In fact, the lads from McFly were so taken with their performance, the two bands have been in the studio together.
The Remember Monday girls — Holly-Anne Hull, Lauren Byrne and Charlotte Steele — are back today with their sunny new single, Happier, and have also been writing with McFly following an introduction at last month's Capital Summertime Ball.
In an exclusive interview, Holly-Anne told us: 'We met McFly and we have always been fans.
"Obviously, they can really write a good song. We've been in the studio with them. They're freaking awesome.
'It's been really productive. We've finished one song. We were actually just discussing going to work on some more.
'But hopefully these songs will be out sooner than we think because I think we do want a body of work.'
The girls decided to kick things into gear in the studio after being inspired by their idol Sabrina Carpenter, whose new record is out next month — 12 months after her last one.
'Stars of the show'
Lauren said: 'As soon as Sabrina announced she had a new album coming out, we were like, 'What?!'. We were spurred into action.'
The group, who will perform at Latitude Festival in Suffolk today ahead of a nationwide tour in the autumn, have also recently been working with two stroppy divas — a pair of Shetland ponies.
The cute animals make cameos in the Happier music video, which will come out on YouTube on Sunday — but they were a nightmare on set.
Remember Monday star shares big update on 'stolen' wedding ring after Eurovision
Charlotte said: 'The music video came really easily to us and we've always wanted to do, like, a really girly kind of Desperate Housewives meets Barbie world story, and we think it's really, really living up to that.
'We had Mr Pickles and Miss Money Penny, who are two miniature Shetland ponies. They are so cute. Extremely clever stars of the show. But they ran away during the video. They were having a diva moment.'
Following their Eurovision performance, the girls told me they are planning a holiday in Italy — where the jury gave the UK a maximum 12 points — and are hoping either a music newbie or Little Mix star Jade might represent us next year.
Charlotte said: 'I think it would be really cool to have an unknown because it's such an amazing platform.
'We were unknown and look what it's done for us. We can't say a bad word about it.'
Lauren added: 'But Jade would be cool, too. That's what we keep saying to everyone.'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TELLY presenter Cat Deeley's marriage suffered a blow when husband Patrick Kielty tried to take her on a 'make or break' holiday — but she could not find time in her diary. He suggested a weekend away in Rome, where they married in 2012, but Cat was unable to agree a date. 4 Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley announced their split last week Credit: Getty 4 The couple are set to sell their £5million family home Credit: Eroteme Meanwhile the couple, who announced their split last week, are set to sell their £5million family home. A source said: 'There was talk at one time of them trying to take a holiday together without the children. Patrick suggested going back to Rome to spend quality time together. But they struggled to make it happen as she couldn't find a time in her busy schedule. It was a real shame because they have special memories of the city. 'It also felt like a make or break trip as they were struggling with their marriage.' Cat, 48, and Northern Irish former comedian Patrick, 54, moved back to the UK from LA in 2020 to start a new life with their two children. But for almost two years, Patrick has been spending most of his time hosting The Late Late Show in Dublin while his wife has been presenting ITV's This Morning in London with Ben Shephard. They have been renovating a five-bed North London house while renting with sons Milo, eight, and James, six. But the insider added: 'They have had difficult conversations about the future, even if that means selling. They called it their forever home but that isn't how it's turned out.' Meanwhile, Patrick's family in Dundrum, Co Down, feel Cat should have attended his mum Mary's funeral in March. She stayed in London with their children. A family source said: 'There was surprise that she didn't turn up. Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty reveal split after 13 years of marriage 'In Northern Ireland, people always turn out at family funerals — respect is a big thing here.' The Sun on Sunday asked Cat and Patrick's representatives for comment. 4 Patrick suggested a weekend away in Rome, where they married in 2012 Credit: Getty

