Taylor Swift Fans Wonder If She Is Doing Enough To Support Travis Kelce

Yahoo21-05-2025

Singer Taylor Swift has been involved with NFL star Travis Kelce for over a year now, which has created more opportunities for him outside of football.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had a hosting gig in 'Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?' and even acted in 'Grotesquerie.' Ahead of his appearance in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' one fan is wondering if the 'Love Story' singer is doing enough to support his projects off the field.
One fan took to Reddit to speculate about the state of their relationship, noting that Swift is quick to cheer for her friends' projects, but has done little to promote Kelce's screentime. They also noted that Kelce is quick to answer questions about her in interviews and talk about her on his New Heights podcast, while Swift doesn't seem to mention him at all.
'Taylor has made a post/comment on her IG about Conversation With Friends, Deadpool & Wolverine, Blink Twice, Selena's engagement, and Selena's album, but nothing for Grotesquerie or Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity,' the user noted.
'She has liked posts about Kelce's NFL accomplishments, which is the bare minimum, but never left a comment. I'm sure Taylor has people on her team reading posts on places like this sub, so maybe in July she'll promote Happy Gilmore 2 just to prove this post wrong,' they added.
'They've been together for almost two years, and I think she's publicly mentioned him maybe once or twice, yet he's gone around on podcasts and interviews talking about her all the time, and he's expected to shout his love from the rooftops,' the user continued.
'Remember how she was with Calvin and Tom? How was she willing to go with Joe to award shows? How she mouthed 'I love you' to Matty after 5 days of dating?' they asked, referring to her exes Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, Joe Alwyn, and Matty Healy.
'Recently, she stood him up at Mahomes' charity event, which she attended before. Is she too busy hiding for Rep TV?' they asked, referring to the charity event hosted by Kelce's teammate, Patrick Mahomes.
'This isn't an equal partnership,' they concluded. 'Travis fumbled Kayla Nicole. That girl was ride or die for him. She would post about that man all the time. It's not about fame and fortune, it's about having a loving, supportive partner who will put into a relationship what you put in, no less.'
Some users were not surprised by Swift's lack of attention to Kelce's career outside of football. 'Bro, duh it's a PR relationship,' one user wrote.
'Yes, it's true, but she doesn't even make one percent of the effort for 'the relationship. It's so fake,' another netizen commented.
'That's why I think it's NOT PR,' another user chimed in. 'PR would be more organized and consistent. With better baked goods.'
Swift has made a name for herself by baking homemade Pop-Tarts for the team, which she made for his photoshoot crew earlier this month.
One user had a lengthy reply to the idea that it was nothing but a PR relationship. 'I know the most popular theory is that their relationship is PR, but the thing is she's abused and been obnoxious with PR for years,' the user wrote. 'She knows her way around it and how to manipulate the public and her fanbase.'
'While I don't believe she actually loves him, I do believe it's actually a real relationship between them… on his end. Does he love her? I don't know, but I do think his ego loves the thought and excitement of them being together.'
'Her lack of engagement with his accomplishments and social media does nothing to boost it if it is a PR relationship. If anything, that could cause bad reactions,' they continued. 'I do, however, feel like she probably enjoys how obnoxiously vocal he is about their relationship, though, since she likes that immature, childish stuff, and we know her previous partners were a bit more lowkey.'
'But regardless, I think we all know those types of couples where they think they're in love but they really are just more so addicted to the high they get when together and what each person brings to the relationship,' they concluded.
Another user pointed out that Kelce's entertainment career is nothing when compared to her exes, like Tom Hiddleston and .
'Travis's illustrious Hollywood career so far includes a game show on Amazon Prime, a part in a dying TV franchise, and a bit part in an Adam Sandler sequel,' the user quipped. 'Taylor isn't gonna go around singing 'that's my man' for that crap. She doesn't want to put her stamp of approval on stinkers, even if that means not supporting her alleged BF.'

