Seth Rollins Provides Update On Knee Injury, How Long He'll Be Out
Seth Rollins continues to see the silver lining in certain situations. Rollins hurt his knee at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event last weekend. His match against LA Knight went to an improvised finish after doctors checked on him. During the Evolution post-show press conference, Triple H spoke about Seth Rollins' current condition. He said Rollins traveled to WWE Evolution to support his wife, Becky Lynch, and would be in Birmingham the next day to undergo an MRI for his injury. However, Seth Rollins says he couldn't have the MRI during a guest-hosting gig on Tuesday's episode of The Rich Eisen Show. Rollins said that despite traveling to Birmingham on Monday, he didn't undergo the MRI because his knee was too swollen to determine the cause of the issue. Seth Rollins expects to be out of action for a while Despite that, Rollins knows how the injury happened. He explained that when he attempted a moonsault, he felt his knee 'pop and buckle' on the landing. Rollins said he is still scheduled to undergo more screenings soon in Los Angeles. While he doesn't have a firm timeline, he expects he will be 'out for an extended period of time.' 'It was a little too swollen, so hopefully we're going to take another look in a week or two here in LA to try and get some sort of firm diagnosis and then we can go from there. I am not a doctor, I only know my body and what I feel. And what I feel is this is going to be me out for an extended period of time.' Despite missing time, Rollins said that the silver lining of the situation is that he gets to spend more time at home with his daughter, Roux, while he recovers from the knee injury. He also hopes he makes it back for WrestleMania, but he won't have any answers until they take another look at his knee. Seth Rollins' knee injury had a domino effect on Saturday Night's Main Event Seth Rollins' knee injury resulted in a few changes in WWE's plans at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Seth Rollins Teases Being At SummerSlam, Doubles Down On CM Punk Hate
Nothing is certain but death, taxes and Seth Rollins' hate for CM Punk. Rollins has been such a thorn in Punk's side—he flew thousands of miles just to cost the Straight Edge Superstar his Undisputed WWE Championship opportunity against John Cena at Night of Champions. The heated rivalry seems to have been put on hold after Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury in his match against LA Knight at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Rollins provided an update on his knee injury during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. Rollins' knee injury has been a hot topic this week, especially now that the validity of that injury has come into question. Elsewhere in the interview, a caller asked Rollins for his thoughts on CM Punk versus Gunther at WWE SummerSlam as well as his plans for the World Heavyweight Championship after he comes back from injury. 'Great questions, Rollins said. 'I think CM Punk, you know, he won the [gauntlet] match fair and square on [RAW] Monday. So, he's entitled to a championship match versus Gunther at SummerSlam—so good for him. I fully expect Gunther to turn his chest into ground beef, and I'm very excited to watch that from the confines of my living room. 'To be fair, I might be there. My wife is wrestling Lyra Valkyria for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. So we'll see, depending on how (rehab) goes, if traveling is easy enough, I might make my way out to… We're at MetLife. We're outside New York, for two nights… SummerSlam in August. So we'll see.' Seth Rollins on what he thinks about CM Punk 'You know, I mean, my feelings on CM Punk are not hard to find. I don't like the guy, never liked the guy, haven't liked the guy, probably never going to like the guy. You know what? I often wonder if is there any world where CM Punk and I could be friends? Is there any world where I could not hate this dude? And so far the answer is no.' 'And I'm not a guy that likes to hold grudges. I find that grudges, they take a lot of energy, (it) takes a lot to hold grudges. You know what I mean? It takes time, it takes effort, and I don't like that. I like to put my effort into good things, positive things… people I like, I love, not people I hate. I think he's the one that I mean, there's some other guys who I've had bad experiences with, but you know, water's under the bridge… not with him, not with old Phil Brooks.' Conflicting Reports Surrounding Seth Rollins' Injury Status: Is It Legitimate?