Christine spoke out about her sexuality for the first time recently, revealing she has dated both sexes since she was a teen. The Sun revealed her fling with a leading soap actress earlier this month. Their encounter came in 2023, the year after Christine split from her ex-Top Gear host husband, Paddy, 51. The well-known actress, whom we are not naming, has previously been in relationships with men. Months after their marriage ended, Christine was pictured kissing singer Chelcee Grimes, 33. It was revealed how Christine got "incredibly close" to footballer Chelcee before splitting from Paddy. Yet the songwriter's recent fallout with pal Christine recently came to light, with the real reason for the pair's toxic spat revealed. The former couple have since disconnected on social media. Now, opening up in an interview with The Mail, Christine has revealed her ex Paddy's reaction to her dating woman. Christine McGuinness gives update on relationship with Paddy after soap star fling She said: "We spoke about this after we separated – what are we comfortable with, how much did we want to share – because neither of us wants to wake up and find the other on the front page of a newspaper. "But it's been three years now, I don't need to know what he's doing and he doesn't need to know about me. "It just stays outside the home." Christine then continued to explain that she would never bring a date back home. She shrieked: "No way! Even if I lived on my own it would be a long time before I took that step. "I was messaging an amazing woman last year, and it took three months before I agreed to meet her for a date. Christine has also said she would never use a dating app and meets people through friends, as her public profile is too high. Christine refuses to discuss Paddy's romantic life. The implication is they have both moved on and their private lives are none of each other's business. But could she see herself getting married again? "No,' she said. " I don't mean I'm traumatised by marriage; I was just so young then. I didn't understand how you're legally tied to someone if you're married. "I want to be in a committed relationship, but I want the freedom to walk away." Paddy and Christine first met through a mutual friend in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 33. In 2020, she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD after spending the majority of her life confused as to why she acted differently from everyone else growing up. Since then, the TV star has been raising awareness for it through interviews, television shows and public speaking. 7 Christine couldn't see herself getting married again Credit: Instagram 7 Christine wouldn't bring a date back home Credit: Instagram 7 Christine has said she feels she's too well known to use a dating app Credit: Instagram/mrscmcguinness

Credit: Getty The source has claimed that under-fire BBC presenter Naga Munchetty has a reputation for going "ballistic" at junior staff. They also revealed that she humiliated an intern who didn't make her porridge perfectly. An insider told the Mail: "She has a reputation for going at young members of staff and making them out to be fools. "She would kick off about the smallest of issues, including one time she went ballistic over her breakfast not being prepared exactly how she likes it by an intern." Munchetty refused to eat porridge delivered to her by an intern during an ad break as it was too hot for her to eat in the time she had. "The guy walked off the set utterly humiliated and went back to chuck it away before trying again in time for the next ad break, it was pretty brutal to watch," the insider added. A BBC spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. 'We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.' It comes as the BBC is set to launch an investigation into Munchetty following a string of complaints. The Breakfast host has been placed 'under review' while bosses consider escalating matters to a formal investigation. Gary Lineker tops BBC best-paid list with Naga Munchetty among biggest earners amid 'bullying' row as salaries revealed A source said bosses had heard from a number of aggrieved colleagues, logging concerns over her 'hard' and 'bullying' behaviour on BBC Breakfast and her Radio 5 Live show. She had also been hauled in by bosses over allegations she made an off-air sex jibe at 5 Live. The source said: 'Following the amount of people who have come forward to share their experiences with Naga, the BBC has officially moved to place the complaints under review. "The review is to ascertain whether a full-on investigation is required and that could come in weeks.' The Sun previously reported Munchetty faced complaints on 5 Live including a bullying claim and the use of crude, sexual language. Bosses were forced to apologise on her behalf after a tense interview with Spice Girl Geri Horner in 2023. Munchetty began work on BBC Breakfast in 2014 and covers Thursday to Saturday alongside Stayt, as well as presenting a Radio 5 programme three times a week. She is the BBC's 10th highest earner, on around £355,000. We reported since the bullying row had erupted on BBC Breakfast, her team had approached LBC radio to seek out new opportunities.
