Why Fans Think Roman Reigns Will Return to WWE Soon

Yahoo5 days ago

Roman Reigns has been off WWE TV since the explosive fallout after WrestleMania 41, where he was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Since then, fans have been wondering when The Tribal Chief will return. And based on this week's RAW, many believe it could be sooner than expected.
All signs for Roman Reigns' WWE return listed
During Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins made his entrance with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. All four wore sharp suits, and while their look didn't mirror The Shield's signature gear, longtime fans picked up on a familiar vibe. Commentary added to the speculation, with Pat McAfee noting how Rollins hasn't had this kind of backup since his Shield days with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

No hand signs. No tactical gear. But the comparison wasn't accidental, as WWE rarely drops nostalgia without purpose. This felt like a subtle breadcrumb for fans paying attention.
Another big flag was Paul Heyman's sudden shift in tone. After weeks of avoiding any mention of Reigns, Heyman went out of his way to take shots at him. While hyping up Bronson Reed, he quipped that Reed had hurt Rollins more in one night than Roman had in a decade.
For someone who once stood by Reigns' side for years, that kind of insult felt especially loaded. And to top it off, Heyman closed his speech by asking the crowd to acknowledge Rollins.
Moreover, right now, the balance in WWE's main event scene feels a little lopsided. Rollins' crew is stacked, while CM Punk, Sami Zayn, and occasionally Jey Uso are struggling to keep up. Roman Reigns, who was betrayed by Heyman and beaten down by Rollins, would make sense to return to WWE.

Additionally, there was talk of Reigns returning for Money in the Bank 2025, but Rollins being announced for the ladder match makes that unlikely. If Rollins is in that match, the teased tag team showdown can't happen — at least not there. This shift has fans speculating that Reigns' comeback could be saved for a bigger moment, possibly SummerSlam.

Suns narrow coaching search to Cavaliers coaches Johnnie Bryant and Jordan Ott: Source

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns have narrowed their head-coaching search to two finalists, Cleveland Cavaliers associate head coach Johnnie Bryant and Cavs assistant coach Jordan Ott, a source briefed on the matter confirmed Monday. ESPN was first to report the Bryant and Ott news. After dismissing head coach Mike Budenholzer on April 14, owner Mat Ishbia and new general manager Brian Gregory promised a thorough search that produced more than 15 candidates. Ishbia is expected to meet with Bryant and Ott this week. This will mark the franchise's fourth head coach in as many years. Advertisement Bryant and Ott just concluded their first seasons on Kenny Atkinson's staff in Cleveland, producing an Eastern Conference-best 64 wins before losing to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals. While neither has NBA head-coaching experience, that hasn't been a roadblock for the Phoenix front office. Coming off the most disappointing season in franchise history, the Suns want to change their identity, focusing more on defense and toughness. Bryant, 39, has worked in assistant roles with the Utah Jazz (under head coach Quin Snyder) and New York Knicks (under Tom Thibodeau). In Utah, he earned attention for his developmental work with Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap and Donovan Mitchell. He also has worked privately with All-Star guard Damian Lillard. Ott, 40, got his NBA start working in Atlanta as video coordinator. He later worked for the Brooklyn Nets under Atkinson, Jacque Vaughn and Steve Nash, as well as for the Lakers under Darvin Ham. Like Ishbia and Gregory, Ott also has a Michigan State background, having worked in support roles under coach Tom Izzo. Last year, Ott interviewed for the Charlotte Hornets head-coach opening. Bryant and Ott advanced from Phoenix's latest round of interviews, which also included Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn, Oklahoma City Thunder assistant Dave Bliss and Dallas Mavericks assistant Sean Sweeney. With a nucleus of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, Phoenix had the NBA's highest payroll this season but failed to make even the Play-In Tournament, finishing 36-46. In a news conference after the season, Ishbia promised changes. Two weeks after firing Budenholzer, he promoted Gregory, a college basketball lifer who had worked as the team's vice president of player programming, to general manager. Long-time GM James Jones shifted to a senior advisory position. Advertisement The roster is also expected to change, although given Phoenix's status as a second-apron team, those moves will likely be complicated. The Suns explored moving Durant at February's trade deadline and will likely revisit those options. Beal also might be a long shot to return, but his contract (he is owed $111 million over the next two seasons and has a no-trade clause) makes for significant hurdles.