Seth Rollins appeared to suffer a serious knee injury at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event over the weekend. But was the spot legitimate? In the closing moments of the match between Seth Rollins and LA Knight on Saturday Night's Main Event, Rollins appeared to injure his right knee, which he's had a history of issues with. After being checked on by the referee and Paul Heyman, the match went right into the finish, with LA Knight picking up the victory. While it was initially reported that Rollins' injury was legitimate, we now have conflicting reports that this might have been the plan all along. John Pollock of POST Wrestling is reporting that he was informed 48 hours ahead of Saturday Night's Main Event that an injury angle with Rollins would be taking place to put him on crutches heading into SummerSlam next month. 'Here is what I have been told, and I will just share what I was told,' John Pollock began. 'I was told two days before this to look out for an injury angle with Seth Rollins that would — it was even described to me, it would be an injury angle that gets him on crutches going into SummerSlam, something to that effect. 'So I was told this two days before the match happened. So the only possibilities here, if I had been told this the day after this had played, and someone is telling me this isn't real, I would certainly need more information than that. The fact is, I was told this in advance. So this person is not psychic. They are not Nostradamus. There are only two options here. Is that this was a work, or they were planning a work, and he really did get hurt. And I don't think that's the case either. Is another special Seth Rollins cash-in on the horizon? 'So I'm very confident that this is a storyline and this is going to play itself out. This part is just me speculating here, is that for Seth Rollins, his is probably the most like celebrated cash-in that WWE promotes with the big heist of the century, like he can't just do a normal cash-in, they have to do something that is going to shock people. And certainly, this is a way. And believe me, I have heard they are going to go to great lengths on this one. I think they're gonna try very hard to make everyone believe he's out. 'I can't speak for what they're telling other people, or how many people know. I'm just conveying what I was told by a very, very good source. It's not even a case of like trust or not trust. This happened as it was described to me 48 hours before the angle was executed. This is not a case of, well, maybe this will happen, maybe this won't. We see it happened, it happened as it was described to me.' A little bit of both? Following Pollock's report, Bryan Alvarez chimed in on the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio. Alvarez stated the mixed reports regarding Rollins right now stem from the fact that he is dealing with some sort of injury. However, it didn't occur in the match with Knight on Saturday. With the idea being that Rollins will be out of action for a bit, but will return much sooner than WWE suggests that he will. Is Seth Rollins' Injury Legitimate or a Masterclass in Action? Exploring the Possibilities
Images via WWE: Seth Rollins At the 40th edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, Seth Rollins injured his right knee while trying to perform a lionsault from the second rope and landing awkwardly on the feet. The match got an impromptu finish with LA Knight picking up a quick victory. There were reports of the injury being legitimate, with Triple H confirming the same at the Evolution 2 post-event presser. However, there has been an interesting development on that front. WWE is being extra silent on Seth Rollins' injury update New reports have emerged from Fightful Select, which is bringing into question the legitimacy of Rollins' condition. Moreover, there has been a band of conflicting information, with some staff members being unsure of the larger narrative. For the unversed, Rollins was recently spotted moving with the help of crutches at Evolution and appeared on the Rich Eisen Show that he will be out for the near future. Apart from this, the company is allegedly being extra silent on the matter to create confusion and add spice to the former World Champion's arc leading into SummerSlam. One backstage producer even termed it as 'Machiavellian' which suggested that a complex plan is in action for 'The Visionary'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 21st Century Skills Start with Confident Communication Planet Spark Learn More Undo According to Ross Sapp, 'Producers, talent, and a number of staff are being told that Rollins' injury is legitimate, but there isn't a real solid detail on how long he could be out. Most everyone agrees that Rollins has some sort of injury, but there isn't a lot known on when he actually sustained it or if it was worked on Saturday Night's Main Event.' Is Seth Rollins Injury A WORK? WWE Talent 'Skeptical' | Scrapped SummerSlam Plans For the unversed, Wrestling Observer reported that Rollins had a legitimate injury way before SNME and needed time off anyway to deal with it. But that would not keep him out for long. As already mentioned, even WWE staff members are skeptical about the angle of this injury. Will Seth Rollins Return and Win the World Title at SummerSlam? It will be interesting to see if Rollins' injury will keep him out for a long period, or will this angle lead to something special at SummerSlam? The issue is that Rollins has had a legitimate knee injury and issues in the past. In November 2015, Rollins tore his MCL, ACL, and Meniscus during a house show match against Kane in Dublin. That incident forced 'The Architect' to miss WrestleMania 32 and also ended his first WWE title reign on a dismal note. Moreover, he even took time off after WrestleMania 40 to heal a knee injury after working on both nights of the PLE. Or if this angle is actually a scripted work, then maybe Rollins has something special for SummerSlam. Currently, CM Punk is set to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. The possible outcome could be Punk finally winning gold in WWE after 12 years and Rollins ruining his iconic moment by cashing his Money in the Bank briefcase. This could result in another 'Heist of the Century'. Either way, the promotion is tight-lipped on the matter, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.
