4 women in hospital after late-night crash in city's east end

Four women are in hospital after a two-vehicle crash in London's east end late Tuesday night.
The crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. at Highbury Avenue and Huron Street, police said.
Three women are have serious but not life-threatening injuries, and the fourth has serious, life-threatening injuries, officials said, and they were taken to hospital by paramedics.
The intersection remained closed Wednesday morning as police investigate.

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a pickup truck in western Quebec, provincial police say. The crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 105 near Kazabazua, Que., according to a news release from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The northbound truck apparently made a left-hand turn and the southbound motorcycle couldn't avoid the impact, the SQ said. The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash is underway, the SQ said. As of 8:20 p.m., Highway 105 was still closed near the scene of the collision. Kazabazua is roughly 80 kilometres northwest of downtown Ottawa.

Around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, police sent a release advising that the residence did not pose an 'ongoing risk to the public,' as 'the threat is currently contained.' They are asking that residents avoid the area and follow the directions of officers there. They also ask that people don't post photos of police on social media until after the incident is over. Police said an update will be given when available.