2025 Chiefs game-by-game predictions: Can they keep the dynasty alive?

The Kansas City Chiefs went to a third straight Super Bowl last season, a first for a franchise in NFL history, but they enter 2025 with a chip on their shoulder. Their embarrassing 40-22 Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles served as an emphatic reminder of the work that must be done to keep their dynasty alive. Big picture, the Chiefs are still the team to beat in the AFC. They still have coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The offense will feature a healthier skill group in the new season, too. But they have an imposing first-place schedule, including a Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles in Week 2, as well as tough games against the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. Here are our game-by-game predictions for the Chiefs: Week 1: vs. Chargers, Friday, Sept. 5 When they kick off in São Paulo, Brazil, don't be surprised to see a motivated Chiefs team to start 2025. They've won seven straight against the AFC West-rival Chargers, too. Result: Win, 1-0 record Week 2: vs. Eagles, Sunday, Sept. 14 Kansas City avenges its Super Bowl loss, showcasing improved play in the trenches (on both sides of the ball) and at wide receiver with a healthy Rashee Rice and fully integrated Hollywood Brown. Result: Win, 2-0 Week 3: at Giants, Sunday, Sept. 21 New York's defense, which adds No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter to a deep pass-rushing group, could be a force to be reckoned with. But it won't be able to slow the Chiefs' offense down enough for its own offense to keep up. Result: Win, 3-0 Week 4: vs. Ravens, Sunday, Sept. 28 The Ravens get back at the Chiefs, who won the regular-season opener between the teams last season. Kansas City could have issues against Baltimore's ascendant defense, which became a truly elite unit at the end of last season after a rough start under first-year coordinator Zach Orr. Result: Loss, 3-1 Week 5: at Jaguars, Monday, Oct. 6 Even with Travis Hunter in the fold at cornerback for Jacksonville, it's hard to imagine that last season's NFL-worst pass defense will be able to adequately slow down Mahomes & Co. Result: Win, 4-1 Week 6: vs. Lions, Sunday, Oct. 12 A Trent McDuffie-led secondary will have a chance to prove itself against quarterback Jared Goff and a potent group of Detroit pass-catchers. Result: Win, 5-1 Week 7: vs. Raiders, Sunday, Oct. 19 Las Vegas' offense is expected to run through rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, who could have a challenging day against the Kansas City front. The Chiefs ranked eighth in run defense in 2024. Result: Win, 6-1 Week 8: vs. Commanders, Monday, Oct. 27 With star quarterback Jayden Daniels in his second season and the Commanders' revamped supporting cast, Washington looks like a true Super Bowl contender. Kansas City learns that the hard way at home. Result: Loss, 6-2 Week 9: at Bills, Sunday, Nov. 2 The Chiefs may have the Bills' number in the playoffs, but not in the regular season, where Kansas City has lost four straight to Buffalo. A motivated Bills team makes that five straight, playing in front of their home fans. Result: Loss, 6-3 Week 10: Bye Week 11: at Broncos, Sunday, Nov. 16 A road game in-division is never easy, but the Chiefs get two weeks to prepare for the rival Broncos. Reid also has a 22-4 record (.846) in the game following a bye, dating back to his time coaching the Eagles. Result: Win, 7-3 Week 12: at Colts, Sunday, Nov. 23 The Colts are poised to be a tough out this season, between their revamped defense and Jonathan Taylor-led rushing attack. But Steve Spagnuolo's defense should be able to exploit Indianapolis' weaknesses at quarterback, whether Anthony Richardson Sr. or Daniel Jones is on the field. Result: Win, 8-3 Week 13: at Cowboys, Thursday, Nov. 27 On a short week, the Chiefs fall to the Cowboys in a Thanksgiving stunner. Kansas City has its hands full covering CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Result: Loss, 8-4 Week 14: vs. Texans, Sunday, Dec. 7 The Texans' new-look offensive line is a bit underwhelming on paper. The likes of George Karlaftis and Chris Jones figure to get plenty of pressure on quarterback C.J. Stroud, like they did in last season's divisional round, when the Chiefs sacked Houston's QB eight times. Result: Win, 9-4 Week 15: vs. Chargers, Sunday, Dec. 14 The Chiefs sweep the Chargers for the third year in a row. Result: Win, 10-4 Week 16: vs. Titans, Sunday, Dec. 21 Even with No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward offering hope at quarterback, the Titans are at least one year away from competing with upper-echelon teams. Result: Win, 11-4 Week 17: vs. Broncos, Thursday, Dec. 25 In their second Thursday game of the season, the Chiefs fall to the Broncos on Christmas, splitting the season series with Denver for the third year in a row. Result: Loss, 11-5 Week 18: at Raiders, Flex Game Kansas City gets a much-needed victory to end the regular season, sweeping Las Vegas for the second consecutive year. Result: Win While the Chiefs' vulnerabilities were exposed in their Super Bowl loss last season, they still got to the Super Bowl. They're the three-time reigning AFC champions — and they'll be healthier around Mahomes in 2025, on top of having a chip on their shoulder. Having the Eagles, Ravens, Lions and Commanders at home in their gauntlet of a schedule is a major plus, too. Reaching 15 regular-season wins for a second straight year will be a challenge, but the Chiefs should be in the mix for the AFC's No. 1 seed once again. Rams OLB Jared Verse reveals his 'Welcome to the NFL' moment –\u00a0and who gave it to him

