SUPERMAN Star Edi Gathegi Confirms Multi-Project DC Deal and Talks About Post-Credits Scene — GeekTyrant
In an interview with Variety, the actor revealed that he signed a multi-project deal when joining the film.
'I know that I have a multi-project deal, but the specifics of that are unknown to me. What James is driving home is the idea that they're never going to rush into production with scripts that aren't ready, so even whatever they do have planned for my characters is irrelevant until the draft comes in and it's shootable.
'So I don't count my chickens before they hatch. I want to be involved in this universe in a major way, and whether or not that comes to fruition is just a matter of time and faith and other people's hard work.'
Mr. Terrific enters the story as part of the Justice Gang alongside Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), but by the end, he becomes a crucial player.
Not only does he help Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) free Superman (David Corenswet) from Lex Luthor's grip, but his tech, 'T-Spheres,' is essential in preventing Metropolis from being consumed by a black hole. He also had one of the best action scenes in the film!
And then there's that post-credits stinger. According to Gathegi, the tag was originally part of the main film before being moved to the end. He expained:
'That was originally in the movie. I wasn't there for the decision making, but to me, it's exciting because that's a promise. I don't know if it's a promise that DC is intending to make, but to have that moment at the very end of the movie, for me personally, is the full circle moment of me being unceremoniously killed before the big battle in X-Men: First Class to be kind of the last man standing.'
He also revealed how he found out about the change: 'The day of the premiere, I got a text message from James saying, 'Heads up, just so you know, some things are different, and that scene is now the end.''
There's no official word yet on where Gathegi's Mr. Terrific will appear next, but reports suggest a solo series is being considered.
Even if that doesn't happen, it seems likely the character will return in the Superman sequel, or perhaps even play a bigger role in the larger DCU rollout.

While "Man of Steel" ended its theatrical run earning $379 million overseas, "Superman" is only at $214 million internationally. So while "Superman" may have defeated "Man of Steel" domestically, Forbes argues that it's unlikely James Gunn's film is going overtake Zack Snyder's overall box office once the current theatrical run ends. As far as why "Superman" is having a much weaker time overseas than its 2013 counterpart, Gunn has offered a couple of possible reasons. He's argued that Superman isn't as much of a "known commodity" across the globe, though that begs the question of why "Man of Steel" did so well. I will say that everything in the [first season episode Best Friends For Never] is canon except for maybe Bat-Mite. He's one of my favorite characters, but I can't say for sure that Bat-Mite is real. He's a wonderful character from the comics. He's an Imp from the Fifth Dimension who looks creepy and dresses in a little Batman costume. Except the ears are bent, because it's a really ill-fitting Batman costume. He's got skinny little legs [and] a fat little body, and he worships Batman. After ‘Suicide Squad,' WB Is Making Another Live-Service DC Game
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League WB may be producing some solid movies and TV shows as of late, despite all its corporate and branding drama, but video games? It's in a weird place. After the huge success of the single-player Hogwarts Legacy and the utter disaster that was the live-service Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the demand from David Zaslav at the top was…more live-service games. And here we are, with WB gearing up for another DC one, it seems. This news comes from a job listing (via Tech4Gamers) that lists a new executive producer job at WB Montreal hiring for an unannounced game. They are to 'lead the development of a high-quality AAA game based on one of the iconic IPs from the vast Warner Bros. and DC Comics catalog.' Okay, that's good! But they also have to 'oversee post-launch content and live service strategy, ensuring ongoing player engagement.' Oh no. It is not easy to forget what a disaster Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was, which debuted with poor scores, poor sales and poor retention for its live-service aspects. After Marvel's Avengers had tried and failed to make a live-service superhero game, Suicide Squad was an even worse attempt and reportedly lost WB $200 million. Suicide Squad There is supposed to be a more traditional Arkham game in the works from Rocksteady now, according to past reports, but WB does not seem like it's going to be able to give up the chase to try and jam DC superheroes into a live game. But it's even harder with a superhero concept, as evidenced by these failures. Marvel's Avengers had to awkwardly insert bizarre loot like finding drops of Black Widow belts or Hulk rib cages. They also quickly realized that the pace of delivering new heroes and content was wildly harder than they thought, and they fell behind without ever catching up. To its credit, Suicide Squad did produce its year of content in a timely manner before throwing in the towel but it…wasn't good. A similar problem existed with loot, as the game attempted to make all its characters use guns including ones where it made no sense like Captain Boomerang and King Shark. It also had a story everyone hated based around the uncomfortable concept of killing off the Justice League (though in the follow-up content no one played, it was revealed those were actually all clones, and the real JLA survived. Except uh, Wonder Woman. RIP). There are no indications about what kind of game this would be. James Gunn has previously said he wants the DCU to have attached video games, which seemed incredibly ambitious given development timelines. It's not impossible this could be the plan, however, as WB desperately wants to get the DCU off the ground, and a good live-service game could bolster that.
