"Diddy Choked Me, Hit Me With Hanger": Cassie Ventura's Friend Details Abuse

NDTV20-05-2025

Sean Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to all charges
Music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs allegedly choked Cassie Ventura's best friend, beat her with a hanger, and once tried to force his way into his former girlfriend's apartment using a hammer, all to control and track her, a court heard in shocking testimony on Monday.
Kerry Morgan, Ms Ventura's former best friend, detailed years of alleged abuse she either witnessed or experienced herself at the hands of the music mogul. Ms Morgan, 39, a model and personal assistant from Buffalo, New York, testified that Sean Combs attacked her from behind in Ventura's Hollywood Hills apartment in 2018, as per The NY Post.
"He choked me," she told the court, adding that he left "finger marks on my neck" before hitting her behind the ear with a wooden hanger.
"When I got up, he boomeranged a hanger at my head," she said. He was reportedly trying to find out "who Cassie was cheating on him with," Ms Morgan added, insisting, "I had no idea."
Ms Morgan said she went to an urgent care facility where she was diagnosed with a concussion. She recalled being dizzy and throwing up multiple times after the beating.
That incident, she said, ended her 17-year-long friendship with Cassie Ventura. Ms Morgan claimed that Ms Ventura accused her of "exaggerating" the incident when they met shortly after.
Though Ms Morgan initially planned to sue Sean Combs, she said she dropped the civil claim after he paid her $30,000 (over Rs 25 lakh). Ms Ventura allegedly asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement during that meeting. "That was the last time we ever spoke," Ms Morgan told the jury. "I draw the line at physical abuse."
Ms Morgan also recounted a 2016 incident, following Sean Combs' now-infamous beating of Cassie Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City. She testified that she was at Ms Ventura's Los Angeles home the next day when he showed up with a hammer. "He was hitting the door with a hammer to try to open it," she said, describing the scene as "terrifying."
"I was freaking out. I don't think [Ms Ventura] cared if [Sean Combs] came in and killed her," Ms Morgan testified. She said Ms Ventura looked "numb" during the ordeal. Though police arrived about three hours later, no complaint was filed.
Ms Morgan also spoke about two earlier times she saw Sean Combs abuse Ms Ventura. The first happened in Los Angeles, where she saw him push her and maybe even hit her inside the main bedroom of his house. "We hid outside on a neighbour's front steps for 30 minutes," she said.
The second incident was in Jamaica in early 2013. Ms Morgan said Sean Combs got angry because Ms Ventura was taking too long in the bathroom. He allegedly dragged her about 10 feet across the floor. When Ms Morgan came back after picking up her purse, she saw Ms Ventura hit her head on a brick after he pushed her. "She didn't move," Ms Morgan said.
Ms Morgan also added that Sean Combs was extremely jealous, even when Ms Ventura was just talking to actor Michael B Jordan. "They weren't together anymore, and he was still jealous," she said. "I think she was trying to leave him."
Sean Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
The trial is set to continue on Tuesday.

Akshay Kumar beats Akshay Kumar : Housefull 5 overtakes Sky Force to become the 3rd biggest Hindi hit of 2025

Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 has surpassed his own film, Sky Force, becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025. The comedy caper earned Rs 119.75 crore in six days, exceeding Sky Force's Rs 112.75 crore total. This achievement highlights Kumar's box office dominance, with two successful films in different genres this year, despite a challenging market for Bollywood. In what can only be described as a box office face-off between Akshay Kumar and… Akshay Kumar himself, the superstar's latest release Housefull 5 has officially overtaken his own film Sky Force to become the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 so far. The comic caper, part of one of Bollywood's most successful comedy franchises, has managed to rake in Rs 119.75 crore in just six days of its release, surpassing Sky Force, which concluded its run at ₹Rs 12.75 crore. This is a classic case of Akshay competing with himself, and winning both ways. Earlier this year, Sky Force, a patriotic action-drama, had opened to decent numbers and enjoyed a respectable three-week run at the box office. The film's Week 1 total stood at Rs 86.5 crore, with footfalls dipping in subsequent weeks. Despite solid weekend jumps, it eventually wrapped up at Rs 112.75 crore after four weeks. However, Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, came in with a different energy altogether. With its slapstick comedy, an ensemble cast, and the goodwill of the franchise's earlier films, the movie opened to a robust Rs 24 crore on its first Friday. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Confidence packed. Wrinkles left behind. Philips Garment Steamers Book Now Undo The collections soared over the weekend, peaking at Rs 32.5 crore on Sunday. Though the film saw a predictable Monday drop to Rs 13 crore with Tuesday it collecting Rs 11.25 crore and Wednesday it minted around Rs 8 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk thus bringing its six-day total to an impressive Rs 119.75 crore. With this, Housefull 5 has now become the third biggest Hindi grosser of the year, trailing only behind Ajay Devgn's Raid 2, which has amassed over Rs 171 crore, and Vicky Kaushal's epic Chhaava, sitting comfortably at a record-breaking Rs 585.7 crore. What makes this feat particularly noteworthy is the fact that Akshay Kumar has managed to deliver three successful films in an otherwise challenging market for Bollywood. While many big-ticket films have underperformed, Kumar's dual successes — one in the patriotic action genre and another in massy comedy — reaffirm his box office pull. Industry experts believe Housefull 5 still has enough fuel left in its tank for another strong weekend. If the momentum sustains, it might cross the Rs 150 crore mark, though overtaking Raid 2 may be a steep climb. For now, it's celebration time for the Housefull team and for Akshay Kumar, who once again proves that in the game of box office numbers — no one beats Akshay better than Akshay himself .Housefull 5 boosts of a huge ensemble cast of Ritiesh Deshmukh, Abhishek A Bachchan, Fardeen Khan , Sonam Bajwa , Nargis Fakhri , Jacqueline Fernandez , Chunky Pandey, Dino Morea and Johnny Lever.

ED arrests ex-Haryana MLA,aide in money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) said it has arrested a former MLA and a former Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) officer in an alleged money laundering case here. Ram Niwas and Sunil Kumar Bansal were arrested on June 9, under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 in the case of misappropriation of public funds in HSVP (formerly known as the Haryana Urban Development Authority) bank accounts, a statement from the agency said. Ram Niwas was a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from 2019 to 2024. He represented the Narwana constituency after he won elections on a Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) ticket. He was also a former official of the HSVP. The ED initiated the investigation on the basis of FIR registered at Panchkula by Haryana Police against unknown persons, said the statement. This case was registered on a complaint by the Drawing and Disbursing Officer of HSVP, in which it was alleged that a 'fraud and financial loss' was committed through a bank account of HSVP, it added. As per the FIR, between 2015-2019, debit transactions amounting approximately Rs. 70 crore were repeatedly released in favour of some particular parties for no apparent reason from the said bank account of HSVP, causing a loss of Rs 70 Crore to HSVP. An internal enquiry by the HSVP revealed that no such bank account was reflected in the cash branch or IT wing of HSVP, meaning that HSVP was 'defrauded' by Sunil Kumar Bansal and Ram Niwas in a clandestine manner,' the ED statement said. Following their arrest, both the accused were presented before the Additional District and Sessions Court at Panchkula. They were remanded to five days' Enforcement Directorate custody..