Rams OLB Jared Verse reveals his 'Welcome to the NFL' moment – and who gave it to him Verse shared the funny story behind his failed rep against Trent Williams It was a rookie season to remember for Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Jared Verse, who was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and selected to the Pro Bowl. He wasted no time becoming one of the best defenders on the team in just his first year, setting the bar high for the coming seasons. He did have a 'Welcome to the NFL' moment, though – as most rookies do at some point. It's not as if he got steamrolled by a lineman or knocked on his back by a blindside block. His moment came when power met power and he lost, which almost never happens for the incredibly powerful edge rusher. Verse talked about his 'Welcome to the NFL' moment on 'The Adam Schefter Podcast' this week, recalling the time 49ers left tackle Trent Williams put the clamps on him and wouldn't let go. 'Trent Williams, I didn't get to go against him too much but I'll lowkey say he kind of gave me my 'Welcome to the NFL' moment,' Verse said when asked about which linemen were the toughest he faced. 'It wasn't anything where I got thrown to the ground like some dudes get. I've always been the strongest dude around, so I've never had to worry about getting thrown around or this, that, the third. I do an inside move – we're running a blitz on the outside so I'm getting into the B-gap – they run an outside zone, whoever their running back was was bouncing to the outside. I get to the B-gap, he seals me off and I'm trying to rush, I'm trying to get off the tackle. So usually, I can just lift their hands up no problem. I'm just a lot stronger than everybody. I tried to lift Trent's hands up and they didn't budge. They didn't move one bit. I'm trying to move them, I'm chopping them down. I'm like, 'Bro, let go of me!' Trent's got a deep voice and I'm like, 'Trent, let go of me!' He's like, 'Ha ha ha, Verse. You're funny as hell.'' When the Rams were watching film the next day, Verse got called out for failing to get off Williams' block and there wasn't much he could say besides, 'I'll be better.' He wanted to flat-out tell his coach how strong Williams is but he held back. 'The next day, we're watching film and Coach is like, 'Jared, you've got to get off this block,'' Verse recalled. 'And I'm like, 'Yeah, Coach. I'll be better.' I lowkey wanted to just say, 'I tried! Like, I couldn't! The dude's strong!'' Williams is an 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro for a reason. He's one of the best left tackles of this generation, earning first-team All-Pro selections three times between the ages of 33 and 35 – a remarkable feat for a player his age. Even after 14 seasons in the NFL, Williams remains a premier left tackle so it's hardly surprising he was the one who really showed Verse that the NFL is a different animal than college.
