglect. Crumbling infrastructure, broken play equipment, and a complete absence of maintenance have left the park in a dilapidated state, paving the way for drug addicts and criminal elements to take over the premises after dark. Located strategically between the Daliganj railway and road bridges on MG Road, the park was once famed for its concrete elephant structure with internal stairs that children could climb. Now, it stands vandalised and misused, with its trunk and mouth reportedly being used to stash drugs. Mohan Singh, a shopkeeper in the locality, said: "The swings are broken, the lights don't work, and there's no one to guard the area. Criminals and addicts start gathering here every evening. What used to be a safe space for kids is now a spot we avoid after sunset." Discarded syringes, empty liquor bottles and tablet wrappers litter the park's corners. Despite repeated complaints, there was no response from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation or the police. With a nominal Rs 5 entry fee, they attracted hundreds daily and were part of every Lucknowite's childhood. While Buddha Park was renovated, Haathi Park was left to decay. It deserves the same attention," said Abdul Rauf, 68, a retired govt teacher from Chowk. Residents are now demanding that the LMC steps in to restore the park, with proper lighting, round-the-clock security and basic upkeep.

IIM Nagpur inducts 328 students into its MBA, PhD programmes
Nagpur: The 11th batch of the flagship MBA programme (2025-27) and the 5th batch of the PhD regular programme (2025-29) of IIM Nagpur was inducted at its MIHAN campus on Sunday. IIM Nagpur welcomed a diverse cohort of newly inducted students. Of the 323 MBA students enrolled, 100 are females and 223 males, representing 23 states and Union Territories, from Nagaland, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, UP, Delhi, and Bihar. Last year, the institute's intake was stretched up to 360 first-year admissions, marking a six-fold rise since it started operations with 60 students in Nagpur. IIM-N director Bhimaraya Metri told TOI the institute reached its current capacity to accommodate more students. "Last year, we stretched to 360 from an intake capacity of 260 by surrendering 30 executive education rooms to accommodate more MBA students. This time only 20 could be surrendered. This time, we can accommodate not more than 340 students in MBA and PhD programmes," he said. Over 3.30 lakh students registered through CAT while all IIMs have a combined intake of 6,000 seats. Among these new MBA students, 203 students have over six months of work experience, while 120 are freshers. The batch includes 204 engineering graduates, 90 from Arts and Commerce, 17 from Science, and 15 with a medical background, reflecting IIM Nagpur's academic and gender diversity. Additionally, five students were inducted into the full-time PhD programme this year. Prof Prakash Awasthy, chairperson of the MBA programme, welcomed the students, calling it a day of transformation. Professor Prashant Gupta, dean of academics, faculty, and alumni affairs, encouraged students to embrace continuous learning and make the most of their transformative journey at IIM Nagpur. Aparna Yadav's hubby accuses ex-associate of Rs 4cr extortion
Lucknow: Prateek Yadav, husband of Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women vice-chairperson and BJP functionary Aparna Yadav , has accused his former business partner of extorting over Rs 4 crore and threatening to ruin his reputation. An FIR has been filed at Gautampalli police station against three persons for alleged financial fraud, breach of trust, blackmail, and criminal intimidation on late Sunday. Yadav alleged that his former business partner had befriended him around 2011-12. Over the years, he pressured Yadav to partner in a real estate venture under the pretext of acquiring land near Shaheed Path. Yadav agreed to form Monal Infratech Pvt Ltd on May 25, 2015. While Yadav invested capital and acted as the company's promoter, the associate was made a director and given charge of operational responsibilities, including land acquisition and sales. Yadav said his associate misused his position with the intent to exploit his social connections. Instead of fulfilling his duties, the partner sidelined the company's business and siphoned off the investment for personal gain. The business partner began borrowing money from Yadav, citing fabricated family emergencies and financial crises. Trusting him, Yadav provided financial aid, expecting repayment. However, no money was returned. Yadav said that his health began deteriorating during Covid-19. Between 2020 and 2022, he suffered prolonged illness, compounded by successive deaths of his mother (Sep 2022), father (Oct 2022), and maternal uncle (Nov 2022). During this period, the partner allegedly intensified the financial exploitation and manipulated him emotionally to extract more funds. When Yadav recovered and confronted his business associate, he threatened him with legal consequences. According to the FIR, the busniess partner sent intimidating emails and WhatsApp messages to Yadav. Yadav also alleged that his business associate's two family members are complicit in the conspiracy.