Seattle Sounders Players Accuse MLS Of Club World Cup Cash Grab

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - JUNE 01: Cristian Roldan #7 of the Seattle Sounders walks onto the field for ... More warm ups before the game against the Minnesota United FC at Lumen Field on June 01, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by) Seattle Sounders players wore t-shirts bearing the slogan 'Club World Cash Grab' ahead of their game against Minnesota United on Sunday night, as they seek bonuses more in fitting with the prize money received by clubs' participation in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. The 's' was stylised as a dollar sign to represent the lucrative amounts of money on offer to clubs in the tournament, which players feel is out of step with the latest collective bargaining agreement between the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) and Major League Soccer (MLS). The players were quickly backed by the MLSPA, who had prepared a statement and released it to coincide with the unveiling of the t-shirts worn pre-match. 'The MLSPA and all MLS players stand united with the Seattle Sounders players who tonight demanded a fair share of the FIFA Club World Cup prize money,' read the MLSPA statement. 'FIFA's new tournament piles on to players' ever-increasing workload without regard to their physical well-being. In order to seize this additional calendar territory, FIFA had to commit historic amounts of prize money to secure club and player participation. 'As a result, MLS will receive an unprecedented financial windfall. Despite this windfall, the league has refused to allocate a fair percentage of those funds to the players themselves.' SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - JUNE 01: Captains Michael Boxall #15 of Minnesota United and Stefan Frei #24 ... More of Seattle Sounders pose with referees before the MLS match on June 01, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by) The Sounders qualified for the now expanded and quadrennial Club World Cup on the back of their landmark Concacaf Champions League victory in 2022. The latest collective bargaining agreement was last updated in 2021, prior to the Sounders' qualification for the Club World Cup and before the United States was confirmed as the tournament's host. As a result, Club World Cup bonus payments are not specifically mentioned by name in the current CBA, as other tournaments outside of MLS, such as the Concacaf Champions Cup, the Leagues Cup, the Campeones Cup, the US Open Cup, and the Canadian Championship are. The relevant wording in the current CBA for non-specific tournaments, applicable to the Club World Cup, is: 'If an MLS Team or MLS receives prize money by virtue of the Team's performance and/or participation in a Compulsory Tournament or Non-Compulsory Tournament, players competing in that tournament will receive the following: If the Team or MLS receives prize money, fifty percent (50%) of such prize money up to a maximum payment to the Players (collectively) of $1,000,000 per tournament.' The prize money on offer at the Club World Cup means the MLS teams involved will receive at least $9.55 million just for participation, and this could rise depending on results in group stage matches. A team qualifying for the knockout rounds would receive an additional $7.5 million, meaning a prize pot could soon reach $20 million for any team that progresses from its group. Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC join the Sounders as MLS representatives in the tournament, and though they will be underdogs in their respective groups, the $9.55 million for participation alone is substantial, and far more than the prize money MLS receives in any other tournament. This is where the maximum of $1 million in bonuses to be shared among an entire team begins to look paltry in comparison to the money the clubs and the league will receive. If there was no $1 million limit and the 50% arrangement remained in place, the guaranteed bonus pool from the $9.55 million would amount to over $4,7 million shared out between the players. It is for this reason that the players believe the Club World Cup renders the CBA out of date with regards to bonuses, and are looking to come to an agreement with the league in relation to this tournament. 'For months, the players have privately and respectfully invited the league to discuss bonus terms, yet MLS has failed to bring forward a reasonable proposal,' the MLSPA added in its statement. 'Instead of recognizing the players who have brought MLS to the global stage, the league—which routinely asks the PA to deviate from the CBA—is clinging to an out-of-date CBA provision and ignoring longstanding international standards on what players typically receive from FIFA prize money in global competitions. 'It is the players who make the game possible. It is the players who are lifting MLS up on the global stage. They expect to be treated fairly and with respect.' Players are being asked to play more games than ever before, and with all the money swilling around in the game, especially at the top level, it is only right that they seek their fair share for the additional work. A players' association, such as the MLSPA, is important in a league like MLS where a salary cap is in place and the amount most players can earn is artificially limited by that cap and other roster rules and restrictions. The players' issue is not with the Club World Cup itself, but with MLS for not coming to an agreement regarding bonus payments from what is an unusually lucrative tournament for its teams.

Holocaust survivor among victims in Boulder, Colorado suspected terror attack

One victim from the Boulder, Colorado, suspected terror attack is a Holocaust survivor, according to a government official. Eight people were injured on Sunday, with one in critical condition, after Mohamed Sabry Soliman allegedly targeted a pro-Israel peaceful protest aimed at advocating for the release of Hamas hostages. Police said they received reports of a man who was setting people on fire. Leo Terrell, senior counsel for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, said in a post on X that one of the victims is a Holocaust survivor. "One of the victims of the Boulder attack was a Holocaust survivor. She endured the worst evil in human history. She came to America seeking safety," Terrell said. "And now, decades later, she's victimized again by a terrorist screaming 'Free Palestine.' The same slogan another terrorist just screamed when murdering Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim on May 21." "The attack on this survivor reminds me of the horror of October 7, when Holocaust survivors were murdered and dragged away by Hamas terrorists in Israel," he added. Soliman was charged with murder in the first degree – deliberation with intent; murder in the first degree – extreme indifference; crimes against at-risk adults/elderly; first-degree assault – non-family; first-degree assault – heat of passion; criminal attempt to commit class one and class two felonies; and use of explosives or incendiary devices during felony. He was booked into jail on Sunday where he remains on a $10 million bond. The alleged attack happened on Sunday during a gathering held by pro-Israel group "Run for Their Lives." During the attack, Soliman was allegedly heard yelling, "Free Palestine." According to sources who spoke with Fox News, Soliman was in the United States illegally and is an Egyptian national. The sources said Soliman first entered the U.S. on Aug. 27, 2022 on a B1/B2 non-immigrant, visa that expired on Feb. 26, 2023, but he didn't leave. Soliman filed a claim with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services on March 29, 2023, which authorized him to work through March 2025. FBI director Kash Patel has described the incident as a terror attack. "We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado," FBI director Kash Patel said. "Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available."
