Manager disgusted after car reverses into Llandeilo café

Between 8.30 and 9.10am on Thursday, July 10, a BMW reportedly drove into Café Braz in Llandeilo.
The chairs and tables outside the premises were "smashed up", while the driver left no note to inform the café staff.
A chair was 'completely destroyed' during the incident. (Image: Cafe Braz) Manager at Café Braz, Alysha Coombs, said: 'Before we opened, I was walking the work and noticed that some of the chairs had been smashed up and a table had been damaged.
'I spoke to a window cleaner who works near the café, and he said that a BMW had reversed back into the tables and caused the damage. Meanwhile, there was no note left over for us, or anything put through the door to inform us of what had happened.
'The lights from the BMW were also left all over the floor and one of the chairs was completely destroyed.
'Nothing has ever happened like this before. We were utterly disgusted, but we haven't reached out to the police yet for an investigation. We're hoping someone will come forward with more information.'
Café Braz does not have CCTV installed so the owners have so far been unable to find the person responsible.
But according to what Alysha was told, the driver of the BMW had reversed towards the window cleaner because he thought that he knew him and was about to say hello.
He then realised he didn't know him and ended up reversing the car back into the café rather than using first gear and going forward.
Alysha continued: 'It's not ideal because we have a classic car show on Sunday. We're just glad that there were no kids sitting on the chair when the incident happened because they would have been hurt.
'From what I have been told, the BMW sustained a lot of damage. The driver had to get out of the car just to pull the table out of his vehicle.
'We believe it's a one-off incident, but we are still going to install CCTV outside. We have been under new ownership for just seven months, and this was a bit of a shock to the owners.'
Café Braz has since posted on Facebook asking for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson wrote: 'Did anyone witness a silver BMW crash into the tables and chairs of Café Braz this morning between 8:30am and 9:10am?
'I believe it was an 18 plate but I'm not certain. I was told by a witness that there was significant damage to the rear of the vehicle, however they were unable to provide us with the number plate."
